Good to see you Glen ! Good video with some great picks ! Love John Prine ,Sticky Fingers the best Stones album I think and Tulls Auqua Lung played that quite a bit back in the day. I still can't get into Yes , something about their style I can't get used to. Take care sir.
Quite a few major artists you didn’t pick, David Bowie, The Clash, CCR, Elvis Costello, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Leon Russell, Marvin Gaye, Little Feat, Talking Heads, The Doors, Television, Sly and the Family Stone, Paul Simon, Jimi Hendrix, Nick Lowe, Family, all these artists/bands made some cracking albums in the 70’s
I'm with you on Aqualung , in fact it's my favourite album period . A perfect blend of acoustic and electric rock . Great to see Chicago II on your list as well . Here's mine off the top of my head : Jethro Tull : Aqualung Pink Floyd : Dark Side of the Moon Yes : Fragile Genesis : Selling England by the Pound David Bowie : Ziggy Stardust Supertramp : Crime of the Century The Who : Who's Next Elton John : Honky Chateau Elvis Costello : This Year's Model Bob Dylan : Blood on the Tracks Chicago : Chicago II Be Bop Deluxe : Modern Music Rolling Stones : Sticky Fingers Gordon Lightfoot : Sundown Bruce Cockburn : Salt , Sun & Time Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes : Hearts of Stone Bruce Springsteen : Darkness on the Edge of Town The Doobie Brothers : The Captain & Me Max Webster : High Class in Borrowed Shoes The Strawbs : Hero & Heroine Deep Purple : Machine Head Fleetwood Mac : Fleetwood Mac Joe Jackson : Look Sharp ! Little Feat : The Last Record Album Cheers !
@@GlenKellawayfromthebasement Thanks ! Since I did it off the top of my head , I completely forgot about Neil Young’s Harvest , and Stevie Wonder’s Innervisions .
Great video. Heep! My fave Bruce album! Eat a peach, so good. Great Jackson Browne! Barnstorm! Yes! So hard to pick just 24 from that decade! Nice job. Cheers
Hi Glen!!! Yes another cool one and nice your choices for the 70's, that's a huge task trying to just pick up the best 24 album..... it was a nice thing to see Uriah Heep making the cut , but i thought you would be picking "Look at Yourself" or "The Magicians.....". Anyhow nice to see two Stones high on your list and Jethro Tull's as your N°1. cheers and be well
Great list. I love a list that comes from the heart and is not based on what were the easy, known picks. It's the music that moves you. A lot of my favourites would not be on most people's lists. My #1 has been my #1 since its release, McDonald & Giles. I can't explain why, it just is. If I can only have one, this is the one.
All excellent albums there. No disputes! I can understand why you didn't like Yes initially. Jon Anderson has that eunuch, falsetto voice that can be annoying, but early Yes had a robustness that offset it. 'Galactic Zoo Dossier' deserves to be right up there - maybe the greatest album of the 70s. Nothing to do with the 70s, I get to see Lucinda Williams on Tuesday! I think it will be quite an experience.
Thought you were still recovering from the Beach Boys. That's a topic I'd have to spend some time think about. For Bruce I would pick Born to Run, Wish You Were Here for Floyd, IV for Zeppelin. For ABB (Fillmore album if we'd include live albums), the Stones, Joe Walsh we'd have the same. No idea who else I would have in there. Fleetwood Mac - s/t for sure, Rory Gallagher - Tattoo, Free - Fire and Water,...
Of course we missed ya.. Great list but i would have to bump a few of yours to add. Tom Waits: Small Change The Clash: London Calling David Bowie: Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars Alice Cooper: Killer Lou Reed: Transformer The Sensational Alex Harvey Band: Next Did you get your new speakers yet ?
Glen, good to see you back! Is your copy of Eat A Peach an old DVD-A audio disc? The size of the case just seems a little larger than the standard jewel case. CD and cassette are the only way to listen to this album. I would have put American Beauty in the top 5.
@GlenKellawayfromthebasement I thought the way you said it was Canadian way .I thought maybe I was wrong I Googled pronunciation.. Awe quaw lung. Btw i couldnt believey luck. Went to.giant indoor yardsale / flea market bought 25 cds more than.half unopened. John Mayall. Clapton.4 Jimi Hendrix. Best of Vanilla Fudge few Jethro tull kinks neil young , warren Zevon U2, supertramp who etc. All 25. $5. NOT each.for ALL 25 for $5 dollars
Welcome back! Nice to see some Beatles members in your top 24 but Paul is missing... Physical Graffiti is my 2nd favorite double album of all time!
It was hard to leave Paul out..I had to take a week off to recover from those Beach Boy albums..I was having nightmares that Al Jardine was after me..
Good to see you again. 👍🤘

Quick question, you said Eat a Peach at number 18,nothing gets better than this. Why is it not number one 1😂,cheers Glen good picks 👍
I won’t disagree..I figured yours would be WHO’s Next
Thought you were still recovering from the Beach Boys.

I will never recover from that..I am now in therapy..
