I have had my Mavic 2 Pro for about a week now and while it isn't my first drone, the number of features it has take a little getting used to. Nice, informative video. Cheers.
Yes the Mavic 2 Pro has a few more features that take some time to getting used to! But rest assured practice makes perfect! And thank you for your feedback!
The course lock hyperlapse is actually more potent than you showed here. After locking the course, you can select a point of interest off to either side and then press Go. The drone will fly the course selected initially but keep the POI in frame. It's essentially like sitting in an airplane flying straight while you keep a camera pointing at something as you move along.
Very useful, very informative, quick and to-the-point video. Many thanks for this very good upload! It really helped me a lot to understand the various "intelligent flight modes".
Hi! DJI guarantees at least 20-25 minutes of flight time. If you’re just hovering, and not moving much and it’s not too hot or cold outside, even up to 30 minutes!
aloha Edward like your tutorial, I'm thinking of getting into flying one of mavic to take with me through my travels. one question I have is, do I have to calibrate the drone when I fly in another country?
Yes! I recommend to calibrate your drone for any take off, regardless of where in the world you are. The older DJI models used to have an NTSC/PAL switch that you would have to change depending on what country you were in. But now with the newer models we no longer need that switch. So to answer your question, just make sure your drone is calibrated before every flight mission! It should be part of your site survey before take off. Just make sure your app says "Ready to Go" with the green background before every flight. Thanks for your question!
Hey Edward, I like your drone presentations. Is there a way to customize the Helix quick shot so that the drone will do multiple outward spirals, instead of just 1?
Thank you François! I do not believe you can do that, but I could be wrong!! Try it out on the app next time you are flying, and let us all know if it worked or not!
Good vid Edward, Quick question though, can you slow the quickshots down? like the speed of the dronie and the helix etc so they have longer footage rather than the like 10 seconds
This is a great question and I haven’t tried it myself. However, I’m afraid that the Mavic by default, synthesizes quick shot videos into 1920 by 1080 @ 25fps. Nonetheless, one good way to test it out would be by setting your video settings to slow motion before entering the intelligent flight mode button. I would try by tapping on my camera settings underneath the shutter button, go into the camera icon, selection your resolution to 1920 by 1080 and shoot in 60fps or 120fps if available. Then, try entering the intelligent flight modes button and see if the synthesized videos come in in a frame rate higher than 25fps. In case you aren’t aware already, you need at least 60fps to slow down your footage considerably without making the footage look choppy. Let me know how if that works!
Hi Edward me again :-). I am loving the video. keep up this brilliant work. can you please recommend some nd filters to me please, i have none and own the 2 pro and have some work coming my way (first job!!) thanks man.
Thanks for the feedback Shane! If you check the links in the description of my videos, you’ll see “Mavic 2 Pro ND Filters” click on that link and you’ll be re-directed to them!
I plan on doing some off road ATV in the desert this week. I want my mavic pro 2 to follow the ATV while we drive around. What Intelligent flight mode do you recommend for that and is it possible or will it only follow bodies?
Great question Brad! Experiment between Trace and Profile. They’re under Active Track. The tracking system is allegedly able to track most things you draw a box around. Whether that be a car or a person, as long as you’re able to draw a green box around the desired subject and the box stays green and fixed onto the subject, that means it’s going to work. But i can’t stress this enough. Make sure your IMU and Vision sensors are up to date, and make sure when you are using these intelligent flight modes, that there are no bystanders within a 30km radius of your drone and watch out for obstacles like trees! Trees are one of the most difficult objects for the vision sensors to avoid.
thanks a lot for the video !! i have a question regarding the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, are all DJI Mavic 2 Pro have the same features or it could happen that DJI Mavic 2 Pro has more features or less features than another DJI Mavic 2 Pro ? and where is the best place to buy from ? ( i am living in Germany )
Hello Med! Thank you for your question! Currently, there are two types of DJI Mavic 2 Pro’s. There is the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, and the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. All Mavics under the same model have the exact same features. The only difference between the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom is that the Zoom is equipped with a zoom lens that allows you to zoom in while filming. This is a great feature but the Mavic 2 Pro has a Hasselblad camera which is the best camera there is on a Mavic. I would recommend you buy the Mavic 2 Pro, and not the Zoom! I would recommend you buy all your DJI products from the original source, DJI Store. Here's a link to check out the Mavic 2 Pro on their store: click.dji.com/AFmhL3pYP9yh4Y598jdmiw?pm=link
Hey Jerel, what drone are you using? You should be able to access the intelligent flight modes on the left hand side of your screen when you boot up your drone, on the little remote icon!
Hello, Edward and thank you for share your video with us. Did you use any ND filters in this video? I have a Mavic 2 Zoo, and I guess the settings are almost the same. By the way, I like your T-shirt.
Hello Edgard, thank you for your comment! No, I don’t believe I used an ND filter for this intelligent flight modes tutorial. And yes Mavic 2 pro and Mavic 2 zoom are the same. The only thing that’s different is the camera. I’m glad you like the shirt! If I were selling shirts like this would you buy it??
Question: If i put The Mavic 2 pro On cinematic mode or any other Intelligent Mode , and i want it to stop it in the middle of the action , what best way to do that ?
Hi Alon! Thank you for your question. I make sure to always have a finger ready to tap the red button with the "x" in the middle of the screen on the far left. That button always appears every time your DJI Mavic 2 Pro is performing any automated movements/tasks. Some modes allow you to cancel the operation by touching the sticks, like hyperlapse mode. But to be safe and stop the aircraft immediately, always look out for that red button at the left of your screen! I hope this answer helped :)
@@edwardfigura If I may I want to ask few more Question in that subject : when you press the X it will stand still? And To start with the automated mode Do I have to exit the beginner mode? If that so what's happening when There's an obstacle?
Ask as many questions as you’d like! That’s what I am here for. When you press the x it will ask you if you want to confirm or if you want to cancel. Press on confirm to actually stop the aircraft. To do any automated modes, make sure you toggle the switch on the right side of your remote controller into “P” aka positioning mode. If you are in “S” (sport) or “T” (tripod) it will not let you do a automated mission. In terms of obstacle avoidance, your Mavic will always avoid obstacles as long as you are NOT in sport mode. Also keep in mind that obstacle avoidance automatically turns off when your magic is flying against strong wind. The Mavic prioritized your drone to come back to you above avoiding obstacles.
I couldn't get very far with this tutorial due to the distracting beat-noise background. Pity. Have you given any thought to what actual function is served by it?
I do agree that the music is a little bit too loud in this video. I have gotten this feedback before by other people and unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about it without removing the video completely and re-uploading it which I’m not going to do.
You make a good video but I would quiet the background music down or get rid of it altogether. It's distracting and you don't need it. The information you provide is the real value in these videos.
Edward your videos are awesome, just one thing, you are going too fast! For beginners you don't show where you click to get the next setting, slow down a little bit please lol
