and btw, the thing that I love about this show is that they don't label the characters sexualities specifically. literally, labels don't matter in this context :) so you can just see most of the characters in the crew as unlabeled/ queer.
I think this is actually the most important part of the show.
Way too many shows try to make a statement about what is right and what is wrong.
It just gets way too political.
I love that these people are just being themselves, and they’re in love, and we see it unfold versus being told it’s happening. This is the magic of the show.
Fun fact, one of the things real life Blackbeard is known for is his theatrics. They say he'd tie fuses into his beard and light them, giving off the impression of being a demon with a smoking head, like how Pete described him in episode 2. So the Art of F*ckry is very based in real pirate history.

The scene where Stede is trying to pull the sword out of Ed's stomach, as Izzy stands behind a pillar going through the 5 stages of grief, is definitely one of my favorites in this show, it's hilarious every time I rewatch it. 😂 Also, the relationship between Pete and Lucius is so fun to watch; two pirates who are expected to be (mostly) rough and chaotic find some peace and softness with eachother. Beautiful! Can't wait to watch more of your reactions!

One thing I love about this series is how as it goes on we get to see Stede become more competent as a pirate. Like, positioning yourself in front of a pillar in a duel so that your opponent stabs through you into the pillar in a non-fatal spot in order to disarm them without killing them is an insanely cool move

And it also breaks my heart to see Ed not even having the heart to look when he believes Stede was fatally wounded, like... Ed's like lulling himself against the ropes, and only reacts when he hears Stede speak to him! Good thing Stede is actually very creative and clever!

Ed threatening to shoot Stede was a empty threat. That is a powder gun, you have to load it with gunpowder first before you can even shoot it.
He was never going to shoot Stede, but Stede knows nothing about guns and thought it was real.
I don't know if you noticed while editing, but during the wooden thumb scene, you made the EXACT SAME reaction faces Lucius did about a half second before. It was really charming to watch :)

Great reaction! Fun fact: pirates from that era in real life often put on plays to amuse themselves between raids, so there is some historical accuracy in the concept, if not the details.

I think the funny foreign guys in this episode were meant to be Dutch, but I could be wrong (the stereotypical accents and costumes each episode kill me lmao)
Izzy was encouraging Stede to put on the "fuckery" because he knew they'd be bad at it and thought it would be an easy way to get Stede killed, which is also why Ed/Blackbeard seemed so upset throughout the episode because, as Izzy said, "he adores you".
I'm happy to see you're enjoying the show! I get the impression it's not the kind of thing you'd normally watch so I'm glad you're just sort of accepting its weirdness and going along for the ride.
And I like what you had to say about the characters showing their vulnerability. It's really refreshing to see characters be so open about their feelings even if it is in a comedic sense. I look forward to seeing your next reaction!

I really enjoy situation comedies, and this one just happens to be so well written that is so easy to stick with.
I suppose with all the other content available, it’s kind of Hard to find the diamonds in the rough.
If you have any suggestions for future content , movies or shows, I’d love to hear them.
I think with the show does amazingly well that other shows suffer from is that it doesn’t shove political rhetoric down your throat.
It’s really just a bunch of people, Doing their thing. No one is astonished by anything, no one is bothered by anything… and why should they be?
This show is just people living their best lives and I love it.
Oh also I forgot to say I really loved the psychology insight for Ed. Would love more of that too :)

Find the whole fuckery hilarious. Swede's singing is awesome! Haha. Can't believe the cat bit was ever meant to be scary, but that's Frenchie for you. This silliness is what makes the show so charming.
Absolutely love that Ed doesn't want to kill Stede at all. If you go back to the episode where he first mentions taking Stede's place, it truly looks like he only comes up with that scheme to prevent Izzy from immediately leaving. Imo he never intended to kill Stede, and yes, he's trying to psych himself up to in this episode, but it's clearly just not going to happen. He cares about Stede too much. That bathtub scene is very tender.

I’m loving these videos, mate! I love this show and all these characters. It’s a great show, and I’m glad it’s getting some love. I’ve had directors in the past who were very much like Stede lol Also, yes, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed Jim posing in the background. That cracked me up, I love them. They’re very committed to the role. The whole crew is brilliant.
Also, the kiss between Lucius and Pete was so soft and gentle. It’s a small thing but a nice one.
(Ps you adding in “hurt boy/girl/person” at the end made me smile - it’s a little thing but cheers for that!)

I found it amusing that you mentioned them getting stuck on islands and not having a problem. The caribbean has several islands and smaller ones that are not really that far off each other and with enough nature to sustain people, even abandoned ones so most pirates probably could hang about an island long enough to build a boat to get to a nearby town. Especially in the area near Barbados.
I suppose it’s more that they always seem to know exactly where they are all the time

I really enjoy how appreciative you are of Stede’s fashion skills. The man has got some straight up 18th century drip!
Also to be fair to you we know Lucius and Black Pete are gay because they’re getting to second base in the pantry. It’s implied that Stede could be gay because he’s into fashio~n, drama, interior design, you know…and also he was very sad being married to a woman.

3) I watched your video about The Princess Bride and realy liked it! There is no anything like it (it´s a diamant) but if you heaven´t seen yet, you could appreciate for example Dragonheart (only first one), Labyrinth, or Stardust! There are also another cult classics (cults that I´m in) like Rocky horror picture show (best Tim Curry role ever), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Monty Python movies, and the Room (worst film ever made. A film, that became widely loved and enjoyed! More you know about the film, better it gets + "The disaster artists" is a movie about it´s creators and is hilarious!
4) I can also recommend Edgar Wright´s movies (especially the Cornetto trilogy) he is a comedy/soundtrack/movie editing/ genius.
5) And here are some good series: Good Omens - adaptation of a very funny book from Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (similar feeling to Our flag means death), What we do in the shadows (Taika) , Helluva boss (animated series for adults on youtube),
Aaaaaaand I´m out of ideas - it is really late at night in my country right now and my head is almost empty. Anyway, I hope that some of it will be helpfull :) atleast a little bit :)

Anyway, those things I suggested aren´t necessarily most popular, just those I myself like and thought you could probably appreciate. But from what I´ve seen, the most watched reaction videos are the ones with mainstream content. like if you are that lucky and have some widely popular franchises yet to see (such as harry potter, star wars, lord of the rings, shrek, avengers etc... ) that could potentially have a big viewership. People usually looking for reactions on things they themselfs wish to see for the first time again :D (But like... for me it´s hundred procent Our flag means death xD I re-watched it four times already xD )

I didn't know this but I looked on Wikipedia and typed in Stede Bonnets name and I was surprised to find that there was an actual pirate called Stede Bonnet the Gentleman Pirate he did actually exist.

As another dutch person, they're meant to be very wrong and stereotypical. The show makes fun of the countries that were colonizing at the time and generally being terrible people. It's meant to be a bit hurtful for those countries cuz we kinda sucked at that place in time.
