My alltime favorite rc!!! Still have a few that i will never get rid of.. i actually built a full 18r with flipped lowers to extend the wheelbase and converted it to the Sc18!! These platforms will always have a special place in my heart!!
I have the one you didn’t mention, the RC18MT (Monster Truck) and I have a full bag of OEM spare parts brand new in the package. I haven’t used it in years, but it was one of the most durable cars I owned as a kid in the early 2000’s.
I see these making a comeback, I set mine up for drifting. A lot of fun drifting. They are “cartoon” looking in a cool way.
I had gotten back into rc's after a bunch of years off thanks to the RC18 platform and since a local hobby shop had a indoor carpet track.. I still have my spec class RC18r and offroad class brushless 18t.. My son now uses the 18t but running a stock motor in it..
I have an Rc18r completely stock from a long time ago… I’m trying to decide if I should put a brushless motor in it and maybe buy a LiPo Battery

We had a great stock class race series. Brushed motors but you could use lipo batteries. Some of the most fun racing ever.
I still have 2 that i used to race. No doubt the best 1/18 scale ever made god watching this video really brings back memories! love all your videos Mark keep up all the hard work bud i smile every time i watch one! I love that non-scale look it reminds me of the Tamiya Honda City Turbo and it’s Ocult following.
I still have a few of these in the collection I remember we used to flip the lower control arms on the 18t front and rear to increase the wheel base by about a quarter of an inch or so ,but I had to also use adjustable turnbuckles to correct the severe toe out in the front. 🤓
I have one RC18R still completely stock I’m adding a motor and what not from 2021. Do you have any parts for sale?
Sportwerks recoil pro was my favourite mini in Australia (1/14). 9000kV brushless combo on 3s with foams. I wish I saw these little monster over here.
I miss mike’s man. Love hearing you reminisce. That place was my childhood. I’d fly my um Trojan over that carpet track and bash my rustler on the indoor dirt track
Absolutely love these things! Currently have a really clean RC18T with a Castle Mamba Micro Pro powering it! Currently got it up for sale at the moment but if it doesn't sell then might as well keep it!
Most FUN and DURABLE rc ever IMO. I was a manager at a Hobby People when these came out and its the most fun ive ever had. They were so freaking durable and parts were dirt cheap so it was easy to have a ton of spare parts in case you broke them. I clocked 102mph with one on a ProSpeed Radar gun. Now ive been out or RC Cars for the last 8 years or so, is there anything that compares to the durability and fun that these provided?
Stoked to see this. My son and I got into the mini scene at the start of the pandemic. Started with the Mini-t 2.0, but i've always loved 4wd rigs. A little research brought me to the RC18 platform. My RC18T is now my go-to fun rig. Yes, spare and replcement parts are an issue, but roller come up often and i've stocked up. Lol. I also bought a few B2/T2 rigs. Super fun and capable. They don't build them like this anymore.
I had an 18r, I strongly recommend a full electronics upgrade, these things are extreme rippers, also the latrax wheels&tires are awesome, oh the memories of backpacking my little Citroen to school, drifting the halls ahhh
I ran the hobby wing brushless set up on mine, and was gonna upgrade the servo but I broke an axle and never got to finding parts
We had a small track and we ran these all the time. I ran the Buggy and the short course truck, it was the greatest. I was so upset when they discontinued then. I never understood why Traxxas came out the 1/16 evo. If it would of been 1/18 it would of been epic with losi also in it. We raced in a 2 car garage, in a parking deck and we had small offroad track. Miss those days
I still have my RC18T and RC18R, and they still run fast. RC18R was upgraded with a MAMBA PRO, RC18T is stock.
I just got one of these lol if i want to go brushless do i need to upgrade anything besides the esc and motor? Do you know what size brushless motor fits the car?

Does anyone know why they got rid of the Rc18 chassis twice? I remember they brought out a second revision with the reflex and apex mini but was it because there was always a demand but it quickly died down? I just wish they would release another set i have 3 of them and its sad to see so many limited parts on aftermarket anymore 😔

My buddy had a Mini-T and I the RC18T both with 3s mambas back in middle school (almost 20 years ago now, wow); I swear they did 80+MPH lmao
I preffered the RC18 > Mini-T as his would do standstill inverted back flips; mine would dart a line down the road. ;)

I've got one of these with all aluminum upgrades that I've used on and off, always had a ton of fun with it. I have an old Novak 8.5T Sensored system that I was originally going to put back into my Losi Mini 8ight. You've inspired me to go back to the one I had the most fun with though, gonna get my RC18 back on the track!
I remember these, great little RC. I was all over the Losi's during this time but this was on the wish list for sure. I was more into the 14th scale than the 18th scale stuff at the time.
The RC18t were probably just as fun as a large scale monster truck back in the day! Before me and my buddy got our drivers license we both bought the 18ts as perfect backpack RCs for the day to go spot to spot with our bikes. Good times! But unfortunately parts are so hard to find now for them and restoring my old one.
I'm 14 and I have a Maxx and me and a couple of friends take our rcs out and bike to different spots. I thought that was pretty cool you did the same thing. Have a good night man!
@@cameroneshleman4833 oh yeah, very cool your doing the same thing! My parents worked during the day so if I wanted to run I had to wait for them to get home. Or took it into my own hands and loaded the backpack up and went to rip them lol. Hell I rolled around with a t-Maxx in one backpack and my friend would carry his RC with a gallon on nitro for mine lol Gotta do what you gotta do to rip as a kid!

Hi bro im happy to see that some guys like you and me are so inlove with that 18r.. mine has a mini mamba motor on it.. but the only problem i have was the lipo battery. I had only one of that 18r and its so hard for me to find now the battery of that 18r. Im here in Phil. And its hard to fine a lipo bat.. do you know that size or can you give me the size of the battery? Mm or cm or inch.. i will be so happy to hear fron you.. its been a long time i didnt play my 18r so i dont have any of the battery.. thanks bro..enjoy playing.. hope i can run my 18r too.. 😊
Hello, so yes I also needed to get one, and then 2. Fully blue aluminium tuned RC18T, seen in my video, and after 17 years I will try them again, as I only had problems and drove both the brushless Mini-T and the RC-18T once and there was a shock tower broken and the RC18T broke the shaft and I lost the pinion gear, and now I need pinion gears and want the aluminium shock towers and ... well I have the stock steering which annoys me too :-) Now I'm near to buying 2 x RC18T2 but are they any good with rims instead of cardans? l loved the original 27hz brushed 380s 4x4 18RTR they were pretty damn tough and great for racing a stock class on indoor track !! l m looking at belt drive truggy right now HMMM ?? anything l should know??

These cars were kinda before my time in rc, but guys at my local track have talked about how they used to race them there on carpet. Seems like they were a lot of fun!
I really like these cars. At one time a group of us ran a point series and we race in teams. We ran two heats and a main and each team had three drivers. Each race we would rotate cars so we took turns with each car. At the end of the season we gave out little plastic trophies from a dollar store. They were fun.

Can you suggest a motor and servo for RC18R??
So motor and servos are iffy nowadays but if you get one of the castle 0808 motor and compatible esc you should be set there. As for a servo for one of these guys i recently dove into this.... you pretty much have to get rid of the servo saver(which is an upgrade to the already fairly sloppy steering) but run a metal gear servo. I chose to grab a micro savox servo off amazon for around 30 bucks but i had to trim the included servo horn and install the ball end and other portion of the steering on one of the included horns and it really made the steering much more stable. Biggest problem is that it is capable of damaging the servo or the servo horn breaks which is a bummer since you have to remake the horn again. But yea ive completely gone through three of my super modded rc18s recently and i had to hunt down a way to mount a more modern servo

I still have my rc18t factory team kit , I liked it so much that once they went to belt drive I built an rc18b shaft drive from scratch ordering it piece by piece and put a tekin mini rage 9000kv and a super small 2s venom lipo in it lol and other stuff like the mip shafts and metal diffs! It's still wicked fast!

I still have my rc18mt with flag body, and a red rc18t sitting on my display shelf. The Mt still is drivable, but I accidentally broke part of the steering linkage working on the T. When I bought them, I bought myself the MT, the T was for my son (he traded me for a newer rc a few years ago),band I bought the rc18b for my ex-son in law. Wish I would have bought the full blue aluminum upgrades kit bitd. Would look epic on the shelf. I still will do the brushless upgrades to both trucks eventually, and I swapped the reciever so I can use my Flysky GT3C. I don't see a link to post the pics you wanted, but I do have a boring running video of the MT on my UA-cam channel .
Man I remember we use to race those at hobbytown USA in San Antonio tx and it was super fun I had 3 of them and I made 1 brushless
I have a losi mini sct and can't find part anymore, specifically tires and wheels which are about the only thing that wasn't the same as the mini b/t

Sadly it's not the greatest. If only these didn't have severe servo issues. I've tried everything, aluminum horn and bell cranks, hitec/savox serov. You could never get rid of the steering slop EVER. The steering system was horrible.
So I need to buy new servo any suggestions on one that will work for the Rc18r…
@@nickbueno5522 I used a hitec 65mg that was glued directly to the chassis
Most of the steering slop is contributed by loose ball ends and the screws for the center link ive made my steering very tight on my 3 rc18s (rc18b,r, and t) while getting rid of the servo saver and using metal gear servos. Havent broken servos but i have broken the horns but they are easily replaceable
I remember doing the Hitec HS65 servo upgrade and it was perfect.
i wish they would re release the rc 18 line i want another one so bad i had a rc18t that i went all aluminum and mamba brushless foam 1/10 tires thing was a rocket but i was young so i sold it for pennies of what i had in it def miss it i did pick up another rc18t but seen how hard it was to come by parts and did not want it to be a shelf queen i passed it on
That was my first rc when it came out and i had the blue Subaru and grey Gtr r32 body and put fuse brushless motor
