I think the thing that gets me the most about the Pringle's logo is how the text and tie still have the black stroke, but the face doesn't. The black stroke was a connecting factor of the old design, unifying the face, bow and text. I think this is part of what makes the newer logo so confusing. If they wanted to remove the stroke they could've unified the whole logo by removing it from the text and bow as well. I don't think this would be a "fix" per se, but it might make their design choices look like they had more consistency and thought put into them.
Yeah. Plus, the new logo’s text still has shading and lighting, unlike the new Pringles guy who is completely flat. They could at least keep some consistency when they’re making these changes.
I do miss Community Captions, UA-camrs who didn’t want to spend all their time on Captioning their videos didn’t have to. And now because of this change several UA-cam Channels are no longer accessible to deaf people the way they once were.
I could tolerate the misuse excuse for removing community made subtitles but vids without auto generated subtitles is just plain fuckin stupid. I can just barely understand without subs due to my audio processing issues, like if you're going to turn them off at least speak clearly. Creators shouldn't have to pay to make your site accessible
I think Spotify is one of the case of a logo being simplified correctly. The Spotify word wasn’t really memorable like it is in eBay, and the new logo has the most memorable part at the forefront.
The problem with Spotify logo is that it's NOT intuitive. I specifically picked people unfamiliar with logo (I took 73, in fact), showed them the picture and asked what do they think this software is doing. 2 went with flashlight. 71 went with wi-fi.
I definitely think one of the worst offenders was Google changing all the logos for their different apps to have the same color scheme, but I doing so, made them so similar it's actually noticeably more difficult to differentiate the icons.
OMG yess. I've a Google folder on my smartphone and I take a hefty bit of time going into any of the Gmail, Search, Photos, Maps, Play Store, Drive, Meet, or Find Device, became they ALL FUKIN LOOK THE SAME! Thankfully, I can still open my Keep Notes on the first try- oh wait! That was the Slides. Sh*t!
Damn It’s good to know I’m not alone. Also what the fuck is up with their logo. A square and a dot yeah that’s not a logo. Even Windows’ four colo(u)red square is better.
lol, I didn't even know that was patron. Tbh I never used it but I can recognize the P not the new logo. On YT vids I always saw that logo but It never crossed my mind that was patron
I swear every time I see the new patreon logo I have to stare at it for minutes before I can figure out what the hell it's supposed to be, and when I finally decipher that it's supposed to be a P, my immediate reaction is, "Gee, that's stupid." Every single time.
@@jorge666 WHO THE FUCK WOULD EVER FIGURE THAT OUT?? WHY WOULD THE COIN BE *WHITE?* WHY WOULD THE COIN NOT BE *_IN_* THE SLOT? THAT LOOKS MORE LIKE A P!!!
Tbh the main negative experience I have of the simplification is telling app icons apart. When most brands have a saturated icon with no lines, shading or detail, it's kinda the same 6 skittles representing 50+ apps. Even in the limited space of streaming video you might be clicking.. one of the blue ones or one of the red ones?
And then you have the anime gacha games which just have an overly detailed character on it which in case of even 2 of these apps near each other it makes it really hard to distinguish because they are a mess.
The worst part about oversimplified logos is that they couldve reduced gradients or shading to 2 or 3 solid colors to keep contrast, one of the most important parts of design, but they dont and just leave it looking like colored text.
@@yungjose3369 a lot of older logos used gradients like the old youtube or the windows logos. You can turn those into multiple solid colors through rotoscoping or take the lazy way out and just make it one solid color like most companies did. Gradients arent used much anymore because they look kind of outdated.
@@yungjose3369 lol no Gradiants are dead effing simple for printing if this was on dot matrix printers during the 80's you would have a point but not in todays tech.
@@snintendog This is another fascinating point I appreciate on this side of the debate; why simplify when printing and computer displays are the most clear-crystal they've ever been? It's not the 80's or 90's anymore, almost every display is HD, so why bother now? Why isn't it going the opposite direction, from simple to complex?
@@an_annoying_cat It is true that I find gradients dated, but why tho? Isn't it precisely because companies stopped using it and all gradient based logos are now remnants of a past time, so I associate any such logo now with them and that time? If yes then what you said is circular reasoning
The pringles face looks so detached now from the rest of the logo, because the solid black line only goes around the text and not the face. It's just bad design
Honestly I love the new pringles face, but I hate that clumsy silly bold outline on the text. IF YOU WANT TO MODERNIZED YOUR LOGO, AT LEAST MODERNIZED IT AS A WHOLE LOL
Of all the logo changes displayed in this video. The Pringles change was BY FAR the worst. I was honestly offended when I first saw that in stores lmao. It looks unfinished, like they gave up half way through designing a more simplified logo, and I agree with Solo Sands' point that it now looks dead. Some of these logo changes make sense, and I can get them being better objectively, like the Discord logo... But come on Pringles, that's just embarrassing.
@@hsvr Heard of exaggeration? It's pretty commonly used. And usually better recognised when people add "lol" or "lmao" to the end of the exaggerated point
It's bad but also when you get used to it, it's better than before cause it's more practical, I have a pringles can in front of me right now and the design suits the can very well cause its colors don't fight with the other colors that represent the flavor
Nevermind whether it looks "dead". If they were going to give him a shave, maybe they should've gone for a mohawk, lol. Wait... now I want to to see Skrillex Pringle.
Changing Clyde to be symmetrical and removing a few of the cuts, I mean it's fine I guess. However what I find absolutely mind boggling is switching to that bastardised pre-school font, the saturated purple is hard on the eye as well compared to the old one.
@tera because they want it and who gives a shit if you do? Does this really affect your experience with the service itself? Not really. You can still recognize it right? So why in god's green earth is this something to bitch about? Talk about 1st world problems
@@ArnulfoSalgado solar sands definitely worded it perfectly at the ending with “it reminds us how powerless we are to these companies and the changes they make” to be honest the discord change pissed me off so much I deleted the app entirely, it’s been going down hill lately but that was definitely the last straw for me
@@ArnulfoSalgado It looks nasty, and I prefer the old one. Simple as that. If you want more explanation, here it is, but brace yourselves, it’s paragraph time! I, along with other people, found the old discord logo quite charming. It was nice and sleek, had character, and had a soothing backing. It is now much more blocky, the blue is much more harsh, and is just more basic. The text seems much more, for lack of a better description, economic. The old one was more dramatic, had a discord feel to it. But worst of all, they removed Wumpus. The absolute legend, the lonely pig himself, Wumpus. He was funny, and indirectly explained what everything was for. He was almost as iconic as the logo, if not even more. And they removed him. Discord was a very user based company, and they are turning into a faceless corporation. They seem to be going with the trend, despite their userbase not liking these changes. Once they saw that users disliked the changes, they could have just gone back.
As a graphic designer, I personally like minimalism quite a lot. The problem is that EVERY company is using it now regardless of whether it serves them or not. Minimalist logos work really well for things like banks, airlines and companies that need to look universal and reliable. Companies like Discord, Pringles among others need a distinct personality because THAT'S what attracts people to them. Mind you, I do think Discord did keep part of its personality, with the colors and style. But the Typography doesn't serve them imo. I think the little guy's change isn't that big of a deal lmao
The text is fine. No one knows what youre talking about when you say "the Discord font". It wasn't recognizable and certainly not memorable. The new one however is readable. Personally I like the new Discord logo and the hate around it is silly especially if its meant to look like a controller.
@@SirKrisX I agree with you, but I still feel like the text they have now isn't as good. I also agree that the rage regarding these changes is unnecessary lmao
The Patreon change was so bad that when I saw it linked in videos I didn't even recognize it. It's only RIGHT NOW that I realized that the two shapes were their new logo.
Yeah, that one is a step above the rest. I've seen the new Patreon logo so much and this video just made me realize what it was. I simply never put it together. That means death for brand awareness.
Same here. I thought this was a new website and, for some reason, all good artists i know went into it. One week later i realized that was a Patreon logo...
@MrDjBigZ it’s like the difference between a burning car wreck or your grandma’s shitty old car. Your grandma’s car isn’t the best but it’s preferable to the burning car wreck.
In high school I was in a design class and we had a whole project based on simplifying a logo of our choice. If u didn’t simplify it enough, the teacher would get low key mad and make u do more stuff to it
Someone said that it feels like the personality is being taken away when they over simplify logos and as an artist I feel it’s similar to when u have a sketch with so much personality and emotion but then you outline it and all that disappears, because in a way you’ve simplified it, taken away all the little flaws and lines that gave it that personality in the first place :(
this is why when i draw, instead of outlining, i clean up and use the sketch as lineart. it gives it a very unique and rough style that i'm much happier with, because it also adds complexity to the art.
I read somewhere that it's because, in sketches, your eyes can choose which line to focus on and choose the best to make the whole work look the best. While in a clean lineart, there's on one line to choose and see, which isn't as exciting and you don't really know if you chose the best one. I've found a way to close the distance between those two. I watched and learned how to make my lines cleaner and more decisive by stopping the "stroke and stop" motion that a lot of beginners do- also known as the chicken scratch. I do a stroke of line that knows where to end. And I watched professionals like Ethan becker and Reiq who've mastered this. Lol I dunno if I'm just rambling now but I hope this helps someone. I take pride in my lines. I've also noticed that it's a big difference when it comes to painters compared to artists like animators. Both focuses on shapes and forms, but one does it in blocking of colors and the other using lines.
Not only personality but it feels like the very soul and happiness is getting taken away, and is twas they want to push a standardized grey bland idea on the Population I can't help but feel like with this whole flat and bland design language and gradual simplification of designs, they're doing this on purpose, to kill people's individuality, creativity, cheerfulness. To turn the public into a mass of drones without their own opinions or identity, so they can push whichever ideas they want on the Population. Marketing and advertisement is itself brainwashing after all
I’m a graphic designer and I teach! I’ve been talking a lot about how minimalism is a huge trend in current design. I loved your video! I really wanted to show my students an argument about the downsides of updating current logos to this trend. People have very strong opinions to logo changes, especially established brands. Been watching for years and I loved your perspective!
@@MaoTao Probably a few more years. Some of the better simplified logos will survive, but the more... shall we say egregious examples of changes (Patreon) will either reverse themselves, try the new "trendy" style to replace what's going on now, or otherwise die out altogether, depending on the circumstances at hand.
I think if I were a CEO of some company, I'd just change the logo to fuck with people. Hell even the negative press may even become free marketing and I get a spike in sales. Even if that doesn't happen, it's worth the satifisfaction of messing with people lol. And it's one of the less harmful pranks out there
I saw an old Tumblr post that went: "It's like they're getting out of their edgy teenage phase and wild college years, and trying to be bland, professional adults". The prime example at the time being 90's Nickelodeon versus now.

@@Idiotic_B_Purcell I think the biggest change for me was Google's logo, which underwent a complete change around 2015. I really, honestly thought it was an April Fools joke. Simplifying a logo so it will be easier to recognize or display isn't necessarily a problem. The problem lies with companies drastically changing their logo, making it unrecognizable such as Microsoft edge and Pinterest. Another problem is a lot of companies have switched to a sharp typeface with consistent lines and angles which feels boring and no longer represents what that company is about. Take the Airbnb logo for example, the large blue and white bubble letters create a feeling of softness and comfort, and the old Pinterest logo, with its cursive, calligraphy like design, presents this feeling of artistic creativity which is what Pinterest is meant to share and both have just switched to colored text.
Agree the cursive script style of Pinterest fits their user base so much and for them to throw that away is pretty stupid. Disney is super successful with script font so it’s not like people can’t read them…
I understand your point and agree, but I also think it's worth considering the possibility _whether_ a company even wants their logo to be recognisable and to reflect their history. Microsoft Edge is a good example. Their new logo is actually more complex in terms of shading and colour than the old Edge logo, but definitely simpler in shape, as it went from being an "e" to a... croissant? But then, the "e" was also used by Internet Explorer. and you know how _that_ was. No one liked Internet Explorer for decades, and it's been the butt of basically every remotely experienced computer user's jokes. The original Windows 10 Edge was often mocked for just being Internet Explorer with a new name. Therefore, I'd say it's reasonable to assume they really just wanted to hammer home the message that the Chromium-based Edge is a new browser entirely and shouldn't even be associated with IE.
the old pringles guy looks happy, enjoying pringles. new pringles guy doesn’t communicate anything bold at all, it’s just another entry in the ongoing list of oversimplified logos. plus it looks like it makes more sense as a favicon for some website instead of a chips mascot
I think the one thing truly killing it is the eyes. Why did they remove the shines??? The joy in this eyes is gone and only corporate hollow colours remain.
also, it’s inconsistent. His bowtie has an outline (because it’s part of the text? idk) while his head does not. Also, the eyebrow placement just looks odd. if they HAD to change the logo then they could have made the colors flat and the line weight consistent, maybe simplify the hair. But this...this is evil.
Apple moving from their old Skeuomorphic design to their more “modern” design with the launch of iOS 7 was the first time that brand simplification really impacted me.

Maybe 50 years from now all the logos will retain detail so the we can distinguish them because there will only be 6 corporations left that have not merged with each other.
We were at a stage in 2010 where logos were just right, then in 2020, when logos were too minimalistic. 2030, I'm either expecting it to go down to "just right" again, or the overcomplication stage.

Although, of course, for some people, it is broken. And from our perspective, it's like, "Okay, it was broken. But it's almost like you bodged fixing it instead of doing it properly." Then there's the cases where the internet is polarized between "Finally! The logo was old af." vs "No! It was perfectly good as is. Dang children!"
I have noticed this with software too, the icons used to look like the item they were representing but now they are all just black thin symbols which look very similar and sometimes impossible to tell what they are until you click on them. life is complicated enough, you should not have to learn what every symbol and icon means in order to know what it does, it should be obvious to anyone just looking at it. They should look like what they are representing. Logos especially should be well designed and distinctive, these basic logos look cheap and give an impression of poor quality and a poor experience.
it is the year 203X. computer operating systems have forfeited logos entirely and have gone back to text interfaces only. we are now living in an anachronistic idea of the future thought up by people in the 90s.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that Burger King themselves had the decency to pull a smart move and go back in time and use the design of their old logo, that's in a way simplified but with a clever touch of nostalgia?
imo their old design was pretty... shit; now they have to spend a ton of money transforming all their stores when their logo from 2000 was chugging along just fine? idk seems wasteful to me
What? No. It looks so out of place compared to other signs. It only having two dark colours make it bland and the letters feel more blocky when leveled
for me the logo changes don’t really bother me, but the nostalgia the old ones give me is telling me “Damn, kind of wish they were how they used to be”
Doesn't that just mean its bothering you subtly? Personally I'm more frustrated over the lack of capability and thought that go into these designs, its like every corporation are obsessed with making flags, its like they plan to take the moon.
The pinned down icons on the windows taskbar are a usefull idea, that I use daily. Unfortunately nearly all programm icons slowly turn into blue circles. Right now I have 4 easily distuingishable icons, two yellow squares, and five blue icons, four of which are circles, pinned. It's difficult to tell the apart on a glimpse.

the logo is supposed to be the “personality” of the brand, what makes it memorable, but if they are all the same, none is memorable, it’s all the same, so simple
They all want to be part of the trend. Simplified logos are easier to read, reproduce and remember. In the marketing world, it´s all about adapting or dying, but some brands take it too far and sacrifice part of their identity and what made it unique for, idk, making more money I guess.

5:43 The old Pringles logo works on all backgrounds, because it's bright colors with a black outline. The new one has floating black shapes, which makes it impossible to use on darker backgrounds. The worst change of all shown in my opinion.
Does it really matter? Your not going to notice the smallest detail of the logo changing colour due to the material, your still goanna know what it is. I'm pretty much saying that the new logos suck and they have no reason to be over simplifying them
As a graphic designer I can tell you that even before they were all against putting their logo on a dark background. The outline makes a huge difference in how we see a logo and when it becomes one with the background it is not the same logo anymore. I am sure that before (just like after the change) they were saying "no" for their logo on black/dark colors.
It depends on the brand. Some brands are meant to be cold and emotionless, like aws services, some need character like pringles. When pringles uses the same design principles as a technical service for storing data, it's simply a bad idea.
The reason why I find the oversimplified logos bad is because they feel so lifeless and uninspired. Due to every logo having a similar design structure favoring simple fonts and basic shapes, they start to feel very similar. Take, for example, the image at 7:51 with the logos of Google, Airbnb, Spotify, and Pinterest on the page. The upper logos felt unique, and had their own recognizable style and energy to them that made them stand out. Compare that to the bottom logos, whom look nearly identical in shape, with the only differences being their colors. People are mad because the logos are just boring and plain, they lack any sort of emotion in them and convey "I am a corporation" more than anything else.
It can be done right I’m sure but yes. Exactly the same reason modern architecture is so disliked. There’s just a bunch of shitty soulless one in our cities.
Personally, I think the anger people feel about this is rooted in the fact that it just... Keeps happening. One company changes their logo and it looks like shit, and it's whatever. But time and time again companies keep changing their branding in the same predictable way that no one seems to like. No matter how much backlash they get, they go full steam ahead, because everyone else is doing it, I guess? At least to me, it's not that I feel powerless, it's that I'm irritated by how utterly out of touch these people are when everyone is screaming at them at full volume. Its the completely asinine attempts at justification that feel like blatant lies from design teams desperate to justify their pay check. No, your change doesn't make your brand "friendly" or "energetic". It just looks bad. Are they trying to lie to me, or to themselves?
no, they're definitely trying to lie to you. whatever they're trying to convey, they're not making any real substantial changes. as the perfect example and with pride month coming up, look at how corporations treat it. the only thing they do is edit their logos to have rainbow colors and they'll change it back immediately on july 1st. it's all bullshit, and it definitely drives me insane too.
Yeah I study graphic design even and we have talked about oversimplification. I have to use minimum 3 colors to obey the rules for my homeworks because is the trend on companies. I am deffinitely not a fan of it.
i don't see a reason to change most of the logos in the first place, since most logos look fairly modern anyway it just seems like a waste of resources
"We have made this decision after careful consideration for what our brand represents. We intend to make the brand more user friendly, accessible and modern" Sound familiar?
Companies changing their logos is fine with me but the problem I have with it now is that it feels like there are following a trend. I also feel like they lose more readability and uniqueness. I thank like logos should be like video game icons on computers. Some have more detail than others and some are really sample. And they communicate some information about what the game is like.
I think one reason for the simplification is, that they now can use vectors instead of up-/downscaled images, which makes it easier to put the logo on stuff in different sizes
@Danielle Anderson Not a good argument because you can vectorize and raster. You can easily Vectorize the Pringles logo. Discord was already a Vector art. Most of the examples shown in the video were pretty much all Vectors already so scaling was never the issue. The little cuts in the older Discord logo are harder to print on various types of merch (as they said themselves) so that makes sense. It's a practical thing to fix. But arguing that vectorization is the reason is not applicable to pretty much anything unless it's ultra complex which would almost exclusively be relevant in cases like old, old Firefox. I don't think it's a fantastic point. It is a point to take into account but the cases are so rare that you might as well omit it in a general discussion or put in as a small asterisk. Everyone is making vector marketing for logos. It's already by far the norm.
@Danielle Anderson that's very possible but it's sadly at the cost of their lovely mustache man. Even when I didn't buy their snacks, I always remembered and loved their old logo. Still do. It's so welcoming and comfy. Now it's dead.
something like programmer art from minecraft (minecraft comes with a programmer art texture pack that makes all block textures how they were originally
The world according to Mozilla, which is dying because they are letting political correctness get in the way of making good software. They fired their CEO, Brenden Eich, the creator of Javascript, for being a Christian and not supporting Mozilla's political agendas and cancel culture. And it was all downhill from there. Now they are trying to censor traffic on Firefox that doesn't fit their narrative, they keep screwing up the UI to be even worse, the browser works terribly compared to Chrome based browsers, and they are surviving solely on money from Google, because when Google gets called to congress again, they need to be able to say they arent a monopoly for web browsers.
I think what hurts most about the Discord change is that it feels like going corporate, which is what discord has been the antithesis of from its creation. It was the spunky upstar that wanted to take on the big established voice communication platforms. Changing, but especially that it is in a similar way to how you see all the massive brands in silicon valley that feel so detached from the human side of things, is not the feeling people associate with Discord, hanging out with friends.
I also think that part of the reason some people are upset with the new logos is because they've become attached to them. If someone's never seen the new Petco or Firefox logos before, they're likely not gonna care when they see them for the first time. I know I've become attached to some logos, and while it does hurt to see some of their personality get taken away, it's not the end of the world.
which is why I feel confused when people talk about logo changes like Pepsi, I am relatives young so the 'gravitational pull of Pepsi' logo is the one I am familiar with. typefaces especially font is big deal, you read it, you stare on it, means you like it (even not).. like you holding a fire but you really like holding a fire
the old pringles was so good, it felt magical the moustache was iconic and he had a sparkle in his eye. Now when I open the pringles can with the new logo it doesnt feel exciting
Indigo is a really deep and saturated mix of blue and purple, discords original color is blurple, and now they have.. uhhh... what ever the fuck their new color is
@@animdoodle honestly I don't mind the controller change, it's a bit rounder but it's ok, the colour is generally just a bit more annoying to look at, it used to be a quite relaxing shade of purple, and the font actually looks kinda ugly, something about it feels off, like the spacing is wrong or the sizing is off
@@abirneji Yeah, idgaf about the logo. But that _font_ Interestingly, someone (maybe on twitter) merely widened the spacing and everything suddenly became that much more tolerable and readable.
Its definitely sign that people who made the company what it is or was has left and the new guys want to dip their finger so it looks like they are doing something.
They don't realize the logo being easier to reproduce is not a solution, but a problem. If anyone can do it in paint in a few minutes, it means your logo is nothing special. And that your brand is nothing special as well (which is surprisingly honest, though definitely unintended)
Preach
The new pringles logo just looks unfinished to me and it’s specifically because of what you’re talking about
Yeah. Plus, the new logo’s text still has shading and lighting, unlike the new Pringles guy who is completely flat. They could at least keep some consistency when they’re making these changes.
Yeah this and also the shading thing. I couldn’t figure it out but that’s perhaps the worst part about it. But the black mustache looks dumb too
new logo has big monster mouth
I do miss Community Captions, UA-camrs who didn’t want to spend all their time on Captioning their videos didn’t have to. And now because of this change several UA-cam Channels are no longer accessible to deaf people the way they once were.
Don't worry! UA-camrs can still pay other sites to outsource their subtitles! Who needs ramps when you could have coin-op elevators?
I could tolerate the misuse excuse for removing community made subtitles but vids without auto generated subtitles is just plain fuckin stupid. I can just barely understand without subs due to my audio processing issues, like if you're going to turn them off at least speak clearly. Creators shouldn't have to pay to make your site accessible
i think it's because of people putting fake captions or ones that try to put memes
I miss community captions too, especially because they tend to make non-funny videos hilarious. :(
I watch a fair amount of Japanese videos on UA-cam, well, I did when just anyone could translate them...
I think Spotify is one of the case of a logo being simplified correctly. The Spotify word wasn’t really memorable like it is in eBay, and the new logo has the most memorable part at the forefront.
2:48 The worst on is Uber, they went from:
U B E R
to:
Uber
Fr, I’ll be more pissed if they take away those 3 lines,
It is virtually perfect , Nothing more, nothing less…
The problem with Spotify logo is that it's NOT intuitive.
I specifically picked people unfamiliar with logo (I took 73, in fact), showed them the picture and asked what do they think this software is doing.
2 went with flashlight. 71 went with wi-fi.
Except it’s the wifi logo.
But the one thing I hate the most about it is that it's not upright, it's slightly tilted, and that makes me kinda tilted.
I definitely think one of the worst offenders was Google changing all the logos for their different apps to have the same color scheme, but I doing so, made them so similar it's actually noticeably more difficult to differentiate the icons.
Ye that is not oversimplification that is just poor design choices
not to mention colors aside the logos just look awful in general

Tbh the main negative experience I have of the simplification is telling app icons apart. Even in the limited space of streaming video you might be clicking.. one of the blue ones or one of the red ones?

So that's why sketches look better than lineart in alot of cases
Not only personality but it feels like the very soul and happiness is getting taken away, and is twas they want to push a standardized grey bland idea on the Population
I can't help but feel like with this whole flat and bland design language and gradual simplification of designs, they're doing this on purpose, to kill people's individuality, creativity, cheerfulness. To turn the public into a mass of drones without their own opinions or identity, so they can push whichever ideas they want on the Population.

Nice name
It's like they're just words instead of a logo
@@XiELEd4377 they were just "words" in the top logos too. What is your point?
@@mikethepublisher7910 I feel like what they mean, is that logos have personality and character to them. Now they’re just boring words.
They convey the name of the brand but they’re ultimately uninteresting and generic.
We intend to make the brand more user friendly, accessible and modern"
Sound familiar?
Companies changing their logos is fine with me but the problem I have with it now is that it feels like there are following a trend. I also feel like they lose more readability and uniqueness. I thank like logos should be like video game icons on computers. Some have more detail than others and some are really sample. And they communicate some information about what the game is like.
Is this what our future is? A series of geometric shapes and sans-serif fonts?

@@Diwasho *helvetica standard*

I know I've become attached to some logos, and while it does hurt to see some of their personality get taken away, it's not the end of the world.
