      It’s tragic and sad how SO many NFL players seem to die really young. It’s also very hard to explain. There’s no doubt that CTE plays a role in it, but that’s only one part of the story. The other parts of the story are a mystery to me. It’s just a tragic pattern that I’ll never fully understand: if you play in the NFL, then you have an above-average risk of dying very young 😢😢

      @Robert Acosta YUP. The NFL didn't like his religion so they sabatoged him.
      Like when John Scott was nominated to the all-stars and the NHL tried to sabotage him.
      BUT, the fans sparked massive outcry and the NHL actually listened to the fans (amazing concept) and waived the rule that prevented him from being an all-star.
      NFL however thinks it's god.

      I've watched a lot of Bronco games over the years, and the crowd reaction is a Top 5 one, easy. I don't think a lot of people, even Bronco fans, really appreciate how toxic the team's relationship with the fans had become during the Little Joshie McHoodie era, and how critical Tebow's run that season was towards getting a lot of that goodwill back. DT's run at the end of that game was a cathartic experience.

    Tebow is the only QB player to fail in an NFL career without getting a chance to fail. He never got a shot to start after this season and his stats were decent enough when you included rushing and W-L was great. I doubt he would have made it as a starter, but why to never start again was ludicrous.

    • @finewinedaily4997

      Tebow's stats in Denver were terrible. A low QB rating, passer rating and a laughable 46% completion percentage. The defense and running game is what carried the team. He then failed to perform well in practice on either the Jets or Patriots. He was given ample opportunity to prove himself.

    • @IPIRIEY
      @IPIRIEY 6 років тому +45

      he got a shot with the jets, patriots, and offered many other shots. When denver was looking to trade him, jaxsonville offered the best trade, but tebow didnt want to go there. this made jax not want to give him a shot later especially when they drafted bortles. Also, when tebow was starting in denver, their defense carried them in all of those close wins where tebow came back late. All of those scores were 10 to 0, or 13 to 3, all with denvers defense holding it close despite tebow only having 40 yards of offense for the entire game up to the final few minutes at times. Not to say he didn't have clutch plays, but he was really subpar even that remarkable season where they upset the steelers. His true abilities were showcased the following week vs the pats. You see, the pats were able to score and get a 14 point lead, and although tebow had many open receivers, he would either miss them horribly, or he wouldn't make the read and would tuck and run for gains of no more than 2 yards or a sack. Also, Elway never planned to start tebow as he looked terrible in practices, but because the fans kept crying and crying, he gave tebow the shot. When tebow was being traded, the jaguars wanted him and wouldve gave him the start because of his Florida roots. Instead he chose the Jets, where he got "the chance" to battle for a starting spot. He never even won the third string job there, and they wanted him to be there fullback but he declined. He then got many other tryouts at other organizations, and also got offers from CFL teams, however in his tryouts he couldn't even beat out practice squad QBs. You got to remember tebow has terrible throwing mechanics, is bad at making QB reads, and struggles running pro style offenses. Instead of him further working on becoming better at his shortcomings, he gave up and became an analyst.

      @@samjonas5494 he had a lot of drops,& inconsistency, for a very good, quasi elite wr. I still remember in 2015, when he was targeted like 15 times by Brock Osweiller vs New England,& had 1 catch. It wasn't all his fault. Malcom Butler played him great, Osweiller missed some throws, etc. But he get 's a big part of the blame. DT is a great guy,& very good wr. But never quite lived up to his freakish talent. He had Hall of Fame/best Broncos wr ever talent. He was the best wr in 2013..on the highest scoring offense ever,& Peyton had the best qb stats ever. But I don't think he's quite worthy of Hall of Fame. As a?Bronco fan, I'd be thrilled though, if he made it. Certainly not, as long as Rod Smith isn't in. Bronco ring of fame..absolutely. 2nd best Bronco WR I've ever seen since I've been old enough to understand football, since about 1984..probably. Tough to compare eras,& Terrell Davis had like 3,800 yds rushing in 1997,& 1998. Broncos threw it all over the lot in 2013. But Smith was a far better blocker,(other than Hines Ward, the best blocking WR, I've seen..for an elite WR) more consistent,& tougher. I think DT was real good, but he was a bit soft at times-mentally,& physically..or maybe fragile would be a more fair term. I do know this, DT had more ability than Emanuel Sanders,& almost always had more catches/yards. But if it was 3rd,& 9 in the clutch...& you needed somebody to make a tough catch over the middle..I'm trusting Sanders more every time. DT made a lot of big catches, not saying he was a pu#&y, or unreliable. But I think if you gave him truth serum, Peyton would agree. Keep in mind, Sanders was in Pittsburgh during our record setting offensive season. He replaced Eric Decker in 2014, along with Talib, Demarcus Ware,& TJ Ward who showed up to shore up the defense.
      Ironically the 2015 offense was an abject disaster, but we won SB 50. Greatest statistical offense ever in 2013, got murdered in SB 48. (but at least Champ Bailey got to play in 1, before retiring)
      Obviously, the defense,& special teams were the reason why 2015 won it all.(& lady lucky on our side, in several regular season games) 2013 team also was decimated by injuries, while Seattle had great health. Ryan Clady-our stud left tackle, Von Miller, Chris Harris Jr,& Derrick Wolfe all missed SB 48. There were others, that's off the top of my head. Von, Harris,& Wolffe were all huge contributors 2 yrs later-to 1 of the great defenses of All time. But DT was a no show in the 2015 playoffs. Again, not all his fault-Peyton was almost done physically,& that might have been the worst SB oline EVER! He set a SB record for catches in SB 48. But a lot of empty, prevent defense fueled stats in a 43-8 beat down.

      That's a pretty low bar, but he was a fluke. A one trick pony. Running QBs always start fast, then the league catches up to them, and if they can't throw, they are done.

    • @sebclot9478
      @sebclot9478 5 років тому +13

      @@broncojuan , I disagree. He wasn't given the opportunity to develop and succeed. You have a guy with 16 games started, 17 touchdowns, 9 picks, a career 8-6 regular season record, 5 comebacks in the 4th quarter and a playoff win against the defending conference champions. He was better than Trent Dilfer when the Ravens won a Super Bowl, and he had a chance to improve a whole lot. Some guys just find ways to compete, and Tebow stuck me as one of those guys. He probably should have gone to the CFL and proven himself there. I don't know if he would have become the next Kurt Warner or Jeff Garcia, but I think he would have developed into a top 15 QB.

    • @broncojuan
      @broncojuan 5 років тому +9

      @@sebclot9478 Again, he could not throw. His completion percentage is somewhere under 50%. The guy couldn't throw a 5 yard out. He also couldn't read defenses, or check down when his first option was covered, and showed no improvement in those areas in 2 years, not even a little. In fact, some say he got worse. That aspect of the game was too fast for him. So he would tuck and run when option 1 wasn't there. Thus rendering 2-4 players pointless every play. He caught opposing teams of guard with his erratic style of play, but NFL defenses will always catch up to that. He would have been a great FB or maybe a TE (I don't know if he can catch).

    • @sebclot9478
      @sebclot9478 5 років тому +10

      @@broncojuan, Impressive conclusions to draw from only 16 career starts. And yet, he threw 17 Touchdowns to 9 Interceptions, had a winning record, had 5 fourth quarter comebacks, and won a playoff game against the defending conference champs. I don't care what you think of his completion percentage or his ability to read defense. I care that he was able to deliver. His 2011 was better than any season Vince Young put up, and Young played 6 seasons and started 50 games. This nonsense is why there are so many bad teams in the NFL.

    • @broncojuan
      @broncojuan 5 років тому +4

      @@sebclot9478 Completion percentage is by far the most important individual stat mentioned. The team won that year when the young, but talented, defense (Von Miller's first year) played well. The Offense was good for about 20 a game, and the running game was, by far, the strength of the team (you know, where Tebow was actually a solid player). They were second to last in passing offense in 2011. They rarely scored if they had long field, and were wholly dependent of the defense scoring, or giving them a short field if they were going to win. His 120ish yards passing per game is one of the most pathetic stats I've ever witnessed. He delivered nothing as a QB, his "W-L record" (a team stat BTW) rode the coattails of the Defense, the running game, and about 7-8 incredible plays by Demaryius Thomas. His WRs ( and most of the team) didn't want anything to do with him, and his nuts fan base made his being on any team a much bigger distraction than he was ever going to be worth (he would need to put up Payton Manning numbers to make it worth putting up with those wackos). He was a great addition to the running game (#1 rushing team in the league that year), but he couldn't throw, period. As for Vince Young, I called that bust when he was drafted. He was still a better QB than Tebow, but just barely (more total yards passing, and a much higher completion percentage, few more pics but they didn't really mean anything), but if I had to pick one, I'd pass.

      Tebow was a small part of the success that team had that year. He just received an oversized portion of the credit. That was Von Miller's first year and the team won when the D (Von Specifically) played well. The offense was exactly the same with Tebow as it was with Orton.

    • @Liquidmuse3
      @Liquidmuse3 5 років тому +5

      Delfont Beats no he didn’t. Rex Ryan had way too much draft capitol, fresh bonus money, and tattoo ink invested in Mark Sanchez (2 AFC Championship appearances certainly helped). Tebow was never getting that job (while Rex Ryan lost his). Then rank amateur Chip Kelly, even though Tebow had a 90.0 rating in the preseason, cut him, and then lost his job. No coach who ever actually started Tebow and stuck with him ever lost their job. That’s the OPPOSITE of failure.

He could not do any worse....the Brown's QB stats were already bad and they were losing, Tebow's stats were awful when he played, and he won a playoff game. He'd have been cheap, he'd have got people to the games, he would have gotten people talking about something other than the Browns record....I just didn't see a downside. I mean why not last year? After 3 games you knew Keizer wasn't the guy. Doesn't matter now though! Baker Mayfield is the dude! I dont know any Browns fans so let me ask you

    This game still breaks my heart. Along with Gary Anderson and Blair Walsh’s missed kicks. I hope Pitt can finally get their defense back and I hope the Vikings finally win the SB.

      Not with cousins and that's coming from a redskin fan cousins will look great one game and then he will play the most horrible game the next he chokes on primetime television and division games he won't show up for those when you need him to. One thing a bout Alex Smith he had us a 6 and 3 and he only played to division games before he got hurt one both of them back. To back games had us in first over the cowboys and eagles we were a couple of games ahead of them then he got hurt so I would of like to seen what we would of did last year and what we would of did this year if Smith would of stayed healthy

    The NFL had no idea how to deal with Tebow juggernaut.
    It was two phenomenons at once - the NFL...and Tebow.
    Can't have them both!
    One had to go.

      N_ Finnese23 I would argue do it on the love stop. Not that the block wasn’t amazing-it was-but that there were so many little things so that everyone in the world knew steph was just going for 3 and wouldn’t go for 2, even though he could have gone by love

      THIS, clutch offensive plays are a dime a dozen. Guys like LeBron, Irving, Durant shoot daggers all the time but clutch game saving defensive plays are so rare.
