#Tesla changed the world's perspective on electric cars with the introduction of the #ModelS in 2012. This was the first mass produced #EV that could do over 200 miles on a single charge with acceleration that could shame gasoline powered sports cars. Over the years, Tesla has continued to make improvements to the Model S in range, performance, technology, and quality and although the current model is due for a significant overhaul, it remains the benchmark electric sedan. For 2019, Tesla has discontinued the 75D battery pack in this video and made the 100 kWh batteries as standard. The model names: 75D, 100D, P100D have also been discontinued and have been replaced with just Model S, Model S Extended Range, Model S Performance, and Model S Performance with Ludicrous Upgrade. #TeslaModelS - Авто та транспорт
This is ridiculous. The cheapest model S goes 0-60 in 4.2 second's. These cars are on another level.
I bet you are worth substantially more today than 5ya
My family has owned Mercedes literally since my birth & have never considered staying from that until we stopped at a Tesla store in a mall. The loss of creature comforts doesn't matter when you touch that screen and feel it drive.
I approve all electric cars because they are the future.
no doubt about it :)
Wrong. Electric car manufacturing isn't sustainable with the limited resources on this earth.
they were the future in the 1930's - then what happened!
Marcelo Zanuski google “Tesla myth buster toxic battery” and you’ll discover a Tesla blog post item as one of the first hits where they tell in 2008 (!! The original roadster era, 4 years before the first Model S became available).
In this article they describe how even their FIRST generation battery pack is not toxic at all, almost fully recyclable and the few remaining bit can safely go to a landfill or something. Contrary to what many believe, batteries are not used up. The lithium for example can simply be reused.
Sounds like a much saner option than burning precious oil with 25% efficiency going into movement and 75% into heating up the front end of the car...
Marcelo Zanuski send them to space
I like this interior more than the Model 3's because still has the levers to operate the lights, wipers, cruise control and adjusting the steering wheel. I think 259 miles (414.4 Km) is a good range of charge. In general I like the car
i agree. The Model S interior should be more involved as it is the flag ship. and i love the ergonomics and look of the Model S dash. I pray they dont mess it up and drop it down to model 3 look. the old Model S will be hard to get i believe on that look alone.
I have a 2017 Model S, and I think it's the most perfect car ever made. It's such a joy to drive, and so practical.
Racer P could you maybe give me more information over this car? I was interested in buying one, but I’m on the line you know?
Like how much does this raise your electricity bill by?? And how long does the battery last on daily city drives?
If it’s not a too much of a burden could you answer?
Well, I have two Teslas, a Model S and a Model X. Together the electrical bill is raised by about $140 / month, or $70 per car. Both cars are 75Ds. I charge about every 2 to 3 days. City driving uses less energy than highway, which is exactly the opposite as a gasoline car. The major savings will come from much reduced maintenance. Brakes will easily last 100K miles due to regen. The car does not need oil change, tune-up, or smog check.
Racer P thank you so so soooo much for responding! This really helped!
@@taipeiracer You don't really buy 80k cars to save money though, do you? :p
@@TheSteinbitt Unless you count time as money. I never need to go to the gas station, go get oil changes, tune-ups or smog check.
Prefer this interior than in the Model 3.....and yes it has aged well...
Same, I sat in both this and the 3, and for my taste the S just felt more comfortable and natural.
I have the Model S....could not fathom driving a 3 with that ipad stuck on the dashboard
Still one of the better looking big sedans in my opinion. In fact, I think the deletion of the traditional grill actually really helps in the looks. Now if they can just catch up with the demand and bring down the price... You know, like Elon has been promising since 1893...
JAX he did kept his promise, just never deliver hahaha
@@Kanti12311
Well, in most instances he came through with what he promised...Just not within the time line that he promised.
I agree. I still think the Model S is one of the better-looking sedans on the market to this day. And I also agree that it looks better with the revised front end (although it took some time for me to appreciate the new look).
Kanti123 Haha! Truth!
Tyran Mathurin It really is. If Tesla can continue to evolve their design language, they'll still have an advantage over the coming German EV onslaught. Only the Porsche Taycan looks decent in my opinion. Don't love the Audis yet.
Funny enough, the fact that there is a real rear middle seat WITHOUT an arm rest is one of the main reason for me to take the S as I have 3 kids and they always complained about the middle place of my Audi or others with arm rest. I really hope they keep that!
"I still consider it a one-trick pony." *lists like 15 things it does great*
lol
yep....worst review comment ever on a top car.
2:57 $4500 wheel option... gtf outta here lol
At least it ain't a $2500 paint option (which mind you, is just a regular colour/paint, not some boutique paint option...)
Timothy L well thats even worse lol
aftermarket wheels are cheaper and better imo
Mike Yeah they are always cheaper, you just have to be mindful of tire pressure sensors
Tesla... Apple's car manufacturer cousin...
Very useful to hear of the changes. One of the best reviews on you-tube. many thanks
I have a 2018 S and it is best car I ever bought. I like that there is no car maintenance and every software update the car gets better.
Model S is the OG. I love my 3 and will keep loving it. Hopefully I keep making videos about it as well. They take so long to make tho haha. Great video as always!
that rear facing third row seats always intrigued me...
RichRebuilds has a video about it... "If you want to murder your kids, put'em there". Apparently on a hot summer day that compartment gets extremely hot no matter what you do with the climate control.
@@passing_bye5991 The option is actually still available and so is the sunroof. You just have to order in person. It's only "not available" for ordering online.
The sunroof and rear facing seats are actually still available as "off menu" items. They are only gone from the online configuration tool.
My favorite car ever
Can’t wait for the refresh tho
Such a cool car. Was mind blowing the first time I ever got to drive one! (a 90D)
We have a 2016 Model S and an early 2018 Model 3. The refresh for the S happened in June 2016. The interior has changed a huge amount compared to the early cars (2012-mid-2016). Much better seats, center console, much better interior materials, better build quality.
Overall I like our S better than our 3. The 3 is more advanced and a driver’s car where the S feels a lot more like a luxury car. The S is much quieter, smoother, the larger screen and instrument cluster make it easier to use. Especially on trips, you can have the Nav and energy or other data up at the same time. The S we have cost only about $10k more than our 3. Since we got it in late 2016, they really increased the price and added a lot more performance and standard features.
We came from 5 previous Mercedes, Audi and BMW. The last Mercedes was a ML63 AMG. I don’t miss it and will never go back to gas.
Now with the 3 taking up the lower end of pricing, I hope Tesla makes the S more focused on luxury to match Mercedes E/S class, high end BMW or Porsche.
Agreed. We’ll never go back to a gas car. Teslas are truly amazing. I have to say though I like the 3 better than the S. It just feels more modern. The S is beginning to feel a little dated. But I have no doubt that the refresh of the S will be amazing.
those points are the Beautiful things about Tesla i admire.
eh you know that you can change the weight of the steering?
Good review! Goes beautiful with the morning coffee. Thank you, subscribed.
I like that interior so much better than the model 3.
JimboJason there both really good 😀
Some ppl prefer either. Some say the 3 is more minimalist and they prefer that
Same here
Nah man I prefer model 3
Great review, very thorough and objective, I like it. Thank you!
Nice Review ! My Favourite EV of all time to date ! Cheers from Waterloo Ontario Canada !
Now I really love this Tesla I should've buy.
Mid 2021 and model S finally updated!! LOL... renting this model this weekend to try it out. Thanks of the detailed review!
Rented one on Turo App in Phoenix Az. Model S P100D. Fell in love with it! I would definately own one.
In the model 3 there are heated seats in the back. That includes the inner seat paired with the outers as well.
I don't dont it ?, KONA EV Premium has Both Cooled and Heated Seats, why not Tesla.
LOVE the summon feature!
If I’m not mistaken you can still get the rear facing seats, it’s just an off menu option that you can choose to add on after placing your order
SO Glad you did a base model!!
Finest hatchback I have personally seen to date. I like all the cool little whoosh sounds his coat makes when he moves around
Great review as always. I see you did your test in our hood. I thought it was from the park but it was obviously Baron Cameron you were driving on.
The instrument cluster and the hatchback with more storage space is what will make me buy a used model s for sure
Great review, thanks!
What's the additional click a half second after you close the door? (Windows maybe?)
How much does Winter driving effect the Tesla 8's performance; ie: Battery life, etc.??
Could anyone help on how much this affects the electricity bill by?
And would you be able to connect a solar panel to the charger?
Yesterday, I just bought a used 2018 P100D in Midnight Silver. It is beautiful beast even in today's Plaid world.
I drove the I-pace and the air suspension on that is very nice and the acceleration is awesome. I would say speed wise it is about the same as the dual motor non performance model 3. The heads up display on that is very handy. The different drive modes change up the feeling quite a bit
Great video man!!! I love the 2018 Telsa Model S!!! I also love the 2019 jaguar I pace!!! I can't wait for the Audi e-ton to come out.
Hi just wondering if you can help me with the following can you use another payment method besides credit card to pay for supercharging through the Tesla account?
Sexy sexy, something you can't say about every electric car
Agreed the steering is numb but the steering does not have to be 'too light', there are three options any one of which can be selected from the touch screen to adjust the weight of the steering.
I actually prefer the “tablet” orientation of the S right now over the Model 3’s horizontal screen
I have a 3 and other than the occasional Netflix viewing, I would prefer the vertical screen. It would be easier from a reach standpoint and the 3 cuts off things like song titles. I think my biggest gripes are the terrible intermittent wipers and there needs to be tint at the top of the windshield. In the winter with the low sun, I am constantly blinded even with the visor down.
For a non-spirited driver, what is the realistic range of the 75D? is 250 miles realistic? We are considering moving from our 2015 85D to a 2018 75D to get more warranty
Elon Musk is my favorite African American.

Sounds like more than one trick. You listed several
Did you set the steering to sport?
Question? Hows does a Tesla with autopilot and cameras and parking curb sensors get Wheel Rash?
Personally think its one of the most beautiful modern sedans, in red and with good rims though ;)
Why is every solid door slam "surprising"
If you're asleep in the passenger seat and the driver slams the door, it could be quite surprising.

10:56 Holy crap, that door gap is insane. I don't even see that on low end Kia cars
I understand you can still get a sunroof even though it’s not listed on the site.
Best looking, best perfomance car in the market
At 10:30, is that a CCS adapter I saw in the cup holder?!
Props to the camera guy. Pro job.
Lol those steering wheel knobs are exactly the same as my Mercedes gls pretty cool that’s a bonus for people coming from Mercedes to tesla
Love it thank you 👍🏻👍🏻❤️⚡️
Do a Model X review!

I'm looking at the model 3 and thinking, I drive a 2011 Avalon and the model S would replace it nicely, but 96 for a car before tax?? The Model 3 the one under performance the one we picked out is 59600, I would love to know what others think, We're not rich, we only paid 110 thousand for the house 20 years ago. Perhaps keep my Avalon, with 58 thousand miles on it as of May 2019
Excellent review. Can't wait to see the all-new Tesla Model S soon. This flagship sedan is by far the best car ever built- -- that happens to be electric.
The sunroof is no longer offered? Why?
How do you get in the car in sub freezing temps? Will the door handles "pop" out in winter freeze and thaw cycles?
Yes they do pop out as low as -40 F. Was on a demo video of the 2012 model S. Not a problem. Even easier if you prewarm you car before going outside.
Cheers!
I like the design of the interior in the s than the 3. I really hope tesla will keep the instrument cluster and more buttons
Thinking about buying a 2018 model s now. Is it still worth it?
The door handles for the model don’t pop out, they’re motorized so the door comes out automatically. For the falcon wing doors, you need to press the button and it’ll come up
Man if I would have saw one of these way back in 2012 I'd think it was from the future! Still in my opinion the best looking sedan out there!
Love you Redline but I hate your choice of music for the intro of the car.
He should’ve played Sicko Mode
@@mrbigbigtoe or sweet victory
Music is fine but it’s loud as hell!
Yeah and it's way too long.
SO MANY VIDEOS HAVE MUSIC DRONING ON...WHILE THEY ARE TALKING. EVERYONE'S A FRUSTRATED DJ.
Love all the Chrysler products in the interior.
2:38 Side angle of the headlight looks eerily similar to the Audi A5
Awesome video
That's my hometown!!! Cheers from Reston lol
Nice!! Best electric out there, in my humble opinion.... :-)
Cold weather can temporarily cut EV range by more than 40 percent
We knew this was an issue, but testing quantifies it - the main culprit: cabin heat
when you look in your future uploads and shit your pants about the 75D
awesome review though!
I go crazy everytime I see one at work, crazy car they made!
5:15 uhhh where is the accelerator pedal? its missing! :o
Is this the park off columbia pike?
Doing this review in my hood! I do like the looks of these. Tesla's gonna have to change some things to be competitive in the future as the other, more mature car companies make the commitment to EVs.
they're not selling the 75 anymore
is there grey/ smoked aluminum around the screen? is that factory?
They changed that around June last year. I like it as it brings a more modern look
Dude u reviewed the hell out of that car
Impressive!
I'm waiting for my Model 3 Performance but still find the S more beautiful. Just afraid it's going to be facelifted as it's a bit old now...
WiZe1972 I agree that the S is much more attractive. The 3 still has that quirky EV look at the front of the car. Nonetheless, the Performance 3 is awesome.
Wow I live in delaware too!!!
That car is very rare in Delaware. I've only seen this car and a white one.
I test drove this car earlier and I will say this car will ruin all cars for you. Don’t drive it unless you intend to buy it because you will be depressed when you go back to your car. The performance and technology is something out of this world.
why they stop the sun roof ?
They're still like unicorns around these parts (SC). You said they got rid of the sunroof? Do they still come with the panoramic roof or is that now an option too? I hate that they got rid of that child seat in the trunk area too. Anyway.. The model S used to be top on my list but I'm liking what Audi is doing with the ETron.
Big screen still no dark mode 😎
Ita price?
$600 carbon fiber option on the dashboard. Yikes! 💸
Until, the Tesla models receive a ‘heads up display’ option, I can’t purchase one. The 2015 Genesis 3.8 (G80) that I own has this option. I no longer view the speedometer.
Awesome car
My dream car!
5:48 “You cannot get the sunroof...” Do you mean you sunroof is standard and you cannot not option it anymore?
The glass roof is standard but you can no longer get a roof that opens. From what I've heard about Tesla build quality, that means it won't let in air but it will still let in water. :-)
@Redline Reviews the model x and model s plaid's are insanely fast
Is that a scratch underneath the right spliter?
It's a press car so I'm sure, it matches the curb rash on the RF wheel.
I can't decide if I like the S, X or 3 more! All have pros and cons.
I thought about it this way when deciding: If you need space, model 3 is out. I bring strollers, bikes, skis etc and the S just swallows stuff. The X is even better, 5 seater could stora basically anything except when you're moving:p If you want efficiency, X is out, its quite thirsty and you probably need the 100Kwh battery making it a very expensive vehicle. If you want a super zippy car nr. 2 for commuting and fun, model 3 is the best (probably BMW i3 is even better though imo, but shitty range). So I went for the S 75D and I'm super happy:) By far the best car I've ever owned or even tried. Good luck!
