I adore that Ginger’s family found her through Pony Tales. We could all see how much the family loved her and was hurt by the struggles she had experienced. I have no doubt that she will be well loved the rest of her life.
@whispersinthedark88 well it sounded like the original owner sold her around 5+ years ago and the one who had her in a malnourished state sold her more like one year ago... so she went downhill in someone's care that we didn't meet... so she should be going back to a good home...at least they were screened for it, this time around...
I have two 27 year old Irish Cobs, I've had them for 23 and 17 years. They are enjoying their retirement life. We've had a few health issues with my big and heavy Cob, lost an eye in February but he's now completly healed and fit. They give me so much pleasure and I could never imagine having to surrend them. I have made plans for them if something was to happen to me so they don't have to move out of our stables.
I was so happy to hear more of Ginger's story and I'm glad she's going home again to a place she knows to live out her days. I hope they have many more happy years with her. Congratulations on FINALLY getting that Xray machine!! Woohoo!
So many happy adopters beginning their journeys of discovery and healing for these horses! It is beautiful to watch adopters adapt to the horse’s needs and accept their responsibility. Bless each and every one of them!
Would love it if y’all thought about starting a second channel for your medical procedures, like Horse Plus did! I’m sure I’m not the only one interested in seeing that side of it. Also, it could possibly be another stream of income for y’all. Just my thoughts! Thanks for the videos either way!❤️
A piece of advice when needing an xray of the foot/hoof..Place the foot on a 2 by 4 piece of wood then take the xray..it lifts the foot so you can get it all in the x-ray.. so pleased with so many adoptions..and lovely Ginger got to go to her original owners who were clearly sad that she had been discarded because of her age and health issues..she will have a wonderful retirement with them..Zelda got adopted too..she is going to get a fair bit of exercise l think😂.. and Bing..I'm glad he got adopted in-house so to speak..you never know what treatment he might have got being so orrery.. so pleased Magic is being given a chance to see if her feet are livable..That first Donkey was a turd ..!! Gosh he's got some temper tantrums on him..hopefully the castration will calm the booger down a bit anyway..🤞😂.. Jack was having fun running around that field..probably the best fun he's had in months..then he toots when you're filming..he is hilarious..such a character..love what you all do..I've been watching from when you got joined up with Horse Plus..keep up the amazing work ya'll do..God Bless you all..🇬🇧💞🙏✝️👍👏🐎🐴🇺🇸
So please Caesar was adopted...that huge hunk of love, he deserves a good home. Branded 451, he did his time and survived whatever it was to go to a happy loving home. What a guy!❤
Finally!! The x-ray machine!! SO happy for you. Hope you've got all the glitches worked out and it's all going smoothly. Snow up there already!! Uhggg 😖. Take care and stay warm!! 🥰 ♥️
So glad your adoption was so successful. You guys do such a wonderful job finding new homes for everyone. Congratulations too on having your own x-ray. Now you will be able to give the horses everything they need to get better.♥️🐴👍😁
OMGAWD gingers story is precious that sweet baby goes back to your original owner all I’m just about ready to break down and ball my eyes out that is the sweetest thing ever bless those original owners, sweet hearts.
Good job staying on! Lots of groundwork for that first horse. Count to 20 once you're on before even thinking about moving. Check out Steve Young for problem horses and Free Spirit Equestrian if your horse is really good. Love the way the founder leads horses - loose leash way in front of the horse rather than right beside the horse. Hope that helps.
Another absolutely great episode, you are doing such an amazing job! All of the adoptions have made me so happy! And Ginger‘s adoption pulled at my heartstrings. I am so happy for her reunion! You guys finally have the X-Ray machine, yay 🎉🎉🎉 I am so happy for you and the horses. Dr. Kristin and Pauly in one episode working together. Couldn’t get any better 😊 You already had snow, wow 😮 It’s great your vet tech volunteer supported all the castrations. What a great help! So amazing to see the x-ray machine in action 🙏
So glad to see that Ginger is back were she belongs. Congratulations to the x-ray maschine. Finaly its in place. Dr Kristin and Pauly are always a pleasure to see in work. Bless you all for the work you do.
That 1st pony who you had to fight just to get the needle in b4 castration, a just gelded horse had a heart to heart w/ him & warned him about that needle! 🐎🙀😹
That’s awesome that Gingers family from earlier have refound her and are giving her a good home for the rest of her days. It must be horrible to find out that your once owned horses have had such a terrible life after being sold, thinking they had found decent homes and would be taken further proper care of them, but didn’t. It must be devastating. At least her last days will be easy . Bless you good people for taking her back❤️. Wow, that was a hard case of trying to sedate that wee fella - sure kicked up a hell of a fuss lol. What an attitude - hope he gets better now he is castrated lol. That was awesome that so many wonderful people are adopting horses again and hopefully they will all get decent forever homes and be happy and healthy for ever after lol - good things do happen - it’s always possible. It was a lot to be adopted and lmmao, people even coming the evening before to make sure they got their dream horse - now that’s what I call fantastic for these days! 👍🏼 I also like your Vet who is helping out. Sie is good and truly looks and listens to the horses and tries to help if possible. Girls, you are going to have so much fun with that X-ray Maschine - you were so lucky to have gotten it like you did. It would have otherwise taken like forever to have paid it off So happy about that - It will be a game changer for sure. Great episode as always. You have made something huge with Pony Tales - it’s awesome, you all are ❤️
I know giving your animals "the last act of kindness" is difficult but not fair to pass it off to others. They gave their owners their all and then discarded when they needed them the most.😢 But it's better than auction.
Loved the story of the reunion of a past owner!! This video was amazing! It was interesting to see the horses go down for surgery. You may get viewers not liking it, but I say YES!! Show everything!! Great job on the adoption process!! Congratulations getting the x ray machine, that's going to change a lot of horses outcome. Fancy doors too! Looking forward to next week you gyes rock!!❤❤❤
Do you think Ginger remembered them, or is it different for horses? I guess its a sad testimony of what can happen when you sell a horse. Glad they all got their second chance together.
I wish CA had an organization like yours. We do have horse rescues but they charge 3 and 4 times more than your rescue charges. You do fantastic work and I’ve been watching Horse Plus for at least 5 years now.
I just watched a video by Caleb over at 3 crosses farrier and thought of you guys. He was doing a massive abscess (title of the video) and he was working with a vet. They xrayed the foot from the top of the hoof downward, and to make the image clearer, they used playdough to pack the commisures for better contrast. The images were crystal clear.
OMG the ginger story is so sweet I just love that story and look at those people get her back to live out the rest of her years with them O how wonderful. Ooo how I love nugget,
I think Jack had been waiting all day for an audience to show off his best evasive moves to. It's wonderful how so many adopters showed up. I thought Beauty might be with you for awhile with her kicky feet. I've dealt with some kickers over the years, but I don't recall ever having one quite that reactive. She's really got it hardwired at this point. It makes me wonder how she got that way. It would be so nice if they could speak English and tell their stories. Maybe Elon's neurolink will make conversations with animals easier someday LOL. That would be cool! The Ginger reunion was really cool too. I had a mare that out of nowhere foundered/laminitis something terrible on all 4. We tested all of her feed and did the corrective shoes and she did great for 2 years. She had a thyroid tumor that we held off on surgery until she was stable with no further laminitis, but after the surgery she had another bout. It didn't seem nearly as severe as the first time and she didn't seem nearly as painful. We did more x-rays and another set of heartbar shoes and restricted her feed even further and added medication. 4 weeks later she was in pain again. We did more x-rays and her coffin bone was starting to push through. She was only 9 years old when she had that first bout. We had tried everything, spent thousands of dollars trying to save her, but the moment that picture showed up I knew it was over. Everyone at the university vet hospital that had worked with her over those couple of years were in love with her. There were more tears than mine shed that day. I can not believe Magic was not more painful. The deterioration of the coffin bone is almost a silver lining, for a little while anyway. I can see why his owners couldn't put him down when his pain is manageable with a little bute. That would be a tougher call than being able to justify it to stop the pain and suffering my mare was in.
I found your channel a little over a week ago and have been binging your videos since! Thank you for what you do for the animals in your care even if they are little troublemakers like Merrimack was when he decided to take off and mingle with the new quarantine horses immediately after you'd brought a bunch from an auction and then of course while Dr Kristin was trying to sedate him for his castration. There were a couple of places during Merrimack's castration that the audio from two different segments of video overlapped. I know nothing about video editing so I'm not criticising, just pointing it out. :)
Im sure you have it well in hand, but when i was still working with Ultrasound imaging in the human world, whenever we purchased a new or reconditioned macine the company sent a representative out for a half day to help us techs get it all going. Its worth an ask. If you dont tell them, they may notbknow you are struggling. Just a suggestion, you ladies rock the house!
This was a wonderful video. I am so happy for y’all having your x-ray machine it will get better lol but this just improves you care for the horses knowing what they need and what you can’t provide or what you can provide but you already know this can’t wait till the next video.
Action-packed video! So good to see. Yayyyy that the xray machine is there and eventually looks like it's doing what it is meant to do. Thanks guys so much. Looking forward to the next one x
That x ray machine will be a huge benefit, it’s an impressive piece of technology. Since it’s all digital there’s not even a cost per image? Or do they have limited number of exposures?
What's up with the mud where those 2 Shetlands were? Since its just a small pen, can't you put gravel in those areas? Please pick up the board in the riding field, the horses keep tripping on it. Thanks! KUTGW!
Not sure how I found your YT chanel. I think it just popped up one night whilst sitting in bed...... and since I've been binge watching!!!! AND so eager for you to releasd the next vid post. You truly are such an amazing, caring and dedicated team there. I hope my likes will help grow your chanel and I will be monthly supporting you ❤
The horse that bucks looks like he's in pain either his legs, bridle or saddle..That's my first quess.. He looks uncomfortable walking, taking short steps?
Do you guys have an explanation of how you approve adoptions? Are you guys able to check out their new placement before they leave? Also, do you guys have a return policy such that if the family ever reaches point where they cannot properly care for the horse(s) that you guys placed that they are always welcome back (and required to come back) to the rescue if placement fails for any reason? I so LOVE and APPRECIATE ALL that you guys do for so many animals in need!!! I'm in awe!❤
We run thorough background checks on all of our adopters and ask for photos of shelter and fencing. We are able to view properties on certain platforms. We check for any history of abuse, neglect, ect. All adopted horses are welcome back at our shelter, free of charge. Adopters are also able to exchange for a better fit if the horse they adopted ends up not working out as planned. Bringing the current adopted horse back, and trying a new pal. Hope this helps!
While you tried to catch Jack running all across the pasture, I was just thinking, how awkward would it be, if it turned out that the reason why the owner isn't there, is because it's the wrong adress 😂
Seeing the "levels" on the adoption wall, I wonder if that is like a difficulty level? With Beauty being a 4, and the more unhandled ones being a 5. Is it so that the adopters are approved up until a certain level? Because I assume you wouldn't let a green horse owner adopt a high needs horse. Either way I trust that you vet. the homes and know what they are going to. And so I am happy even the more difficult horses gets a permanent home with someone willing to work with their limitations :) It frees up room in your rescue that otherwhise would have taken months and months, if not years to properly train and rehab.
Yes. We level the horses and the adopters, so like you said, a level 1 adopter (beginner) would not be able to adopt a level 2 and up horse unless they have a trainer lined up to work with them.
OMG…. Ball party today. LOL Dr. Kristen is the best I’m not loving that new vet you have that guy, that BIG guy. Merrimack knows what you’re up to look at that little fart spinning around in that stall. Night night, Merrimack.
I'm confused. With Ginger, did the original owners sell her to someone that then sold her to someone else, and that's how you got her? So she was sold to the 3rd owners amaciated? And they got her back on track. But then surrendered her to you after they couldn't use her? Is that the way I understand it? I'm asking because it was kinda confusing with her original owners being the ones that had her and sold her, or did they just give her away? I'm asking because who had her amaciated? That's my only question. It was really confusing. But yay, she found her original family and will be with her baby again. ❤
I adore that Ginger’s family found her through Pony Tales. We could all see how much the family loved her and was hurt by the struggles she had experienced. I have no doubt that she will be well loved the rest of her life.
And being blind and old, it might be good for her to go somewhere she remembers, probably fondly ❤
They nevertheless sold her in the past...
@@leolewaney7115 didn't they say she was malnourished when they first bought her from the old owner ...🤔
@whispersinthedark88 well it sounded like the original owner sold her around 5+ years ago and the one who had her in a malnourished state sold her more like one year ago... so she went downhill in someone's care that we didn't meet... so she should be going back to a good home...at least they were screened for it, this time around...
So sad to see older horses being surrendered changing everything they know when their blind. Seniors are the best!

That dear Charlotte speaks volumes of the kind of amazing person you are. Lucky horses!
I love that Dr. Kristin gives them a “pillow” so the are comfortable when the lay down.
I was so happy to hear more of Ginger's story and I'm glad she's going home again to a place she knows to live out her days. I hope they have many more happy years with her.

Poor Magic 😢.. Great work between Dr. Kristin and Pauly.
Wow that is great how many you got adopted. I so like this Vet. She explains everything and doesn’t take any guff from the ornery ones.
Happy you guys finally got your x-ray machine
So please Caesar was adopted...that huge hunk of love, he deserves a good home. Branded 451, he did his time and survived whatever it was to go to a happy loving home. What a guy!❤
When the woman that took Legolas was asked do you love him, and had to wipe a tear, I had to wipe one away, too
Beauty is Such a beauty ❤️❤️
Patrick is gorgeous.. dang, I love them ALL ❤️❤️❤️
Wow 48 horses in 15 days😮. Amazing!!!🎉

Oh Ginger you’re going home that lady seems so happy to have you back into her life. Yay ginger
It was so exciting to watch all of the adoptions! Josie just touched my heart for some reason….❤
Question: why do we geld horses? Answer: see Merimack doing his Beetlejuice😮 impression for an injection😅😅
I love what you guys do so much. Thank you for making good decisions with these sweet horses.
That is so wonderful news of the adoption!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I Love Beauty !! Such a looker !! Absolutely thrilled for Ginger !!
Thanks for another great episode!
I'm so excited for all these new owners to adopt❤❤❤ such wonderful babies.
So glad your adoption was so successful. You guys do such a wonderful job finding new homes for everyone. Congratulations too on having your own x-ray. Now you will be able to give the horses everything they need to get better.♥️🐴👍😁
LOVE THE WAY U ALL WORK WITH THE HORSES & EACH OTHER.. GOD BLESS U ALL 100 FOLD! 🥰
OMG, this one is a tear-jerker. Every time one got adopted , waterworks, and then... the Ginger story?! Full-blown weeping.
Just now started video and have ti comment 😊 Bing is that kid at holidays when everyone is around, he has to act up.
Nice, pull Bing into a circle to keep him from bucking and he tries to bite,LOL.
Great first impression 😊
You're so very lucky you have a remarkable vet and farrier
I think you have to put the hoof on a piece of wood, so you can get the hoof in the picture❤
I have seen them do that at Horse Plus.
We were not trying to get a picture of the hoof, but stay tuned for hoof images! ;-)
Congrats on the x-ray machine!!! Finally!!
Steve Young is excellent.

That 1st pony who you had to fight just to get the needle in b4 castration, a just gelded horse had a heart to heart w/ him & warned him about that needle! 🐎🙀😹
He's a mini mule.
I’m thrilled for Mandalay! A favorite from the start!
I my heart just gets so excited when a horses gets adopted! Brings tears to my eyes w/ Joy😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for your amazing, kind words
Awesome video, thanks for all your hard work an love for animals love watching everyone with their own talent, god bless all ❤👍💪🇺🇸
You folks are doing God's work. The love you show for the animals is so refreshing. God bless you and God bless these animals that found your support.
I know giving your animals "the last act of kindness" is difficult but not fair to pass it off to others. They gave their owners their all and then discarded when they needed them the most.😢 But it's better than auction.

They always say a horse remembers every face it sees!
I wish CA had an organization like yours. We do have horse rescues but they charge 3 and 4 times more than your rescue charges. You do fantastic work and I’ve been watching Horse Plus for at least 5 years now.
Beauty is such a beauty. I’ve always been attracted to her. Maybe it’s her flashy color.
So happy to see so many horses adopted. Hope they are loving their new homes. Now go get more!
Since donkeys often live so much longer than horses do their teeth wear differently? Also, is telling their age from the teeth different for donkeys?
That'd great that many horses were adopted
Oh lucky sweet Ginger. She’s going home.
It's beautiful what you do. Blessings
I so happy for you all the horses who got adopted in this episode. Zelda has such a cute face. I’m glad she found her forever home too. Thanks x
I just watched a video by Caleb over at 3 crosses farrier and thought of you guys. He was doing a massive abscess (title of the video) and he was working with a vet. I am so glad you got to catch Jack.I saw milkweed in the pasture. It is deadly within hours of consumption by a horse.
I live in Idaho. We ALWAYS get snow before Halloween. And almost always have snow in May. 😂
For a machine that expensive, maybe a little better set up to get it going!
OMG the ginger story is so sweet I just love that story and look at those people get her back to live out the rest of her years with them O how wonderful. Ooo how I love nugget,
So very happy that alot of your horses & a Donkey got adopted!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤congratulations!❤❤❤❤

We do!
Beauty is a beauty

The horse that bucks looks like he's in pain either his legs, bridle or saddle..That's my first quess.. He looks uncomfortable walking, taking short steps?
I saw all the adoption posters were under different categories. Like 2 , 2/3 etc. I guess they are codes for how broken the horses are?
They are levels, yes! We level our horses and adopters based on experience/handling to help make good matches for homes!
Why did they let go of Ginger to start?
Life has unexpected changes all of the time
Hi PT Team!! 💗🏆
Hi!

We run thorough background checks on all of our adopters and ask for photos of shelter and fencing. We are able to view properties on certain platforms. We check for any history of abuse, neglect, ect.
All adopted horses are welcome back at our shelter, free of charge. Adopters are also able to exchange for a better fit if the horse they adopted ends up not working out as planned. Bringing the current adopted horse back, and trying a new pal.

How funny would that be!! Yet we would feel so bad!! Haha.
Wow
Wow snow lol am in Florida
So sweet, but often heartbreaking 💔!!!
30 available! There are only 8 on your adopt a horse page. I'd like to see the rest of them.
There's only 8 now because 22 of the 30 were adopted...
What about soft ride boots for the old white horse that is foundered
OMG…. Ball party today. LOL Dr. Kristen is the best I’m not loving that new vet you have that guy, that BIG guy. Merrimack knows what you’re up to look at that little fart spinning around in that stall. Night night, Merrimack.
Waiting patiently 😊
I meant Pony Tails!!!❤️. I love Horse Plus just as much😅
How much do these horses sell for…I have no idea about horses lol
I donated towards the x-ray machine and was wondering about this as I’d not heard anything. Good news though.
You have to conect the computer to the internet before you run the program
Hellooo, anyone on yet?? Jennifer in AZ
Looks like you folks still have corn standing
What do the levels mean? And how do u vet people before adoption?
The muddy paddocks? Like insanely muddy? (Not hate just curious why??)
It gets muddy here. There is nothing we can do other than keep them empty as much as possible to dry.
When it rains, freezes, thaws, and repeat not much you can do. We get the same weather here in West Pennsylvania.
How are you going to rase any mules it you castrated all the jackes?
Why would we want to raise any mules??
@PonyTalesRefuge mules are both unique and cool . Horses are common. Everyone has horses.
Oh my heart.
