Just my opinion, but I preferred Ruffalo to Gosling's Ken... especially that crazy dance scene with Emma Stone. His arc from self-assured rake to a whiny lovestruck loser was hysterical. KOTFM and Poor Things were my favourite movies of 2023. Barbie and Maestro are overrated. Guess I'll be rooting for Oppenheimer.

Other craft nominations are with lower likelihood of winning, such as hair/makeup and production design. The lowest chance of winning is going to be supporting actress, but even without that win, it would be considered a sweep.
I’ve said it since they announced it. Putting Lily Gladstone in Leading was a mistake. It’s much too competitive a year and her role is absolutely a supporting role. If she was placed in the supporting category I think she would have had a deserving sweep during this award season.

Maybe they didn't buy her attempt to get into Best Leading role. It is a supporting performance, and she has less screen time than DeNiro who was nominated in Supporting Actor.

BAFTA with it's jury picks makes it kinda irrelevant to Oscars overlap tbh. My take, if you didn't get nominated at BAFTAs its not bad for your Oscar chances but if you did it gives you a slight boost. The BAFTAs are just sooo British. The guilds are the biggest precursors in my opinion. So many actors who miss BAFTA go on to get an Oscar nom and for some they actually win the Oscar. Also Oscar voting closed on the 16th so these won't effect the nominations.
There is a lot more overlap with BAFTAs and Academy Awards these days than you think, and the boost is more than slight. Remember "All Quiet on the Western Front" last year?
