Nice pick ups, Glen! Every time I go to Value Village the CDs are crappy, ha ha. You should have grabbed all the good Van CDs, as some of them are worth more than what they were selling them for.
Cool that got to see Kathleen Edwards. I know you're a big fan. A couple years ago, you recommended one of her albums to me on a cd exchange. I remember liking her writing and voice. Bruised Orange is a solid Prine album. Great pick-ups, Glen.
Hi Glen!!! Not bad at all, great additions to the collection and with the extra discount..... always cool to get some classic blues like Buddy Guy, also nice surprise to see that Pat Metheny cd, not a big fan of newage/jazz music, but i remember in the 90's many tv spots used his music!!! cheers and be well
Bless you ! Hope you didn't get any on you. Look like some great buys ! Every time I go out looking for music ( which isn't much any more ) I always forget about John Prine , I love his songs ,he so good. Take care Glen !
The Wes Montgomery album alone is worth it, exactly what it says on the cover: absolutely incredible jazz guitar. The Miles comp isn't bad, I got it many years ago.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to you as well. I’ve done well at value village recently too. Snagged some decent LPs and some nice blues CDs as well. Gazuntite 🤧 Good haul. Cheers
Love Kathleen Edwards! I only saw her once (so far), about 20 years ago (about) in a Burlington, VT coffee shop (I forget the name of it). She plays up around there a lot but it's so far to go. Glad to hear she releasing new old stuff. Maybe the Miles Davis compilation would be good to listen to if you have company and you want variety. I don't know. That is a great Pat Metheny solo recording - Ferry Cross the Mersey is such a wild card on it! Worth the price of admission for sure! Love the blues stuff you got as well - Buddy Guy is the last original. I have that CD somewhere. And of course John Prine - love that CD! Classic! You got a great deal! I wish I were as thrifty as you. I ain't. Peace!
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement I had to find my CD. You probably have listened to it by now. The tone Metheny gets with the open tuning is superb. It's like being inside the guitar (not that I have been inside one). The notes say he was experimenting for himself. I think it's a great recording to listen to with intent as well as background music, if you have folks over. It's beautiful and not intrusive. Have you heard Alison Brown - On Banjo? Glen, if you haven't, I highly recommend you track it down. It's so good! Also Twilight Motel! Whew!
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement not while she owned it. She sold it a while back when she decided to resume her career. It's now an Equator Coffee shop. I've been to it but after she sold it.
I know that The Beatles are absolutely the last band you want to see or hear, but the other night we went to see a show called 'The Beatles vs. The Stones.' It was 2.5 hours of excellence. Not only were both cover bands superb, but they impersonated that band members so that it was really like watching 60s Beatles and Stones. If they swing by your way, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen because it was so realistic. And 2.5 hours of Beatles and Rolling Stones classics takes some beating. But you hate The Beatles now, so go along anyway and burn some sage in protest.

Good time to play ‘Tuesday Morning’ by Koss!
What, no Beach Boys? Larry’s gonna be VERY disappointed! 😂
lol…
Glen, I have several Pat Metheny albums, but not those. A solo guitar album might be interesting. Thanks, Chris

Kathleen Edwards, from right here in Stittsville. She's great. Lots of great blues and jazz finds!

I don’t hate The Beatles !!! Just taking a year off..
Yes, I know. But if this show rolls by, I'd go.
No Beach Boys? 😊🤣 I like Buddy Guy's Chess Records material. I don't like the earlier Miles Davis stuff as much. I start with "Milestones" from 1958.
Agree on both fronts..and no Beach Boys, although I did see a hits CD there..lol..
