I sold my gt2 and rc10t2 (aluminum tub chasis from back when everyone thought a chasis should be as stiff as possible back in the 90's). Now it seems like the car's handle better, but they seem more "flexy", and less durable too, what is up with that??
You know what would be good to go with the excellent info you discussed? If you actually pointed the camera at the adjustment screws so we could see exactly what you were doing.
OKI broke my different and all that everything worked out good there but when I go to hold the back tires and hit the throttle my motors like rotate and what's going on with that
I just switch my RC10 T3 over to a brushless system, the factory slipper can’t handle it, do you know of any aftermarket slipper clutch that will fit my rc10 ?
Mine never lifts up off the ground no matter what I do. It goes around the track smoothly though. Could I need to rebuild the diff already with new balls?
I purchased a sc10 rtr it has the sc600-bl esc , the truck seems slow. I'm running a two cell wolf pack. (Battery it came with) does this have race mode....ecetra ..ecetra..I guess likes a traxas ...sport , race , beginner ..sorry for using that as comparison..
@@STEVOD313 You can set it with the same principal only without the factor of adjusting the diffs. Hold the rear wheels, give it gas, set it so the front wheels come off the ground the same amount as I showed in this video (about 1-2 inches or so)
So how tight should the nut be as per first build, before adjusting…(manual says flush with end of pin). This is far too loose, I’ve now tightened, no barking but can’t get the front wheels to jump. Don’t want to over do it, or am I being too careful? Does it need to be toghter
So I've got a b6d..I'm trying to set this up. I can clearly hear the tone change, but between tone changes and adjustments, it never lifts up the front tires? I thought the car was really slow for 7.5t motor..but I'm brand new to 2wd buggy / racing. Any ideas?
I have the Prosc10 trophy...I have a ???? pinion gears and spurs..I bought a 24 tooth pinion,,not thinking,,now what size spur is needed.. is there a list of matching gears someplace? up and down cause i want to get a 14 also..
Late response BUT - you want to gear for the track/track surface, and ESC/motor temps. However a larger track with longer/more straights will want a taller ratio (larger pinion/smaller spur) vs a short/technical track that will favor a lower ratio (smaller pinion/larger spur). Find a base ratio to use for the track you're running, and adjust it for ESC/motor temps from there. On RC10.com - click on the model you have, and click/find the download/instructions area - there is whats called setup sheets - you can view team drivers setups of a specific models settings - I based my SC6.1 build off one of the sheets listed for a short track, and adjusted the listed gear ratio according to the out of the box setup as my local indoor track is TINY and technical vs my local outdoor (large 1/8 scale track).
Whaat..?? rebuild your diff because of those 3 tests.. f.. you are scaring me. What about the slipper eliminator? Doesnt that completely mess up your diff then ? And what about just reversing the slipper shaft and fastening it to the other end? To make space for a fan? Can that work?
Tj Eller interesting as my HW pro stock 80amp esc with a 17.5 motor just cogs when setting the slipper this way. I never had this issue when i ran mod with a different brand higher amp esc (Tekin RSX with a motiv 6.5).
Thank you T.A. Back into the hobby after a 25yr hiatus. Awesome.
I’m just learning to work on RC’s and this was really helpful! Thank you!!!
I found this very helpful. A physical way to see clutch action. 🙌
Super helpful, thanks! Im pretty confident you saved me breaking parts before I even get started.
Nice work dudes!
Thanks for this presentation, others just shows you how too adjust but will not explain why. Great video
Let's do proper diff build and shock build please!!!
Incredible info. Thanks for sharing, any additional tuning or adjustments would be great.
Sensational video. I thought I'd butchered my diff/slipper however this vid and a bit of perseverance sorted it. Thank you so much.
man i loved my rc10gt back in the day i still have a new inbox 10 gt and a gt2 in with people where still into nitro

Great, thank you!
I found this video helpful so I hit the Like button
Very helpful I'm guessing this works for 4wd to👍
These are great videos. Please do more like this.
thanks for making this! Very helpful! Just got my slipper set! thanks TJ and AE team!
You know what would be good to go with the excellent info you discussed? If you actually pointed the camera at the adjustment screws so we could see exactly what you were doing.
So does this only work on ball diff not the other?
I watched your video and I see how it's supposed to go but my motors like rotate am I doing something wrong
Slipper eliminator? What do u think about it?
Does the same set up apply for the trophy rat
how do you set your truck slipper? im assuming the same method doesnt apply as the truck weight is different?
Hi ,gear diff. is the same setting?
Nicely done Tj!
Does this testing method work on all brands of trucks and on 4x4 as well as 2wd

Hi it’s another Tj from West Virginia
Awesome video! That was very helpful TJ!
Thank you. Easy to understand.
This method work on a slash 4x4?

Good info, but what if ur running 4wd?
for setting the slipper

Hi there. Is this method a good choise for the DR10 Drag Racer too?
HI , RC10B64 Geardiff 2WD, I according to your video , but the car would not putup the front wheel ,WHY ???
Thank you I needed that!
Thanks for sharing Sir👍👍👍

Should have confirmed b6.3
AWD nitro?
great video. but it would be nice to see everything you are doing. maybe turn the car sideways so it can be seen what you are doing. thanks

what about ball diff clutches? the clutch on my HPI mini recon is too loose, and how do i tighten it?
Good video THX👍👍
I got a HotRacing gear diff for my T6.1
what if the motor just cogs when you get it tightened just past the point of slipping?? just guess??
What about for the b44.2?
Does this also apply to a SC6.1 with a gear diff? Thank you!
This applies to every rc car.
@@RC-ty5ym No it doesnt
@@bis4blair why?
I thought if your slipper is set to tight the front wheels would lift a lot more, when you over tightened the slipper the wheels didn't lift at all?

thanks, great video
When you gonna re release another vintage RC-10?
I want the rc10t re release. The world doesnt need another buggy re release haha
What is the best setup for outdoor dirt tracks with lower grip and for high grip?
Do you set the B64 slipper the same way?
Yup, only there are no ball diffs to adjust so it's even easier. I set the 4wd so the front wheels come off the ground the same amount as the 2wd.
Good info bro
Why do you have a ball diff?
Because I race on dirt and I like the ball diff.
@@tjeller9345 is the Balldiff with the MIP Pucks good for 13.5 carpet? (Highgrip)
@@Max-hy9ud I don't recommend using the pucks on carpet with a 13.5 setup. The components wont last with that much power.
Hi , RC10 b64 2wd geardiff. in your video 1:16 but my car would not to popup !I had try to loose and tight nut .!!!!PLS
I like to have it slip just a little on my stampede so I don’t chew out the gears
Whaat..?? rebuild your diff because of those 3 tests.. f.. you are scaring me. What about the slipper eliminator? Doesnt that completely mess up your diff then ? And what about just reversing the slipper shaft and fastening it to the other end? To make space for a fan? Can that work?
Aaah sorry was for a ball diff.. makes sense
shoot most of my cars are so tight they just do a whole wheelie if I try that
This method doesnt work on people running low amp ESC and 17.5 motors
A 17.5 motor will pickup the front end like this but usually in stock racing the slipper is locked down to prevent slipper and power loss.
Tj Eller interesting as my HW pro stock 80amp esc with a 17.5 motor just cogs when setting the slipper this way. I never had this issue when i ran mod with a different brand higher amp esc (Tekin RSX with a motiv 6.5).
Geez there has to be a better way especially for newbies
Bark one time and your screwed?like really? There has to be a better design then this lol. I run gear diffs in my sc6 and there just fine
@Gregory Bjorn you totally didn’t switch accounts
The manual says to oil the clutch and I know that's not right team associated sucks...
