It's the obvious--and very real--red eyes from so many of the cast in this scene that just does me in every time I watch it. Coach Beard's face ... Nate's ... Roy's ... What an incredible series. For my money, the best ever made.
The fact that each team member keeps in a place that means something to them, like Sam keeps it behind the Nigerian team photo, Jamie keeps it in the book he got from Ted, Isaac keeps it strapped in with the captain's band, shows that Ted and his coaches have truly impacted the team in a deep and personal way. I love this show so much.
Since I was 17 (military now 50 retired a long time ago) I can tell you the names and faces of the men that inspired me like Ted Lasso inspired his team. If you do get the rare chance to follow one of these great leaders, take it in and remember that there aren’t many like them and allow yourself to be in awe of their talent.
I know some may say this scene is overdone... But man it had to be. This moment... Is so damn beautiful... To see the growth of every single individual in this club. Not just the starters, not just Rebecca, not just the kit man, not just the assistants but every single person in this club has been influenced and improved by this man. And he was damn proud of who they grew to be. Yes they may not need him anymore. They may all be at a point in their lives where they are ready to go to the next challenge but they ALL carry a piece of him with them. And that's what this scene represented. Ted changed their life. He now will always be a part of them going forward no matter where or what or how they choose to live it. They may be ready to move on but there's no mistaking, Ted Lasso will forever be a part of who they are. You couldn't illustrate this simple message any better... Quoting another franchise hear that I think applies... "We are what they grow beyond... That is the true burden of all masters."
Nice detail that Jamie's was kept in a copy of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Beautiful and Damned--it was the book he received from Ted in Season 1 that he threw away almost immediately. Love the small callbacks.
I can honestly say this has become my all time favorite show. It was as close to perfection as any comedy/drama show I have seen. From the writing to the characters and the actors/actresses who portray them.
It's so gratifying to see a show revel in personal growth, joy, and friendship. There's no real "villains", just people making mistakes and learning from them. It's so wonderful. Colin kissing his man at the end made me cry. When I was a kid I never thought I'd see the day where a gay kiss is treated exactly the same as any other.
I miss this show so much. The way they pull you into the character’s and story make you laugh and cry. It is one of the best series I have ever watched. And I am watching it all over again. Loved it and miss it.
This scene always brings a tear to my eye. Who would have thought this "Believe" sign would mean so much and how it would come full circle from episode 1. What an amazing show where it showed us the importance of kindness, forgiveness, friendship, and that it is better to be curious than judgmental. I miss this show and all the characters.
As a former ballplayer and coach I can tell you there is nothing in sports that compares to when a team finally understand the we is so much greater than the I. I fear in todays social media society so many players only care about themselves and “getting the bag”. I am afraid this type of sacrifice is lost forever.
I was always such a cynical cock in life, but this show has made me want to be a better person, a more hopeful person, so thank you everyone involved in this amazing show
This show was only 3 seasons, but it will be remembered AND RANKED along with the top comedic contemporary masterpieces such as MASH, CHEERS, FRIENDS, FRAISER, SEINFELD.
The look between Ted and Nate. Goes back to their earlier talk when they both say they still see the sign on the wall. Maybe because it was still there in the dressing room.
Great show came in told a great story with incredible characters and didn’t stick around to diminish its own legacy now I’d love to see the show continue with the story of Roy Kent and a new generation of Richmond players with a few old faces and cameo’s as Brett is a great writer but if that’s all we get we where lucky to have had it
I was really hoping during this scene that after everyone put in their piece and assembles to sign, there would be one piece missing and then Nate would have it... I know it's kinda cheesy, and might be not fit into the evil nate arc, but just my thought
My only complaint is I wish they would have done a better job getting closer to the smaller characters. When Ted says I loved getting to know each and everyone of you I feel he really didn't. Of course maybe he did without the writing but I would have like just a little to know who the others were. Am I wrong?
Isaac McAdoo was the only character I didn’t care for. A complete homophobe and not very motivational as a “leader”. The captain should have been Jamie or Sam.
Genuinely made me more patient, understanding and forgiving as a person. A miraculous feat for that "random soccer show on AppleTV that I heard was good."
Everyone who wants to be a better person or make the world a better place needs to watch this show. I don’t think any individual piece of fiction is enough to change your life. But gosh darn it’s a freaking amazing start

Jason, you made us a team! You brought excitement and knowledge and made us all feel a part of the team. You w be dearly missed Coach! I mean BIG TIME missed. 😂
Don't know if it's great acting or real emotion but you can hear Jason's voice crack a couple of times during his first couple of sentences. What a scene
The fact they could of never imagined how much he would come to mean to them is magical here and i love the fact that trent crimm became part of the team and had is hand in at the end ❤❤
I usually avoid the end of a show that I love like I have loved this show but I believed they would end it in a way that elevated everything about the show and this scene is the perfect example of that. I will be sad but I know I am not alone and I will smile because it happened.
The only time Ted's voice even slightly cracks is where he tells the team he's loved getting to know every single one of them. This show is as close to perfect as can be.
Ted Lasso was luminous and inspiring It reminded us of the bedrock of ethics, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Not to be confused by this new dark rule, “do unto others before they do unto you “. Life is hard and the path forward is often obscured by our own clutter. Could the bottle where Richard Montlaur keeps his piece of the "Believe"-sign be the one he kept the sand from the beach where he first slept with a Supermodel in (Season 1, the episode where everyone sacrifices something valuable)? If so, that would be a nice detail that shows how much it meant to him.
I don't think I have ever seen a series finale that has left me wanting more, another season, a sequel, a spin-off, anything...more than this right here...
What really got me in this scene is the subtitle shot when the players all bend down to reassemble the sign and you notice Ted isn't looking down at it he's looking straight at Nate

this is such a feel good series
The look between Ted and Nate. Goes back to their earlier talk when they both say they still see the sign on the wall.
Maybe because it was still there in the dressing room.
Ted’s Fourth and final key to the Lasso Way was always there, just above their heads.
NGL when they all pulled out pieces of the sign and put them on the bench, it wrecked me.
This show did a nice job using a sport to demonstrate the value of genuine human integrity.
Who can’t relate to that?
I’ve watched this so many times. Love it. The more I watch it I start to wonder, do you think they knew everyone else had a piece of the sign?
I think Jason said these lines from the heart just happened to fit into the script
Perhaps the best 5min in TV history

It honestly looked like beard was going to cry when they started putting the sign pieces in the middle.
If you watch Nate carefully, he is having a terrible time holding it together in that moment. We're with you, Nate.
I love the reference to Jamie reading the book he through away first episode
Richard had his in the same bottle the sand from the beach was in. It was his something special thing he threw into the fire

@@phrophetsamgamesWell, I'm a slow reader myself...
I loved that it was the book Ted gave him in season 1 he had thrown in the trash. And now, it is well worn, as if from repetitive reading.
I love the eye contact and unspoken words between Ted and Nate when the team starts to reassemble the sign.
And the eye contact when when he says “there ain’t a whole lotta places like AFC Richmond either”

The subsequent times it was a happy and proud cry.
I cried three times during the finale.
