Or you go through a door, you hear your friend gasp and then cut off, so you go back into the room and there's just his flashlight and a trail of blood.
I LOVED a moment where I saw a Bracken about to kill me, running straight at me from the fog, and I scream "OH NO, THAT'S A-" and my brother (who I was playing with) was right next to me in our real life room, so when he heard me go _dead silent_ he freaked out, went downstairs ingame, and just saw a trail of blood leading into the fog. Absolutely bone chilling
The Bracken is absolutely the most terrifying enemy in the game IMHO. It's even creepier when you hear the *snap* and your buddy's voice getting cut off, and you turn around and you actually see him getting dragged away. A lot of this game is scary in the moment, and then you laugh about it in the chat with your friends (this is not a bad thing at all, let me make this clear). But The Bracken is the exception; they are legitimately terrifying enemies, and they're even scarier when you're not the guy it just killed - because even though you don't know when, its going to come for you next.
The bracken is one of my favorites because of the proximity chat. I’m also a fan of the eyeless dogs for a similar reason. Your team can quickly switch from chatting and joking around to dead quiet after hearing a dog growl nearby.

One of my favorite touches the game has to add to the experience, is that when you get separated and alone... the ambience gets kicked on to make you feel even worse. It's brilliant game design because you don't hear the ambience when you're among teammates because usually they're the ones filling the silence. When you're alone, the game has been perfected to really point that out to you.

one of my favorite mods is the doppleganger mod. it allows monsters to sometimes mimic the player voices. which is extra hilarious when springhead says "ya im looking at him" in your friends voice so you turn around.

I play Lethal a lot with my Splatoon team and there was one point where one of us got cornered by a Coilhead, and while he was staring it down he said “damn you’re tall,” and then it responded in my voice “so are extension ladders” (which I had said earlier about things on sale)

Had a friend call out on voice, got the response of a (dead) friend saying "it ain't me" (it was a snare flea). The flea then drops down on our buddy's face, begins suffocating, and as the critical damage is inflicted the snare flea said "GOT 'IM." Managed to get it on recording and everyone was in stitches.
It's truly amazing how well Badger's and Lythero's friend groups seem to mesh with each other and it all started with Gary and Heavenly and the MvC 3 video.

A Monster Fun Fact: The Giant Worm will attempt to take a "Lead" on a player in order to emerge where the Worm "Expects" you to be. So when you see the rumbling and ground shaking, the Worm will actually emerge ahead of you, anticipating you to keep moving in that direction. so pulling a 180 and running as fast as you can the other way, will save your life, as once the worm starts to lead you, it commits to that attack. Also the Worm can devour any monster that it catches, including eyeless Dogs, and even the Forest keeper, and funnily enough if you happen to be caught by a Forest keeper, and a worm emerges underneath the Keeper, it will eat the keeper and forces the keeper to drop you, but you will NOT be Eaten along with the keeper. So if your Lucky, the Giant Graboid could save you from a keeper.
I have tested this, no it does not lead you, it'll just yeet itself from the ground underneath you and it's large enough to swallow you under all conditions except "going fast as fuck" (not carrying shit)

As a game dev, I really appreciate your insight. Unlike a lot of other youtubers who just play the game, give a brief compliment to the thing they liked about a game, then bitch about what they didnt like for a while, you actually take the time to explain what you liked, what you didnt like, provide reasoning for your feelings, and give reasonable feedback, criticism, and suggestions. When i was making a game jam shooter, I would go watch some fo your siege or halo vids. Right now im actually making a lethal-like dungeon diver and this video has actually made me rethink a few of my ideas, for example, I was going to make a combat system so players could fight the monsters, but your insight on why having unique non-combat weaknesses enhances the game, as well as talking about the shotgun and signs and how the interactions with them can change the entire feel of the game has made me want to tone back the combat and focus more on the utility aspect of encountering a creature. TL;DR Thanks for your videos. Despite, or maybe because of, their humor they are actually incredibly good commentaries about what makes games great.

Had a friend call out on voice, got the response of a (dead) friend saying "it ain't me" (it was a snare flea). The flea then drops down on our buddy's face, begins suffocating, and as the critical damage is inflicted the snare flea said "GOT 'IM." Managed to get it on recording and everyone was in stitches.
It's truly amazing how well Badger's and Lythero's friend groups seem to mesh with each other and it all started with Gary and Heavenly and the MvC 3 video.

The Giant Worm will attempt to take a "Lead" on a player in order to emerge where the Worm "Expects" you to be. So when you see the rumbling and ground shaking, the Worm will actually emerge ahead of you, anticipating you to keep moving in that direction. so pulling a 180 and running as fast as you can the other way, will save your life, as once the worm starts to lead you, it commits to that attack.
Also the Worm can devour any monster that it catches, including eyeless Dogs, and even the Forest keeper, and funnily enough if you happen to be caught by a Forest keeper, and a worm emerges underneath the Keeper, it will eat the keeper and forces the keeper to drop you, but you will NOT be Eaten along with the keeper. So if your Lucky, the Giant Graboid could save you from a keeper.
I have tested this, no it does not lead you, it'll just yeet itself from the ground underneath you and it's large enough to swallow you under all conditions except "going fast as fuck" (not carrying shit)

As a game dev, I really appreciate your insight. Unlike a lot of other youtubers who just play the game, give a brief compliment to the thing they liked about a game, then bitch about what they didnt like for a while, you actually take the time to explain what you liked, what you didnt like, provide reasoning for your feelings, and give reasonable feedback, criticism, and suggestions.
When i was making a game jam shooter, I would go watch some fo your siege or halo vids. Right now im actually making a lethal-like dungeon diver and this video has actually made me rethink a few of my ideas, for example, I was going to make a combat system so players could fight the monsters, but your insight on why having unique non-combat weaknesses enhances the game, as well as talking about the shotgun and signs and how the interactions with them can change the entire feel of the game has made me want to tone back the combat and focus more on the utility aspect of encountering a creature.
TL;DR Thanks for your videos. Despite, or maybe because of, their humor they are actually incredibly good commentaries about what makes games great.
