Being a chiefs fan in 2017 was a wild time. You just lost a home playoff game to a team that scored exactly zero touchdowns. I didn’t care about some kid from Whitehouse, Texas’ arm strength. I wanted the guy who had just led his team to two national title game appearances while winning the ladder one. I wanted a winner, and many guys coming out of the Big 12 hadn’t been. Especially someone with a losing record in college as a starter. Five and a half years on from the 2017 NFL Draft, I can more than confidently say that Veach made the right decision. I truly don’t care if we don’t make another super bowl in my life time. Patrick Mahomes brought so much joy to Kansas City and, personally to myself and family as well. Especially watching the game at the focal point of this video. A month before that game, I lost my father who happened to be a huge chiefs fan. He was around for Super Bowl 4 but didn’t remember it. This was the highest he had been on the Chiefs since Montana came to town, and losing him, and losing that AFC title game nearly two months later, broke me. I’m not ashamed to say I cried like a baby the night we won Super Bowl 54. That was years of pain, granted not as much as the Chiefs fan before me had suffered, but I was tired of getting to the playoffs and doing absolutely nothing. The fortunes of the Chiefs changed forever in April of 2017 and they’ll affect all Chiefs fans in a very positive way for a lifetime. Thank you Patrick Mahomes for all you do for this city, and all you mean to me
I don't watch college football and had no idea who any of those QBs were. I watched QB camp with John Gruden and the combine and I knew I didn't want Watson. He couldn't even understand or remember simple plays. I was mad when we traded for Alex and wanted him out every game he started for us.
@ Tyler. Well said sir! Condolences on your loss. Truth be told, I myself have been a long suffering Chiefs fan, (50 yrs). I've shed a tear or two myself after tough losses. As a life long Chiefs fans, I constantly remind myself that I need to enjoy every moment of the Mahomes era. I can't get used to the Chiefs being so amazing, because I remember how awful it was for so many years prior to Mahomes. This is such a special time and who knows how long it will last, but I really hope Mahomes is still around working miracles for the Chiefs in like 5 years when my little boys are old enough to start enjoying it. My oldest is only 3...his favorite athletes are Mahomes and Michael Jordan, but that's just because I always tell him how awesome Mahomes and Jordan are 😂
I started cheering for the Chiefs as a little kid back in 1992. So many years watching Elway, Favre, Manning, Brady, etc., wondering what it would be like to have one of those QBs. You guys put it perfectly, we waited lifetimes for a superhero. The past 4 years have been worth it all.
Whoa Felt like I was reading my experience haha You hit it on the head though. So many great players, coaches, and good runs..but could never close the deal. We didn't have the guy back then. We have *THE* guy now.
I also became a Chiefs fan that year. I was 10 years old and was beginning to realize that I loved football. No one in my family was a fan and I am from KY. At the time the Titans didn't exist so most people here were Bengals fans with a few Colts and (at the time St. Louis) Rams fans sprinkled in. I knew that I didn't want anything to do with those teams and to this day I can't tell you what made me gravitate towards KC. It was probably how striking that Chiefs red is compared to everyone else. Years later because no one likes to suffer alone I convinced my younger brother to join me. Honestly, bonding over Chiefs disappointment all those years was a huge factor in building the unusually close relationship that we have to this day. All of that made watching what 15 brought to this team even more special. Every Sunday since, there has not been a Chiefs game where one of us didn't text the other some version of "How is this guy on OUR team?" That is all for today, thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
My brother drafted Mahomes in fantasy football, in the 6th round, his first year starting under the logic “they replaced Alex Smith with him, maybe there’s something to this guy.” Mahomes carried his season. Fantasy darling Matt Stafford became his backup
I remember my exact words. 12th round, sitting in the room with my buddies. “I’m gonna take a late round flier on this Mahomes guy. I think he could be pretty good.”
When I was three my parents let me choose my own team to be a fan of, my dad was a Saints fan and my mom, a Vikings fan. I'm colorblind and the only color I can see clearly is Red, so I really wanted to like the chiefs. Stuck with it since 2004 and though I'm too young to know all the history I would say it's been my favorite decision in my life. Watching the heartbreak of the Alex Smith era transform into what we have now taught me a lot in life. It's a genuine pleasure to be a Chiefs fan and being one of two Chiefs fans in all of North Dakota paid off eventually! I spent my college money to go see the chiefs win the Superbowl because I had said since I was a kid that if they made it to the Superbowl I would go if I could. I sure miss the money I spent now but the experience was worth everything and more. Same could be said about life as a chief's fan! I doubt anyone will read this, but it was worth saying, a small thing for all this team has given me.
I drafted Mahomes in my 2018 fantasy football draft. I was hoping to get QB who would put up consistent average or above average numbers from week to week. I was worried when I missed out on getting Cam Newton, who was coming off an injury, as my backup QB just in case things didn't work out with Mahomes. I ended up dominating my league because Mahomes put up outrageous numbers every week. I retired from fantasy football immediately after winning my league because there was no way I was ever going to be that fortunate and derive that much joy from fantasy football ever again.
I drafted this guy in the 12th round in my fantasy league. I was starting to understand Football, having only watched half of the Superbowl LII and barely even knowing what was a wide receiver or a first down. Having him on my team helped me a lot to fall in love with football, and I was more than happy for the man a year later, even after I decided to become a fan of these awful Oakland Raiders. Thank you Mahomes, greetings from Brazil
Was there in the stadium for that game. The entire building had the smell of mystery, grace and bbq in the air. All we wanted to see was Patrick just kick ass and see this O shine. The MVP chants were awesome and even Raider fans joined in. Really a beautiful sight.
I'm a Cardinals fan from Brazil and I get to see every single Mahomes game that I can. Watching him it's always watching history in the making. There will never be nobody like him (like there's no other P Manning, Brady or Brees). Let's enjoy as lomg we can.
I was at that Chiefs/Raiders game. After that pass, the entire stadium was chanting "MVP," first time in my life as a Chiefs fan we had anyone like this. It felt so good.
As a Texans fan watching, as I call it "The Meltdown", the Chiefs being down 24-0 was nothing to me. Everyone at my house was so hyped and I just knew the game wasn't even close to being a wrap for us. Some terrible play calling on our side like the fake punt but it takes a special kinda QB/team leader to not let being down 24 early at home phase you. Mahomes is a different breed and I love watching him play. That dude is a grown freaking man!
had my eye on mahomes in college growing up as a wvu fan. couldn’t understand why scouts didn’t have him as the consensus no. 1 qb prospect, let alone outside the first round. he’s the chosen one.
Not only is mahomes a generational talent, he is a very humble and respectful human. He comes across as a great leader and team player. It’s a joy to watch NFL during the Mahomes era.
@@dfp_01 He was thankfully pretty quiet this year. My dad saw him actually working as a bartender in KC so sounds like he grew up at least a little bit
I was at this Raiders game 🤘 Been a Chiefs fan since the coach was Marty and the QB was DeBerg. Saw some playoff wins in the early years, but then KC settled into that long losing drought; no matter if they had 13+ wins or historic offenses or great defenses, it was easy to become acclimated to the expectation that the Chiefs would collapse in the post-season, and even after that win against the Texans in 2015 (which my family celebrated like it was a Super Bowl win), things went back to the normal Chiefs playoff shenanigans with the field goal game, Marcus Mariota catching his own pass, etc. Mahomes not only makes all of that a long distant memory, it's become something that I don't even associate with the Chiefs anymore. Even if, after his tenure is over, the Chiefs slip back into what they mostly had been for those decades between those classic 60s teams and Mahomes coming onto the scene, I'll be happy that I got to live to see a time like this for KC. Go Chiefs.
I am loving this new Chiefs generation. I grew up idolizing Christian Okoye. Watching him play was incredible and now watching Mahomes make history makes all the lean years worth it.
I started watching football in Alex Smith's last season on the Chiefs and the electric play from Kelce and Hill drew me towards the Chiefs as a favorite team to watch. As soon as Mahomes made his debut as a starter I knew that this was going to be the most fun team to watch and its not even close. I don't have a home team, so I don't have the level of intimacy some people do with which team you root for -- all I can say is: if you want to watch the most exciting football, these Chiefs are the team to follow.
Some would argue Allen and the Bills are more fun to watch, particularly matchups between those two QBs and teams, but I totally get your point. Mahomes is an electrifying player who demands the attention and respect of every fan of the sport. Totally changed how the NFL is played.
Im a huge Charger fan and the first game i saw Mahomes i knew my Chargers would not be winning the division for at least 10 years. He is the greatest quarterback i have ever seen play the quarterback position.
I remember watching that game, week 1, in 2018 & wondering what must be going through Charger fans heads. It had to have been kind of terrifying. I know it would be for me if a recently drafted, Raiders QB just started flinging it all over creation.
I remember being at Arrowhead for his first start there against the 49ers. I remember something different in the air that day. And when he ran around like a blind bank robber and hit Conley in the back of the endzone everyone in that stadium knew this was a different animal. If we would have known the joy us fans would get from him.....
I love Mahomes soooooo much!!!The player, the human being. You cant possibly play the position better than Mahomes. A humble leader, supreme talent, and underrated amount of heart and grit
When they jumped up to pick Mahomes early, it was like the heavens opened up and a choir of angels sang. Us Red Raiders knew he was special, but I knew he wasn't "plug-n-play" ready and needed the right circumstance to make the best of his talents. In my wildest dreams I couldn't have imagined a better professional life for him.
When I think of Journey Man QB I think of Josh Johnson, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh McCown, Vinny Testaverde, DeBerg, etc. I don't think a guy who played for 3 teams, was the #1 overall pick, and only traded never a free agent isn't quite your standard JMQB. His story is one hell of a journey though.
I was in the 5th grade and became a fan because of Priest Holmes and Trent Green. There were some tumultuous years in between then and now. It was great having Alex. But seeing Pat doing the things he’s done has been amazing! #chiefskingdom
I am only 25 so I was not able to see Brady step in for Bledsoe or watch Air Jordan his rookie year. Mahomes was the first time I knew I was watching an all time great begin his career
I still wonder what would've happened if the Chiefs had thrown Mahomes into that 2017 playoff game against the Titans. Maybe he makes that one miracle throw and provides enough of a jolt to preserve the lead and the win.
I'm still pinching myself this is real. I've been a fan of the Chiefs since the late 80s. Hell of a time to be alive. All that it took was to bring the apocalypse with our Super Bowl win. I mean no big deal ;)
Yeah he was raw but showed flashes of being able of being a great NFL caliber quarterback, he biggest knocks according to some scouts was his losing record even though football is a team sport. And my point of it being a team sport is only proven when you realize Texas Tech had the WORST defense in the power 5 and it wasn’t close during Mahomes’ time.
It’s not just Mahommes. As great as he is, they have a great owner, coach and talent at skilled positions. Kielce will likely be the greatest TE to ever play the game. I will say, Mahomes has gotten me interested in football again. He’s exciting to watch.
Mahomes literally came into the league like Michael Jordan, bro was pro ready instantly and already one of the best. As a Packers fan watching the decline of guys like Rodgers and Brady this season, I thank God every day we now have Mahomes and Allen to carry the torch in the league.
This video is an example of why coaching matters so much to young quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes, with all his college flaws, could’ve landed anywhere else and probably wouldn’t replicate the success he has now because of Andy Reid’s tutelage and Alex Smith’s mentorship.
This. 100%. It's so common to take a look at all the 1st-round QBs 5 years later and put so many of them into the Bust Bin when really they lacked adequate leadership and support. Without Reid and Smith and all that talent surrounding him, I seriously doubt Mahomes would have even a fraction of the success he's had thus far in KC. I like to look at Josh Allen's development in Buffalo too-he wasn't good right away, but Sean McDermott clearly worked with him to play to his strengths and reduce his inaccuracy and it has paid off in the biggest of ways. Then you have somebody like a Sam Darnold who struggled for years because his coach was one of the worst in this century (and with guys like Urban Meyer and Bobby Petrino, I don't say that lightly) and because he had to start right away for a bad team in the depths of a rebuild. No draft room really ever makes bad picks outright, because there are always numbers and highlights to draw from, but you can't just leave a plant in a dry, dark room and expect it to grow.
The fact that we beat the Colts that playoff run is what made the 2018 season so much more heartwarming. One of my earliest Chiefs memories was going to my grandfathers house (he was a colts fan) with my Priest Holmes jersey and watching neither team punt but somehow the Chiefs still lost in the playoffs. What a time. Still can’t beat the colts regularly but we got them that year lol
Objectively speaking, amazing game. But do Bills fans remember it as fondly? Legit question. I'm still sour over losses that happened 25 years ago in KC so..idk
I'm a vikes fan but I remember my buddy was watching Mahomes since he was a freshman. We played a madden league the first year Mahomes was in it and none of us knew who he was. We did soon enough
I've been a Chiefs fan since the old AFL days. People don't realize that this is the FIRST QB the Chiefs have drafted who turned out to be a success. Every successful QB they had in their entire history was acquired by trade.
Bruce Arians: Mahomes and Andrew Luck had the best pre-draft QB workouts I've seen. I thought for sure when we were in Arizona that we were getting Patrick Mahomes. Sean Payton reminisced. "We watched all the tape, we took him into a room for about half a day, and he was outstanding. Then we go out on the field... I remember when we finished, I told [my staff], ‘We’re going right to the plane. We're not stopping anywhere, no one knows we're here. That's our quarterback.' "...he's the best I've ever evaluated coming out of college", The Chiefs traded their 27th pick to the Buffalo Bills to jump up 17 spots, including over the Cardinals who sat at 13 and Saints at 11. It is interesting that some coaches could see Patrick Mahome potential, while so many others seemed oblivious.
Demarcus Robinson absolutely pimping his TD running backwards into the endzone might be the best part of this moment in history. Nowhere in the rulebook does it say you can't run backwards 😂
Got to watch the Texas tech Oklahoma game. Heard of Mayfield, Perine, Mixon, Westbrook, never heard of Mahomes. Was blown away by Mahomes, was thinking if the Chiefs can draft this dude. Had a argument with a family member after the Alex Smith trade, he said the Chiefs made a mistake. I said did you not watch the Broncos game, Albert Wilson almost had 200 yards receiving that day, he never had output like that with Alex Smith. Mahomes make everybody better, I saw him battle back and forth with Oklahoma, once you see what he can do, you'll forget about Alex Smith, Mahomes is like a souped up Elway or Favre, he can make every throw on the field.
It's wild that the only thing left to accomplish for Mahomes is stacking rings. Lotta guys never got one, let alone multiple. I've never seen ANYONE play the game like Patrick. There's a handful of guys in history that had one or two of his talents...but nobody has ever had it all. And then you think about the arm angles...improvisation...left handed...SUCCESSFUL no-look passes...curveballs cutting under a lineman's armpit...throws across his body and the field...and even his impeccably timed runs....I hope everyone can get past their own teams Fandom to appreciate what we're seeing. And how about all the other talented QBs ...Allen, Burrow, Tua, Herbert, Hurts, Lawrence, Lamar....that we will get to watch battle each other for years to come. Great time to be a football fan.
Being from Kansas City, it’s amazing to a small market team like us finally get some recognition. Thank you Secret Base for giving us this recognition, but how about a reminder on the 2015 Royals winning the city out first championship in 30 years!!!
I wouldn't exactly call KC a small market. I mean it's not huge but having all of Western Missouri, most of Kansas and a majority of residents in Omaha it's hitting over 5 million individuals in its tv market which is quite a bit bigger than places like Buffalo or Jacksonville and because of very recent success putting them more in the spotlight they have only grown since 2010.
25:years! 😂 I sufferd through Cassel, Croyle, Thigpen, Palko, Huard, Quinn, and to a certain extent Green and Smith (which I'd say were our only 2 decent QBs we've had in the last 20 years!) So when I play Madden and hear ppl say "you bandwagon chiefs fan" I name all our QB's we've had (like I just did) and then say "after the QB's I've had to play with growing up (I only play with the chiefs since 04, shout out Dante Hall and my fav chief of all time Priest Holmes!) I deserve to play with Mahomes!! And they usually say "oh wow I'm sorry you had to go thru that! 😂 😂
I grew up in Colorado as a Broncos fan, but as a fan of football I am absolutely a Mahomes fan. He will be the most talented QB in history when he retires!
Great video! It is really funny to see all the disparaging analysis information on Mahomes now! Bret Veach should have a GM job for the Chiefs as long as he wants it. Mahomes is not just a great QB, he seems to be a really great person. His mom and dad did a helluva job raising him.
I've been watching football for 25 years and no one has caught my eye like mahommes. And honestly we can all thank Smith. He taught mahommes so much in that first year that it was the chance mahommes needed to be great. And now look. 😌😌
I’ve heard people say it’s Pats basketball background that allows him to make such off script throws and flick of the wrist… wrong. Anybody whose played baseball sees a shortstop when he makes some of those throws. I’ve said my entire life a shortstop who doesn’t mind getting hit and is above 6ft is a quarterback on someone’s team. It’s because you rarely find arm talent with an array of mobility in the feet and hips. People think it’s his flash and his no look that make him good; no. It’s the fact that while being right handed, his hips basically make him ambidextrous. Therefore no matter if you flush him forward or back, left or right, he’s is ALWAYS able to hit you if he catches you in his field of vision. And with that, if you watch some of these over, he’s literally creating throwing lanes, not finding them. It’s unreal people.
I've been a Chiefs fan my entire life and I've been waiting for my team to draft a first round quarterback and they finally did and we got a quarterback and a magician🎩 (CHIEFS KINGDOM)
All during Smith's last year in KC, he was having his best season, we were hearing murmurs out of Chiefs practices that Mahomes was ridiculous, like so much so that when he got a chance to play, it was going to be all over for Smith. Then that Denver game, Mahomes made at least 4 'franchise' throws, which was about as many as Smith had made his entire best season of his career. Then that ugly playoff loss. Then the trade. Then we went out and got Watkins. Right after we got Sammy, I built a bandwagon and started telling everyone what was about to hit the NFL. I like to think that Nick Wright is the only other guy that openly predicted what was about to happen, but I know there were plenty others. I like that Patrick is willing to structure his contract so that he has a team to play with out there. He is as close to perfect for Kansas City and the fans of this franchise as any player ever has been.
Only real Chiefs fans remember the grinding days of Trent Green, Tong G, Tamba Hali ect. those teams always were a piece or 2 away and having to play a stacked AFC with Brady, Mannning ect. It felt so good to finally be able to see us actually contend and win a freaking playoff game finally lol. What Mahommes brings is so appreciated because Chiefs fans deserve it, we had been disrespected for years and now we have the juice and are the team to beat.
Or watching Elway, Marino, Moon, and Kelly beat us all the time... Or suffering with Grbac over Rich Gannon... Or that dang Kicker Who Shall Not Be Named...
How can people hate this guy? Great leader, unbelievable talent, goofy personality. I get that it's annoying to have the face of the league shoved in your face all the time, but...

Gen X had Joe Montana the Millenials had Brady Gen Z the Zoomers have Patrick Mahomes Jr
and just like Brady and Montana their's a large group of others whose names are venerated even though they are not the generation's QB Peyton and Eli Rodgers Farve Brees Marino Burrow Allen Russ Hurts Jackson and looking at things Lawrence might join such Venerable status
Whoa
Felt like I was reading my experience haha
You hit it on the head though. So many great players, coaches, and good runs..but could never close the deal. We didn't have the guy back then. We have *THE* guy now.
Patrick Mahomes--the one we've been waiting for all this time. You''re goddam right.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 well said
My brother drafted Mahomes in fantasy football, in the 6th round, his first year starting under the logic “they replaced Alex Smith with him, maybe there’s something to this guy.”
Mahomes carried his season. Fantasy darling Matt Stafford became his backup
I drafted him late as well cause I saw how he could sling the ball. Nonetheless I won the league by a long shot
I did the same thing because I watched the meaningless week 17 game and liked him
I remember my exact words.
After the left-handed throw against DEN, I shouted at the TV to Broncos County: “NOW YOU GET TO SEE HOW IT FEELS”!!!
I'm a Cardinals fan from Brazil and I get to see every single Mahomes game that I can. Watching him it's always watching history in the making. There will never be nobody like him (like there's no other P Manning, Brady or Brees). Let's enjoy as lomg we can.
Josh Allen is gonna be really good too
As a Bills fan...
I will still watch this video because I love this channel, and I appreciate football outside of its competitive nature.
Chiefs fan since 1976 bless Patrick Mahomes heart and soul amen be who you are love ya bro. Uncle Angelo from ft Lauderdale florida chop chop chop 🥩🤣
"[Patrick Mahomes] was no Mitch Trubisky" That turned out to be...very correct, at least, but in the wrong direction. 😂
This is like CANDY for any chiefs fan!!! Well done and THANK YOU! #GoChiefs! ❤💛
had my eye on mahomes in college growing up as a wvu fan. couldn’t understand why scouts didn’t have him as the consensus no. 1 qb prospect, let alone outside the first round. he’s the chosen one.
Not only is mahomes a generational talent, he is a very humble and respectful human. He comes across as a great leader and team player. It’s a joy to watch NFL during the Mahomes era.
If only his brother was that way lol
@@bmac4 As a Chiefs fan, I sincerely hope Jackson grows up and stops trying to mooch his brother's success. He's dragging us all down with him
@@dfp_01 dood wut? 😂
sounds like he’s living rent free in your head homie
@@dfp_01 He was thankfully pretty quiet this year. My dad saw him actually working as a bartender in KC so sounds like he grew up at least a little bit
This channel is so amazing. Binge all the series so frequently.
Right! I feel like I've watched every video in this series like 5 times. Good stuff.
The “this is a moment in history” always hits different
I was at this Raiders game 🤘
Been a Chiefs fan since the coach was Marty and the QB was DeBerg.
Go Chiefs.
My god. Even if I'm not a fan, the moment in history always gives me chills.
I am loving this new Chiefs generation. I grew up idolizing Christian Okoye. Watching him play was incredible and now watching Mahomes make history makes all the lean years worth it.
The 2000s Chiefs had so much talented players but sadly they never good QB or a proper coaching staff to get them over the hump
How do you not mention Kareem Hunt with those two?
been waiting so long for any type of episode on Mahomes. easily my favorite player to watch since he became the starter in 2018 😭
Im a huge Charger fan and the first game i saw Mahomes i knew my Chargers would not be winning the division for at least 10 years.
I agree. That first game was night and day
I remember being at Arrowhead for his first start there against the 49ers.
We take for granted what he’s done so far that first season was so incredible we expect way to much from him
He's truly amazing
I watched him play at Texas Tech vs Baylor in Cowboy Stadium, 2016, and took my dad. He still talks about that game. What a talent.
This man brought the city life in more ways than one
I was in the 5th grade and became a fan because of Priest Holmes and Trent Green. There were some tumultuous years in between then and now. It was great having Alex. But seeing Pat doing the things he’s done has been amazing! #chiefskingdom
Shoutout for the Priest Holmes pull man. Those offenses were electric. Never thought I'd see anything better til we got what we have now
Yeah, I'll never dog Alex, but we had to make room for Mahomes.
That’s crossed my mind every once in awhile as well
I'm still pinching myself this is real. I've been a fan of the Chiefs since the late 80s. Hell of a time to be alive. All that it took was to bring the apocalypse with our Super Bowl win. I mean no big deal ;)
It’s so funny looking at these scouting reports of Mahomes, it’s crazy how much he changed the way scouts view qb prospects
its hilarious reading Mahommes' scouting reports, even just 5 years later
"Scouts said he was no Mitch Tribusky" omg that gave me a laugh. They were right. Mahomes doesn't suck
Patrick Mahomes is incredible, a truly once in a generation talent 👏👏👏
I was at that raiders game and I can still remember it like it just happened
Mahomes literally came into the league like Michael Jordan, bro was pro ready instantly and already one of the best. As a Packers fan watching the decline of guys like Rodgers and Brady this season, I thank God every day we now have Mahomes and Allen to carry the torch in the league.
Allen doesn't get enough love
@@Alyumic his first two years were rough, but finally got it together in 2020
@@ChiefBlue4298 yeah but in his third game he hurdled someone almost as tall as him so it's not like he always sucked he just got better
@@Alyumic he did kinda have a bad game against the Texans in the wildcard that year, but eh, learning experience.
Josh Allen don’t compare to Mahomes. Mahomes 10 levels better
This video is an example of why coaching matters so much to young quarterbacks. Patrick Mahomes, with all his college flaws, could’ve landed anywhere else and probably wouldn’t replicate the success he has now because of Andy Reid’s tutelage and Alex Smith’s mentorship.
Imagine him in Chicago💀
This.
Wow, it’s crazy to have actually gone to one of these games for once. I witnessed history in the flesh 😩
4:05 I wouldn't call Alex Smith a journeyman, KC was just his second team and he ended up playing for 3
Great video man. Really enjoyed this one.
I was at this game. It was beautiful
0:00 - 12:54 this moment in history ❤️ Well done on the content 💯💯💯💯
FINALLY BEEN WAITING FOR YOU DO THIS!!!!!! YOUR BEST IN GAME AT THIS!!!

Reeeeally liked the production quality of this video with the cut breaks of the play.
I was literally just thinking about you guys as I was logging onto UA-cam. Great video as always!
Still awaiting the Chiefs-Bills Divisional rewind
One of the best games of all time
@@Silverswooosh fr
Objectively speaking, amazing game.
But do Bills fans remember it as fondly? Legit question. I'm still sour over losses that happened 25 years ago in KC so..idk
I am a life long Chiefs fan from So Cal. I was sitting on the goal line about 7 rows back when Robinson crossed backwards for the 50th TD.
That's our quarterback.' "...he's the best I've ever evaluated coming out of college",
The Chiefs traded their 27th pick to the Buffalo Bills to jump up 17 spots, including over the Cardinals who sat at 13 and Saints at 11.
It is interesting that some coaches could see Patrick Mahome potential, while so many others seemed oblivious.
Excellent video sir!!! I know that took a lot of time and effort to make it!
👏👏👏
Go Chiefs!!!
Mahomes is just so much fun.
Possibly the greatest talent we’ll ever see at QB
This whole season was surreal for Mahomes
Couldnt finish the job though... Patriots happened.
Being from Kansas City, it’s amazing to a small market team like us finally get some recognition. Thank you Secret Base for giving us this recognition, but how about a reminder on the 2015 Royals winning the city out first championship in 30 years!!!
Sporting KC won the MLS championship in 2013 and 2000.
@@loganleroy8622 Let’s be honest the vast majority of KC sports fans don’t care about the soccer team
For example: There is now a chiefs fan base in Northwest Arkansas that didn't really exist before 2010.
I was at this game - first time ever in person. What a night!
Yeah, Way 2 Go, Secret Base! Go, Chiefs! ❤️💛
Says….. the Jets fan? 🤔
Mahomes at the peak of his powers is the most unstoppable force the NFL has ever seen
That whole history setup for the play had me locked in! Great video. I'll sub for sure.
Oooh I’ve been waiting for a secret base like this for a while!!!
I grew up in Colorado as a Broncos fan, but as a fan of football I am absolutely a Mahomes fan. He will be the most talented QB in history when he retires!
Im a chiefs fan but he gotta win us another SB and win a another league MVP if he wants to be in the GOAT discussion
Fantasy league winners remember 2018 very well. Myself included. He was my full time starter week 2 and I never lost a game again.
Great video! It is really funny to see all the disparaging analysis information on Mahomes now! Bret Veach should have a GM job for the Chiefs as long as he wants it. Mahomes is not just a great QB, he seems to be a really great person. His mom and dad did a helluva job raising him.
Great video... Especially how you structured it 👍
I've been watching football for 25 years and no one has caught my eye like mahommes.
This is a beautifully made video
Collapse: Denver Broncos Post Super Bowl 50 (no fly zone)
Broncos country, let’s cry!
"Convinced he was no Mitch Trubisky" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 hahahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂
I've been a Chiefs fan my entire life and I've been waiting for my team to draft a first round quarterback and they finally did and we got a quarterback and a magician🎩 (CHIEFS KINGDOM)
2:30 the laces being fully visible for Trubisky sums up his NFL career
Chiefs fan since 1975, it's been a long tough slog.
I am a big tech fan and I will say his success is not a surprise to red raider nation
I didn't think Patrick Mahomes would do a whole lot. Considering he was a back up in his rookie season. He definitely proved me wrong.
That era was so fun and exhausting being a Chiefs fan ! But man was It a hell of a ride
Chiefs fans lucky man they get to watch Footballs MJ for 20 more years enjoy it
Only real Chiefs fans remember the grinding days of Trent Green, Tong G, Tamba Hali ect. those teams always were a piece or 2 away and having to play a stacked AFC with Brady, Mannning ect. It felt so good to finally be able to see us actually contend and win a freaking playoff game finally lol. What Mahommes brings is so appreciated because Chiefs fans deserve it, we had been disrespected for years and now we have the juice and are the team to beat.
Or drafting Todd Blackledge over Dan Marino................
*Jon Bois liked that*
