dude why ai? a screenshot with some text works better and wont get you shit on. it feels weird considering i could jump in with a friend, get a two handed item, get them to run across a bridge, and bam, instant thumbnail.
I didn't care about the thumbnail but writing a passive aggressive reply to your fans kinda sucks Edit 6hrs later: I see the thumbnail did change today so maybe I misunderstood. Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt

5:28 this is a common technique in game design, it's called "coyote time". its generous to inexperienced players, while also rewarding experienced ones.
Jumping is sometimes delayed by about a second, I’ve had times where I press space while having contact with the ground, but the jump force only activates after I start falling.
The jumping thing isn't weird, it's a deliberate mechanic that is used in almost all games. This mechanic is called the Coyote Timer, it works like this: as soon as you leave a fixed platform by running down, a set timer starts during which you can still jump even though you're not on solid ground. As soon as the timer runs out, you can no longer jump. Without this mechanic, all jumps in all games would feel unfair, even if they were technically more realistic.
thank you for this. I've had a number of people not get why the bridge break when it should. or didn't get why I wouldn't go at the same time with them before XD
@@literatemaxwdym it wasn’t comprehensive? I understood everything in the video. He just tells you how bridges work and how much weight you can go across with, and lots of strategies and alternate routes to take. The main takeaways for adamance would be don’t go across the bridge with more than 35 pounds, and jump early with up to 35 pounds. Wait 5 seconds for the bridge to heal up and go again. The other bridge just know you can only jump on it 3 times till it collapses and then he explains the jumping mechanics. Jumps just have a delay before they activate and if you pressed spacebar before you start falling you’ll jump in mid-air
Part 5? Damn, I got a whole series to binge now. Opening was fire btw, I thought it was going to break into a song about bridges, unironically thought this was going to be a bridge music video. Thanks for the quality content.
This is actually helpful, I was too nervous to actually use the bridges that collapsed since I had no idea how long they'd survive or anything. Being a new player and all 😭
I love the little mini-lecture on jumps in this video, I never knew that jumps work the way they do. Though I gotta ask, what's with the thumbnail? Your thumbnails for enemy analysis are SUPER high quality and I kinda miss it.
It's not too uncommon for games with fps platforming to have a little "grace period" where it'll still accept jump inputs. I remember DOOM Eternal had a moon jump glitch where you could bind Jump to the scrollwheel and stack like 60 jumps on top of each other.
@@tornadoawe That's hysterical, I've known about the generous jump system but never knew about that Doom Eternal glitch or its implementation. In Lethal Company I'd always overcompensate for the wind-up animation, assuming it'd be cut off early if I fell off too early.
Well that explains why a bridge collapsed on my way inside on my solo run. I thought it was total weight or number of players before, not a durability meter.
Also of note regarding the Adamance fire bridge - the destructible part has a gap just wide enough to fall through between it and the top of the hill I should know, _I have died because of this stupid gap_
Okay rate my new thumbnail

Fall Guys has this and was super clutch at winning finales.
i love the name lmao, it's based on how in stuff like looney toons the coyote would be suspended in the air before falling
I think you play lethal company
Nah he dont play lethal company
You might be right
Congrats!! You are correct
@@rydersj yeah idk what the name of the game then

I had NO idea that the bridges regenerated health. Thanks for the video
Same I just always avoided it after using it once or twice.

Never thought i could be so entertained by a video about bridges
Not a big fan of the new intro, lol. I like your soft bespoken how-to video-esque personality. It leans better into your character
Yeah. New one is too flashy.
agreed, hes trying too hard lol
its not really a new intro, its just the intro specifically for his masterclass series.
It's not new. OGs know this
Yeah I fully agree. I like the background music, but the attempt at high energy in the intro is just, not it.

I did not know this game had coyote time! That's a great info to know!
Is the thumbnail made by AI i cant even see it anymore
He uses AI for about everything besides his voice and gameplay.

Now I want Masterclass: Jumping
never thought i would be interested on a video about video game bridges
I havent heard an intro like that in like a decade. What a throwback
Never really made it to a video 43 seconds on release, pretty cool (also I've been longing to know how bridges work so thanks for that)
Welcome back to another high-quality guide by Alter Ego ❤
Ah yes the most lethal enemy. Bridge
This is amazing, please make more of these kinds of lethal company videos!
Good evening, I love the content as always.
Thanks from Japan.
Those bridges are very sturdy but not very strudy!
Lots of good info in this episode. I always thought the bridge had only-decreasing durability. Knowing that it regens is very helpful
you're the only youtuber i know that can make a 7 minute long video about bridges and have it not be mostly filler
the bridge breaking for the first time was such a fun experience
actual goated videos

*Alright, now that's a video subject.*
I love how the giants pause in the air when the adamance bridge breaks like a looney tunes character
So, if you used an extension ladder, you could hang off the side of the bridge and allow its health to regenerate?
Probably best masterclass so far
that intro was SOOO clean
Thank you so much I needed a break from full clear
love your videos, ude. I recently got into the game (really late to the party) but it’s lots of fun
I had NO IDEA the small bridge could collapse at all!!!
good to know

we in the business call jumping in the air after falling off a platform a Donkey Kong jump.
thanks for this !
never understood the bridges in this game
And so, it all finally changes
I've got a question, when a Forest Giant breaks a bridge, does he take damage from the fall?
This man breaks down the game down to code and science
Btw other games have this mechanic where you jump while falling off. It's called a Coyote Jump. Mostly seen on platformers like the Super Mario series

for a game that can be punishing as lethal company its nice to have some form of generosity in coyote time of all things
