      I love how they intersperse different story lines and somehow they cut the most poignant moments together, like Roy standing up for Nate was built up over the course of the episode, same as the Trent Crimm story, and they seemingly have nothing to do with each other but simply through editing they lead you to the moral of the story. And that's when you realize they did it on purpose.

      A British person will never say "root for him". Root in America means to support. Root in Britain means to fuck.

      @@whartanto2 Root for him isn't a common term here I would agree aye, but it seems fairly common sense for what is meant in context. As for all the four countries within this country, we've clearly got a lot of different terms, terminologies, slang, or whatever else. I've personally ever heard the term root, in the term you suggest. I'd love to know where that comes from? Can't go wrong with a good shag mind, myself personally just never known root as the same term for a good doing over. I suppose that's just down to the very varied dialects across the isles.

    i love the moment in the restaurant scene where ted tells trent that he enjoyed their time together and trent just looks at him and says, "you really mean that, don't you?" trent is of course, speaking as the audience with that line, but i think it's also the moment where trent (and by extension, we) decide to root for ted. the show overall is so refreshingly sincere, but also really multilayered, and it speaks volumes when trend is finally able to see that there's more to ted than his goofy persona. that he's the kind of person who is careful with his words, but also genuinely means every word he says. he's not oblivious to the way most people underestimate him, but as trent saw, he still chooses to be kind.

    Whatever you think of Ted Lasso as a football coach, I assure you, the truth is harder to swallow ... And swallow you must, because Ted is out there in the community either bravely or stupidly facing the music. That's for you to decide ... And, yes, he's in over his head. He insisted twice that he didn't care if Richmond won or lost. But if the Lasso way is wrong, it's hard to imagine being right ... In a business that celebrates ego, Ted reins his in. His coaching style is subtle. It never hits you over the head ... slowly growing until you can no longer ignore its presence ... Whether that means allowing followers to become leaders, or in a show of respect, eating food so spicy it's sure to wreak massive havoc on his intestinal system ... And though I believe that Ted Lasso will fail here, and Richmond will suffer the embarrassment of relegation, I won't gloat when it happens. Because I can't help but root for him.

      Season 1&2 Spoilers ahead
      I think he's already been a major part of Nate's undoing just in a way that doesn't really involve anything he specifically did.
      -Roy gave Nate a voice on the team by stopping him from being bullied, which led to further success that he didn't know how to navigate.
      -Nate started doing the "be bigger" advice by spitting at himself due to not getting THE table at his favorite restaurant. Meanwhile the hostess and Nate reference Roy Kent and how if Nate was Roy it wouldn't have been a hassle.
      -Nate's hair starts shifting gray after Roy's emergence as a coach, we legitimately see Nate become actively nervous and almost afraid.
      -Nate kisses Keely and Roy doesn't respect him enough as a threat for it to mean anything, meanwhile was prepared to kill Jamie for "saying words"

    This is the moment Keely decided she was done with boys and wanted a man. The sheer amount of masculinity used to help someone bullied like Nate is exactly what she was looking for. An alpha who used his power for good. Roy was the diamond in the rough. A big tough and gruff guy with a giant heart looking to love and be loved. Tartt never stood a chance

      Mate, only wolfes in captivity have alpha, beta and omega males. Don't be held captive, be free, don't use cringy words like alpha.

    • @shadowofhawk55
      @shadowofhawk55 2 роки тому

      That’s actually false. Sure, they may not have a pack hierarchy but the alpha male wolf is the one getting the choice mates while the betas, deltas, and omegas get the left overs.

      @@shadowofhawk55 again: only Wolfes in captivity behave that way. In the wild, they usually move in family units. The very zoologist that published his observations of pack hierarchy had to later revise his observations and admitted to have observed Wolfes in captivity at the time.

      @@IHSchwingo Yes, family units. And which wolf is the one getting to reproduce? The bigger stronger one that can provide for the mate and cubs or the weaker one with a cough? One is an alpha and one is an omega. It's a genetical ID not a hierarchal one.

      I think that's one level of meaning -- there's also the original Biblical parable of the wayward (e.g., prodigal) son that was an inspiration for the Kansas song. (Which is about the slavery abolitionist John Brown, of all people.) Layers and layers of meaning. Very cool.
