    American here, trying to learn Gaelic for the last few years and I've failed. But your channel is now my go to! I've learned a lot in just one night. If I had someone to speak it with I'd probably be doing way better. But thank you! 😁 I really appreciate your content.

    I've been trying to learn Irish on Duolingo. I just completed a few lessons in the food section and this lesson showed up on my UA-cam recommendations. Hearing the pronunciation of the different foods in Irish was really helpful. Thank you!

    The meal with tuna and pasta and some corn is kinda like what we'd call Tuna Casserole here in the states. Just figured that'd be a nice tid-bit of information to know. And it is delicious.
    On another note, I think it's awesome what you're doing with your videos. Keep it up :)

    Tuna and sweetcorn is also great with potato chips. Although the tuna and sweetcorn I had came from a can and had peppers and some spices in it, so that might have been why it worked so well.

    Do you write Gaelic in the Latin Alphabet or would you use a Celtic alphabet?

    • @k9wolf07
      @k9wolf07 2 роки тому

      Old comment but the Irish didn't really have a written language until monks brought over the Latin and Greek alphabet. They did have a type of runic alphabet called Ogham but it may have only been used to write epitaphs on stone burials.

    Great stuff, although some of your pronunciation is a little off.
    For example, ith is pronounced with a flat I.
    You're saying it more like 'ee'. When we have an I it's pronounced flat, when we have an í, it's pronounced 'ee'.
    Besides that, rinne tú ar fheabhas mo chara 🙂

    Itheann/ Ólann mé??? Ive never ever heard that and i dont think its entirely correct???

    •  4 роки тому +2

      It is, my teacher at school (a fluent Irish speaker from the Gaeltacht) said that if you find it easier to remember the one ending for the present tense (-eann/-ann) , you can do so and just apply the appropriate pronoun. So itheann mé instead of ithim. Tá sé ceart

    • @cm8692
      @cm8692 4 роки тому +1

      @ ahhh that makes more sense now that shes from the Gaeltacht

  • @jimobrien84
    @jimobrien84 2 роки тому

    I prefer conjugating to the person rather than using personal pronouns. It just seems like extraneous words. Why say itheann mé when you could just say ithim, it flows so much better
