Learn Irish Like A Baby Girl
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- In this video we're going to look at how to learn Irish as an adult but through the eyes of a baby girl - you will learn the language just like a baby picks up words and phrases as we talk about her doll and various clothing items. This is the best and most sustainable way to learn Irish.

Dia duit agus fáilte, éist liom le do thoill, ceart go leor? - Hello and welcome, listen up please - ok?
Céard é sin - what is that
Béirín nach bhfuil sí? A teddy bear is it not?
Mícheart, ná bí amaideach - don’t be silly
Bábóg ar ndóigh - a doll of course
Agus tá sí gleoite ar fad - and she’s so cute
Anois tá sí ina codladh - tuirseach - now she’s asleep - tired
Féach, tá sí ag brionglóideach - look she’s dreaming
Oíche mhaith a thaisce agus codladh sámh - good night my darling and sleep tight
Gúna - dress, Bríste - pants, Geansaí - jumper
Is maith liom - I like, Is breá liom - I love, Is aoibhinn liom - I adore
Go hálainn - lovely, ag breathnú - looking

This is just great! I like your approach in teaching Irish especially with the lack of resources. May I ask if you'd be able to teach Irish in Irish? (Without speaking english) it would give us an ear to Irish being spoken nearly naturally. Or maybe some kind of story telling 😊😊 Nonetheless loving your videos, thank you so much for the effort
loving the new style
Growing up in England but with Irish grandparents I only know irish having heard it at home growing up as a young girl, I can speak a tiny bit of irish but not write or read in irish at all
A question what's the difference between le do thoil for 'please', and marsha de helle (sp??) That's what my grandparents always used
My nan would always say oscaill an fuineog marsha de helle, ta me an sucre agam marsha de helle etc
Regarding Más é do thoil é, It's like if you please whereas le do thoil is Just Please. Not really any difference.
Well I finally know how to spell it!
One step at a time 😊
@@tonimcnamee808My mother was Irish but never spoke it and as a child when I asked her to tell me how to count to ten in Irish she did but seemed as if she thought Irish a wastexif time. But I thinknthatvattitude was caused by hundreds of years of destruction ie looting & genocide by the British establishment ie royals, government etc. Such a shame. I still remember what she told me and one itmr 2 other words. I woukd love to learn it and there are lessons online, on CD of course but no classes I have cone across in South West England where I live. Probably some in London Irish Centre. Did the other words say open the window please'? ( thought I recognised 'Fineog' or however its spelled!(
Love it totally being in Irish!
Yes
A great way to learn. Thank you! 👏

An bhfuil me ag breathnú go hálainn? Go raibh míle maith agat ☺️

Great. Thanks.
Stay safe
is aoibhinn liom an físeán seo! go raibh maith agat
Míle fáilte 🎊
can you do a video on how to pronounce ráibéad
No probably not. Check out www.focloir.ie
Wow what a great channel and i have only just discovered it.
Irish was always a terrible subject to learn because the teachers were so strict cruel and often hit us putting the fear of God in us. I turned my back on the language for a long time because of such a dreadful experience by the people entrusted to teach us not physically mentally and emotionally abuse us. I am trying to go back and rewrite the past by trying to learn again in a more positive environment. Thank you for the time and effort you have put in to upload this video..i look forward to exploring your channel 🎉
I'm also trying to learn, my goals to be able to Go back to school and Shock my irish teachers!
I wonder did the teachers behave like this only in Irish class? It's funny because people often say this but strangely don't have the same hang ups over English, Maths, Science or even Religion. I often wondered why Irish brought out the worst in them but then they apparently turned into Angel Gabriel for all the other subjects. A fascinating phycology.
Do it for you not the teachers
An bhfuil tú go maith? Mar tá tú ag breathnú go maith 😉
😅😅
If I can: I love the idea you are going for, however, the images make it more difficult to understand. If it were a person interacting with the doll as if the camera with the child it would make more sense to follow body and facial cues like a real child learning. I have to translate what you mean by the images in to English mentally before I can follow what you intended.
That's what you seem to be failing to understand, learning Irish by translation is not going to work, you need to think through Irish. Unless you adjust your outdated way of learning you'll be limit.
@@LearnIrish I appreciate that, you're absolutely right.
Best of luck, I do understand what you were saying originally.
Next do the Irish alphabet and pronunciation
Thanks for the tip

Frás an deas is é Oiche Mhaith "a thaisce" - nior chula mé é sin riamh!
