"She would always save me bc I was her baby"
I love all of my kids and they will all always be my babies. And he's exactly right I'll always save them.
But my fav part is " and that ones kinda crazy but that one is my baby" will always make me think of my relationship with my daddy.

Songs like this are hitting me real hard this year because I lost my mom to cancer four months ago. As the song says, even though I'll be 59 this year, I was still her little boy.

As the mother of a little boy right now, I can tell you for a fact: your mother loved you as much on her last day as she did on your first day. I am seriously so sorry for your loss.

😢 This song has always made me cry, but since my grandma passed in 2017, it really kills me. The song makes me think of her. She had 3 kids and when my dad was driving up to see her in Ohio, she had passed before he could get there. The youngest of the 3. So this song hits me. Makes me think of her and my dad. I can still hear her voice when every Sunday when he would call to talk to her, saying "I Love You, Son" before hanging up. I miss her everyday. 💔

My mom passed away in 2002 and I still cry when I hear this song. I was the youngest child in my family and just like in this song my mama used to tell me that I’d always be her baby. Also just like the song I got a call from my wife and I was about 50 miles away from home at work. I broke every speed limit to get back to her. She was in the er and had been unresponsive for a while but she was still alive. My wife leaned over and told her that I was there and she opened her eyes. I grabbed her had and she squeezed mine. I told her that I loved her and she took off her oxygen mask and looked up at me and told me she loved me. Those were her last words. I can’t begin to tell you what great parents I had. If you read this and your parents are alive give the the biggest hug you can give and tell them every day that you love them.

You did this 10 months ago but i just saw this. This is very relatable for me. My husband was in the military and we were stationed in kansas and my hometown is georgia. I got a call from my dad saying my mom was in a coma by the time we got there. We drove through the night she was taken off life support 3 days later. I never got to tell her bye and i love her. She was my best friend. 3 weeks after she passed away i found my dad in his room..he passed away from a broken heart so in less than a month i lost my whole world and i miss both of them everyday!!

you asked if it touched anyone. i always cry at this song. I am the baby of my family and my mother and i are extra close. while she is not gone, the ending really touches me, as I am A long haul truck driver and I know some day I will get that call and it is my greatest fear not to be able to make it back to her side in time. So, yes. this song really touches me.

Thanks for reacting to this. I loved it when it first came out and it was one of my mom's favorites. This one now hits home for me. I'm the baby of the family by 11 yrs and I ended up taking care of my mom instead of finishing college. 9 yrs ago when she got really sick and ended up in the hospital for the last time I wasn't allowed in the hospital room until the last morning because I was sick and running a high fever. They didn't want to take the chance of me possibly giving her what I had. I went to see her that morning but our dr sent me back home because he said there wasn't anything I could do for her and if I didn't get home and in bed that I'd end up in the hospital too. Then a few hrs later my sister and sister in law showed up to tell me she was gone. So not only was this one of mom's favorite songs it really hits home for me now.

Billy, I've heard this before, but I'd forgotten a lot of words. I was more than 50 when my Mom passed away and I still cried more than once. Then, two years after my Dad passed away, we walked into a restaurant and Holly Dunn's song, "Daddy's Hands" was playing -- I absolutely lost it! It's been more than 20 years now, and yes, I still miss them both!

Happened to me. I am the youngest of 6. They took my mom into the er for chest pains one night. My brother called and said they were going to transfer her to Balor in Dallas. Which is 70 or so miles from my house. I told him to give her a kiss for me and I'd be there after work the next day, thinking it wasn't anything serious. 242 in the morning I got a call that said mom had passed away. I drove like hell to get there. I learned 3 important lessons that day. Work can wait, family is important and you only get one last memory. The next 5 years I spent with my dad, taking care of him as he battled cancer. I'm glad he's now with her, but I'd gladly give another 10 to do it all again with him. God bless yall.

Omg first time hearing this song. Very relatable. Im the youngest. At the time I had my first daughter she was 3 at the time. My moms last words to me were "Where's my baby " referring to her granddaughter my first daughter. My heart was broken when she didn't make it. I cried and felt so much regret for not bringing my daughter to see her. I thought it just wasn't the place for a 3 yr old because she was getting triple bypass. This song brought back all my guilt and the tears were flowing. 😥

You still feel the lump in your throat even after the song. Then as I type this you say “I’m gonna need a break”. Ain’t lying there. You must hate when BYSE logs in but it feels good to release with music. I’ve never seen my dad cry (granted he missed the first 20+ years of my life) but there’s a song by Conway Twitty called “that’s my job”. It didn’t used to get to me until I seen my dad cry listening to it. Seeing another grown man cry, breaks me down but I’ll never forget the image of my father shedding tears and that song will always trigger that memory.
I’ve been watching you for nearly a year but only recently vocal. I’ve been lighting your notifications up all day today tho. Sorry lol. Thank you for the uploads. Please keep it up.

I was living in Florida when I got a call from back home in Kentucky... my mom was taken to the hospital for spontaneous, uncontrollable bleeding - I called my dad to come & get me - to take me to my mom(they'd been separated 15 years by then) because I don't drive(vision issues). Before he even reached me, from where he lived in Ohio, the hospital had done a biopsy & found cancer.
That whole day - waiting for dad to get there and the whole 1,000 miles north to KY - this song was stuck in my head on a loop.
By the time I got there they had her stabilized, thankfully.
But the cancer took her 6 months later - I was there. I never returned to Florida. I left my entire life behind, including my now ex husband who disagreed with my decision to stay in KY with my sick/dying mother.
This song will forever remind me of that day. Of being terrified I'd get there too late... because I was her baby.(the youngest of 4)

Then i got the news while stationed in england. Will always remember that birthday. It wad a race back home. And the siblings my mom would say the same. Extremely relatable. My mom passed in 2017. I had reconnected with an old friend from high school but he was sick. A few days later I got sick with the flu, by far the sickest I’ve ever been and my mom took care of me. I got better and few days later she gets sick. My dad took her to the hospital one morning before I woke up, I didn’t think it was serious so that evening I went to play poker machines and get a call from the hospital and the nurse tells me I need to get there fast. When I walked in they announce code blue over the intercom- it was my mom. They tried reviving her but she didn’t make it. They let us in to see her after she passed and I remember holding her hand and kissing her forehead. I’m consumed with guilt as I am old enough that I shouldn’t have even been home to get her sick. If I had gotten my shit together earlier in life and had a wife and family of my own I wouldn’t have been up there for her to catch it. They tried telling me that it wasn’t my fault but I know it was. She was my best friend. That’s a hard one to live with as you could imagine and if not for my dad and worrying about him I probably would’ve checked out a long time ago.

This darn song hits different now , I’m also the baby , and my father recently got covid and put up a good fight , then he went down hill quick and as I sat in that family meeting room at the hospital with the doctor by myself , all I could say was “how long” and he said “24-48hours” I called my sisters and they flew up that night ( from Arizona to Alaska), the hospital allowed all 4 of us to be in his room , we told him we where all there and it was okay , he opened his eyes briefly , took a deep breath and was gone , so quick , we got to say goodbye but it still cut deep , loosing a parent is loosing a part of your soul 🥺🥺

This hit hard for me. I lost both my parents. I'm from Cincinnati and I'm the baby of my family. The way she described her sons reminded me so much or how my did as well

I was not there when my adopted mom passed but I spent the last 8 years taking care of her before... I miss her everyday as much as I miss everyone who has gone to heaven before me...

Damn just in time for my emotional breakdown of the year. First of 2 each year. Today, September 6th, would have been my mother's 67th birthday but unfortunately we lost her to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) on November 15th of 1993. I was 11 years old. This song makes me cry so hard because I too was the baby.

This song is so much more meaningful for me now. In 2011, when I was 15, my dad received a phone call and said my mom was in the hospital. We arrived and she essentially was brain-dead and we had to make the decision to pull her off- this was 10 days before Christmas. I never got to say goodbye or her say I love you one last time :(

This song came out a few months after my father's death. I was a true Daddy's girl, very close to him. But , just like in this song, I was a trouble child, I was the 'miracle baby that wasn't supposed to be', so I basically did anything I wanted , had anything I wanted. When I became an adult, we had our troubles but we were still two peas in a pod. We'd had a small falling out and we hadn't talked in 2 weeks at one point but one day he called me at work because he needed information about something. I knew it must have cost him a lot to ask me so I said I would find it and call him back. Took a while so when I called him back, he had gone on an errand so I said I would call him back as soon as I got home. When I got home around 4h30, I thought about calling him right away but I decided to get dinner started first, put it in the over and then I would call him. Wouldn't take me more than an hour at most. I was putting the finishing touches when my phone rang. I looked at the clock, it was 5h10. I knew he was calling me. When I answered, it was my uncle. My father had had a major heart attack and the paramedics were trying to revive him. I dropped everything and I went to my parents' house but he never came back. I never talked to him again. In Feb of this year, it will be 20 years. And yet I still haven't forgiven myself for not calling him right as I came home, just so I could've heard his voice one last time. So this song destroyed me when it came out.

My son sent this to me the other day when I sent him video by Brett Eldridge “Raymond” he promised not to do the meaning in Raymond if I promise not to do this to him. he is active military and fixing to leave to go fight in same battle both of my older brothers fought in. After the waterworks i had to lighten the mood and I sent him “he’s mine” by Rodney Atkins and said This about sums up your childhood.. everytime I hear this song takes me back to when my boys were little. I love your channel!

I got to see Blake debut this song at the Grand Old Opera on a vacation to Nashville. He was inducted into it, but it was one of their nights when they have new and popular upcomers. He got through the song, but he stumbled a few time, he apologised to the audience. He cried singing it.
