Metric Modulation is an illusion where it sounds like you've sped up or slowed down, when really you're just playing a different note rate. In this song, Gergo Borlai plays multiple different note rates to trick the listener into thinking he went out of 4/4 time - when really he's not going anywhere!

My favorite drumming involves the drummer escaping out of a brutal/busy sort of jam. Huge jams; deft escapes. Gergo is Houdini.

Such confusing beat, why even bother using ? I mean its cool and all, but all he does is just shows tehnique imo.
That's the whole point though, It's a showcase. If you learn it then you can use it musically when it matters.
Unofficially it's a bunch of beats known as playing dirty. It adds a drummers touch to a song that might sound boring...I like it cause it throws people off beat and you see them struggle to nod their head then disagree with it and then you get back in sync with 4/4. It's fun and interesting to practice.
+Hugo Loya Yeah i agree on that its fun when people mess up "headbang" and getting confused, but if the whole song is like that then people who listents to the song wouldnt enjoy it
