The Song is about a father on how he remembers his son who was a Soldier - SSG Jared Monti (13F Forward Observer) who was killed in action while trying to save a fellow wounded soldier (3 times) during an attack in Afghanistan. For his actions he was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2009.
@@lawou8989 The story is about the father and son but they asked him not to make it about a father and a son because it was just too painful. So they worded it about a brother missing his brother and if you listen to it you will hear him talking to his mother and she asked him did you go by your brother's grave and then close to the end of the video he says brother I drive your truck.
I lost my brother 13 years ago and yes I still drive his truck ! I keep it up and for most of the year my jag sits in the garage cuz I’m bouncing around in an old ford truck. I don’t think he minds.
Melissa Kardos I lost my little brother to drugs and I got his truck. So I completely understand how you feel! This is one of those songs I gotta listen to alone cuz I straight up ugly cry! I’m sorry for your loss!
@Christi Hinson I'm not going to say anything about you wishing him dead. I think I know what you meant, but how you said it was harsh. Brother Hinson, keep your head down, lol!
This song is about a dad who lost his son, Jared Monti, KIA (2006) in Afghanistan. He served in 3/71 CAV, 10th Mountain Division and who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for making 3 attempts to save one of his soldiers during an attack of their observation post, being killed by an RPG on the third attempt. His dad's coping mechanism is the basis of this song. Climb to Glory!
The songs actually about his brother dying!!!! “Momma asked me this morning if I’ve been by your grave, but that flag and stone ain’t where I feel you anyway” and also at the end he says “yeah sometimes brother I drive your truck”. The family is his brothers at the end!
It was deep. Took me a while to realize it. Grandpa was my hero in every sense of the word. It hurt to let him go. But I knew he’d be up with grandma, mom, & dad. It hurt hearing his daughter telling him to let go. Let go and go meet grandma & dad. But that line about I’m not feeling him at his grave. His soul, his peace was at home.
Man this song was what helped me get threw the death of my grandfather. We used to just ride around in his truck all the time when I was young. So it always reminded me of him
This song got me when I first heard it! I lost a brother during his 6th deployment. I have two other brothers that served. My oldest brother just retired after 26 years in the Army and our other brother is a Marine, currently on his 2nd deployment. Our first deployment since we lost our brother.. it’s been rough!
Lee heard a story about a military father who lost his son on the radio one day driving. He said he had to pull over the story got to him so much. He was in contact with the father about making the song. The person in the video (that drives the truck, etc) is Lee's actual brother, Lewis. So he made it even more personal by featuring his actual family. If I'm not mistaken, the money for the song went towards Veterans as well.
This song is a song I cry to every time I hear it. I lost my brother in the war in 09. I've had to have my hubby not play it sometimes because I get so emotional.
In the song, the lyric says: Momma asked me if I'd been by your grave.. The song was inspired when he heard about a father that drove his son's dodge truck, after the son had been killed on duty.
this song gets me everytime. i lost my grandfather while in basic training, it hit me hard. this song make me miss driving his truck, he wasnt military but still, i wish i could have seen him one time
My dad died last month and left me his blazer it’s not in the best condition but to me it’s the best vehicle in the world and even after it’s worn out when I’m old enough to drive it I will restore it fully and keep driving it probably till the day I die..
Thank you so much for reacting to this song finally! I love this song and cry every time I hear it. My grandpa passed away a few years ago and when he passed away my grandma gave me his truck. This song reminds me of my grandpa in so many ways and it’s just such an amazing and beautiful song. Very emotional for me.
This song was actually written for a mother and father that had lost their son. They drove his truck to soothe their grief. Lee Brice delivers the emotion intended, in this song. The video depicts him losing his brother. The emotion is so felt.
