This is probably the best made drone tutorial I've watched. Thanks Jake, this was spot on. Looking forward to seeing a drone movement tutorial
Yes this is really good Ian. I learned a lot Jake 💪 thanks

Rule #1: Actually GO to somewhere worth filming with a Drone.
Rule #2. See Rule #1.
That's so true! Or just find things to fly through.
Rule number 3 follow the airspace rules in your country and don't do anything stupid
and buy a mavic 2 pro 😂
@@bricktown3156 the best ever!
That's the hardest part
The bottom line to improving your drone footage is to go to beautiful locations like those in your video, but your tips are still very useful. Thanks.
Guess the editing is another important factor ;-)
I agree. The location you choose also helps improve your drone footage
1 - 2:15 Shoot in D-LOG if possible
2 - 2:44 Use F4 if using Mavic 2 Pro with Polar PRO ND Filter -> Aperture: F4, 30FPs, 1/60th shutter speed.
3 - 3:06 Use ND Filters. Use shutter speed to be double of frame rate. Example 24fps should have 1/50th shutter speed.
4 - 4:17 Use 30 fps for smooth movements.
5 - 5:20 Achieve smooth movements. Avoid jerks.
Shoot in golden hour and everything looks epic.
True
@@brettgaramella oooh i would love to see some example videos and images. do u have a webside?
What color temperature do you set your drone at during golden hour?
@@ramymelhem usually just sunny, so 5200k... but you experiment, try cloudy, so 5500k or maybe 4500k...
@@froznfire9531 set it at 5200K even though the sunset creates 2200K light? That part messes me up. The refraction off the clouds will create more of the cooler purples so maybe it averages the temp up a bit?. I have indeed experimented with different temperatures and they all look good in different ways. But i always have to mask above and below the horizon to alter the temperatures of the ground because it ends up looking way too blue when I set my temperature in camera to the sky. I guess I'm asking what the general rule is haha
I've watched tons of other tips and tutorials on drone footage the past year after I bought me a Mavic 2 Pro. But this is by far the best all arounder out there.
Every info I've got from those videos came in place after watching yours. Thank you so much. Subscribed. :)
4.35 - the best footage in video!
For anyone not yet enrolled in the course, I highly recommend it. I joined about a month ago and it's worth it in every sense. Great content, extremely responsive and they add new content all the time.
Excellent video! One of the best drone videos I have seen!! Thank you!
Epic drone shots ! In my opinion smartphone shots + orange and teal LUT on top almost has the same cinematic effect.
Good to See jake back
This tutorial was spot on! Thanks Jake! Great content!
Fantastic tips from FTFM, as usual. Crisp, beautiful, concise and really well-presented.
Been looking for ways to improve my drone game slightly and these are a great start! Thanks!
Great practical list that absolutely saved me some time and energy! Thanks for the concise tutorial, Jake!
This is one of the best simple drone tutorial I’ve watched
the only channel that doesn't recommend Mavic air 2 over the Mavic pro 2. Man I love the honestly on this channel, pls keep it this way !
Hands down, one of the best tutorials about drones on UA-cam.
Blessings! Such a GREAT TUTORIAL.
Spent years looking for best tutorial, I found it! Thanks a million guys!
Awesome to hear! and How are you getting on with you drone works now? it would be great to see some works!
Parker nailed it by bringing Jake onto the team. This is by far the best video tutorial content on UA-cam.
By far the best tips on the “market”!! Thanks a bunch.
That shot at 3:19 was Provo,Utah a nice shot of Timpanogas!!
This tip, Pitch Speed & Smoothness was seriously COOL! 5:51
Reasonable, factual and thoughtful comments - I do not miss waving during the call
Great tips brother! I am about to head out to the Rocky Mountains to do some drone filming for a new video I am making :)
What are some great spots you go? Just put out a view videos of Cline River, which is a beautiful location.
I appreciate the to-the-point pro tips you offered. Some are out there for a joy ride which I do sometimes too. But this helps me know what potential clients might expect and hone those pro skills.
Despite knowing composition and the general tips for recording any type of video, this is super useful for someone who's just picked up their first drone. Thanks a lot!
Best video of drone I’ve ever seen! Thank you so much for sharing all these tips!
I have a Mavic 2 Pro. This is the most helpful video on UA-cam. Thank you.
Fantastic tips which I agree with, although in tests, I've found D-Cinelike to be as good as D-log for grading, but it gives a slightly less flat image to look at whilst shooting, which helps with judging exposure correctly. Thanks for the great video!
I also subscribed. Many thanks!
Coming from a PAL background (UK and then Australia) that tip about shooting 30fps blew my tiny mind. Thank you for that.
Far most informative drone tutorial i came across. Thanks and keep it up Jake
Fantastic video, thanks for putting these all together.
Love these tips. I try to think about these things in all my flights.
I love your sense of humour! I don't know much about drones but am a writer and I am writing an article on drones. You explained the technical stuff so well that even I could understand most of what you were talking about! You made me laugh when you said "...raise the shutter speed that will also make your footage look like garbage." Nice, informative video. Thanks!
very clear and straight to the point bless you!
Sir...u r phenomenal...Earth is not so boring because of u all.... Long live Full Time Filmmaker!!
I love the train sequence!
Excellent stuff from the masters of videography!
Thanks for this summary. Simple and good. This will boost many peoples drone video work!
This is brilliant. Thanks so much.
Awesome tips as always!!! Great job!!! Thank You!!!
My wife's just given me a 2 Pro for Christmas. Thanks for a really great intro to it.
I love every video you guys put out. Thank you so much.
Wow! Seriously some amazing footage!
Great tutorial.. love from Ghana 🇬🇭💪
Great video, I needed that advise and tips! Thanks guys
Excellent tutorial! Checking the wind speed and direction On apps like UAV forecast or Tomorrow Weather (previously Climacell) can also help a lot while flying a drone, especially for beginners.
This is by far the best channel on UA-cam. I've been subscribed for a while, and you guys keep coming out with useful information. Most channels just start talking about themselves because they don't have anything useful to say anymore. Keep up the great work!
Do you know if the original Phantom 4 also has 10 bit color in D-Log? Thanx!
P.S. I love the new additions. Landon, Jake, keep it up.
@@fulltimefilmmaker Thanx!
I believe the #1 unspoken tip is have an amazing scene to shoot.
My backyard looks nice but a waterfall is going to look like a more professionally shot every time.
Great work Jake!
some of the best advice ever! thank you !!!
Thanks for the tips! Recently got a Air 2S and always looking for some improvement in filming... your Videos do help much!
Excellent! Thank you for sharing!
Great explanation ever! Thanks buddy!
Short and precise! Thank you so much guys! And thanks to ad 👻 this is how I found u! 😆
I think its time to jump into fulltime filmakers course rather than film school
@@fulltimefilmmaker we all know that 😂😂 ..if you don't mine..may i know whom replied to me ...jake or parker or landon..😅
@@fulltimefilmmaker always parker reply
@@fulltimefilmmaker Hi ISO does not cause noise (but f/Stop & Shutter do!)
ua-cam.com/video/2jkf31w7fwU/v-deo.html
@@ke4uyp Please do not believe this. It is so wrong that it's getting funny... The noise in his "tests" does neither come from the shutter or aperture. It's coming from the program which is trying to brighten it all up. High ISO definitely produces noise. In every case. I can't believe that this is his real opinion. It needs to be an april fool...
It's a fantastic course.
This is the earliest I've ever been; 18 mins ago but there are 1.6k views 😃😃😃😃 this just prove what a great channel you guys have. Keep it up👍
This is so freakin helpful... TY
Solid solid tips...Thank you sir !

Like a nipple!
Parker crushin it!

I like you're straight up flicking one of the joy sticks in that shot! Haha! Great video though! Thanks, Jake and other members of the FTF crew
Thank you Peter for the easy to understand video. I just bought the Mavic pro 2 and smart controller; a lot to learn for video. I have a photography back ground.
Great video. Thanks for the awesome tips.

Epic!!! Totally fantastic video
Stunning footage!
Love it! Neat!
Great Tutorial Sensei thanks...
Hey very well explained. Loved it. Thanks
I got some practicing to do!
I was almost about to order Mavic Air 2, not anymore after seeing this, thanks Jake and Parker.
Srujan Babu yeah they made a good argument for the magic pro 😀
You might want to try a Mavic Air 2 first. They're pretty rad and there are videos here on UA-cam that do side by side of the footage. There are a few things that the Air 2 is superior at.
Great video. Gonna use this on my next videos 🔥
I will be filming with a Mavic 2 Pro for a music video and this tutorial was Utterly Fantastic. Thank you so much for this great content!
