I just got back from the movie. Despite it not being for anybody, it was an incredible movie and was very insightful. Also Jeremy and Sebastian both killed it
I agree wholeheartedly. It was a very well-made movie. The acting was superb! I judged not by the people it was about, but by the quality of the movie. I already knew the background, but enjoyed the script details. It was well presented and interesting. Not like some Lifetime biopic. Much better than I thought it would be.
I honestly wouldn’t. I’m interested in all character studies. For example, I was never a fan of Wendy Williams, but I think next Netflix did her dirt by showing the worst part of her. I didn’t get that from The Apprentice.
It’s definitely a movie where it’s biggest problem is that nobody would want to watch it, but I do think it’ll age incredibly well once we have some distance away from the hellhole that is today
I wonder if it will face the same struggles as Oliver Stone's "W." It came out in October 2008, when everyone was tired of George W. Bush and looking forward to the new voices (Obama), so the interest for a Dubya biopic was very low. Despite it's stellar cast, it was pretty much forgotten. Although "The Apprentice" seem to garner much better reviews, so it might hold up better.
I really dislike Trump and I will definitely watch this when it comes to streaming service. Doesn't feel like a movie that you need a cinema for though.
I'm waiting for the movie in 10-20 years that talks about the Epstein Club - how folks like Trump, Piers Morgan, Derschowitz, Bill Clinton, have all been supporting each other in an unspoken pact, each hoping the others will not out them all (at least, not before they die).
@billybob1723 Was just watching her on CNN with Anderson Cooper asking questions. She was fighting back tears. She won't even take questions from random people. How the heck is she going to deal with leaders from the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, etc) who think women shouldn't be in power. Her voice was shaking and she was fighting tears. She does not have the strength and fortitude to deal with threats from people like North Korea, China. Hate Trump all you want, we are safer with him.
The Reagan administration was an utter disaster. We can all thank Reagan for defunding mental health programs, now look where we are, even congress is teeming with mental patients
Those of us who grew up in the 80s remember trump in the 80s and 90s as a rich, sleazy, scummy, misogynist asshole…. I don’t know how people could think he is worthy of worship the way maga people go crazy for trump these days. It’s so weird to me that so many people seem so unaware of his past. I’m glad that younger people might see this movie and understand why non-maga people are disgusted by trump in so many ways.
I was expecting something super satirical , but it was actually captivating and most importantly - really good filmmaking. The look and energy of it is something to admire.
The fact that Roy Cohen is gay, a lawyer, and rubs elbows with politicians who are totally against gay people was very perplexing to me. It's like how do you hang around those people who hate your lifestyle. It was so interesting
The other review I saw was only bitching about "Who was this made for? Why was this even made? A movie about Trump doesn't even work unless it's one side or the other." I just commented on their video, "Apparently it was made for me cause I loved it."
Same. Besides, I'm a fan of Sebastian Stan, not his political affiliations (NEVER judge an actor by their politics, you will often be disappointed and will ruin your view of them even if they do a great film also obviously never vote an actor into office, lol) and I can't wait to see Jeremy Strong's Roy Cohn! This is gonna be great! 😁
Another reason why Sebastian Stan does not sound like these comedic impressions of Trump is that Trump himself did not sound like that when he was young. There is a long 1980 interview with him here on UA-cam that he did with Rona Barrett, and he looks and talks nothing like the Trump of today - it's like a completely different and pretty normal (!) person. He changed drastically over the years and all his weird mannerisms and traits became much more exaggerated. Stan watched that interview and other material that gave him the idea of what young Trump was like. Jeremy Strong also watched old videos and listened to audio tracks of Roy Cohn to prepare for the role. Cohn was an infamous, larger than life figure, and after his death, he became a character in Tony Kushner's play Angels in America, which was also made into an HBO miniseries. Ron Liebman (in the original Broadway production) and Nathan Lane (in the broadway revival) both won a Tony for their portrayal of him, and Al Pacino won an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a SAG individual award for playing him in the HBO miniseries. Cohn was also the subject of a biography by journlist Nichlas von Hoffman, called Citizen Cohn, released in 1988, and a TV movie based on it was released in 1992, starring James Woods. Cohn also appears as a supporting character in last year's miniseries Fellow Travellers, which deals with the McCarthy anti-communist witch hunts and the "Lavender scare" in the 1950s, but I think their portrayal of him quite off, even though they cast Will Brill, an actor who bears a strong physical resemblance to Cohn (aside from being a decade older than Cohn was when he was McCarthy's aide).
I knew Trump from coverage in New York media (Village Voice, NY Magazine, NY Times) in the 1980s, when he was a slick, soft-spoken character who looked like he was auditioning for a cologne ad. I had no idea his scripted reality TV show lasted for 14 seasons -- and that's who his fans think he is.
That was the interview they re-created in the movie. Was wondering how they'd do it since I really doubt anyone under the age of 50 remembers Rhona Barrett. And a movie about Cohn starring James Woods? Guessing he makes him out a hero?
@@robotrix No, quite the opposite. It's funny that James Woods starred in Citizen Cohn, because that was very much a "we must spell out for you that he was a very bad man" kind of biopic. Pretty much could be an example how not do movies like that. I just rewatched it a couple of days ago, and the first hour is fine, but then it gets really cringe in the second part, especially towards the end. . They framed it all as him dying in hospital and then we watch various important moments from his life and career, mostly from the 1950s, but they also show hallucination/ghosts of various people we see during the movie haunting him and arguing with him. But this gimmick is not used for any kind of character insight or depth, instead it' becomes just them telling him and the audience that he was very bad (in case we haven't realized that ourselves by watching his actions, I guess?) The low point is where they have a hallucination/ghost (?) version of Joseph Welch, the legal council from the Army hearing who managed to destroy McCarthy on live TV by provoking him - basically by badgering Cohn with homophobic allusions. This is pretty accurately recreated in the movie. But then after that they have a hallucination/ghost (?) version of Welch appear to the dying Cohn to tell him he never had a problem with his sexuality, just the fact he was a hypocrite who persecuted people like himself during the Lavender Scare. That's delivered completely unironically. Clearly the screenwriter didn't realize that statement was very hypocritical too, basically it's saying "it's OK to weaponize homophobia for your political goals if you're a liberal " Or "if you're a straight man who's not genuinely homophobic, it's OK to weaponize homophobia, as long as it's against bad gay people".
I saw the movie. It’s really good and I hate Trump. This isn’t a movie for Trump haters or MAGA lovers. This is an origin story based on factual information and evidence. It also shows the humanity and role of certain relationships. Everyone should see this. Jeremy Strong’s performance as well as Maria Bakalova and Sebastian Stan of course is fantastic. There should be Oscar nominations for his portrayal of Roy Cohn.
That’s the hardest thing to discern sometimes, because many people want a clear cut “hero” or “villain” - even some of the most vile human beings or the most saintly can be understood why they are the way they are, and a movie exploring it can be a good vehicle to help people understand even the most confusing or comically bad things. It’s worse to just hide it and say, “this is bad/good, accept it.” We’re (humankind) always finding ourselves in trouble when we keep reducing things to that level.
I am 43 from the bronx I remember everything this is a fake biopic trying to taint their opinion of what happened it is not factual They are taking data of what they think and making a movie based on bread crumbs dont be fooled TRUMP 2024 but it is a good movie just dont believe it as fact
Not a Trumper but saw it and I agree if this was about a random guy, this film would also stand on its own. Excellent cinematography with the 80’s film style/quality at times likely where there are videos of these moments from the past. Great acting, didn’t toy with my perception of trump whatsoever.
I hadn;t seen him in anything until recently, and he's now one of my favorite actors!! Saw The Apprentice last night and it was incredible. Last week I saw Stan in A Different Man -- where he played a man with a facial tumor condition that caused severe disfigurement who then gets an experimental medical procedure to "fix" his face -- and he was INCREDIBLE in that too.

Yesterday I drove about ten miles away, to a cineplex to see the just released movie The Apprentice (about Trump in the 1970s and 80s). At the 4pm screening I was one of nine people in the audience, and my review is: Since I unfortunately started paying attention to Donald Trump when he descended his “golden” escalator at the Trump Tower on June 16, 2015 to begin his first political campaign - almost ten years ago - nothing in this movie was new to me but as a biography it hit ALL the notes about him in the 1970s and 80s. This movie was well written (100% plausible dialog and situations), superbly acted and produced, and when it ended after two hours I felt dirty and in need of a hot shower.
Watch "Angels in America" for Pacino's take on Roy Cohn. I consider it the best performance of Pacino's career, and if Jeremy Strong can be half as good as Pacino is in that, then Strong deserves the Oscar nomination.
I love Pacino in Angels and I couldn't quite tell if Strong borrowed a lot from that performance or if that's just how Cohn really was and both actors hit the same character notes. Either way, Strong reminded me a lot of Pacino in a good way for this movie.
Im excited to check this one out. I grew up watching the Apprentice tv show with my mom and initially felt indifferent about Trump until he got into politics. And ever since that i like many others don't like him for obvious reasons. I'm also a huuuge Sebastian Stan fan and i was initially skeptical when i first heard about the film but Sebastian Stan continues to show hes willing to make bold acting choices and push himself to the limit to improve his craft.
GREAT MOVIE! The 70s vibe, color grade, casting, and research was on point. Jeremy Strong deserves an Oscar for his performance of Roy Cohen…WOW!!!! 👏👏👏
I can't wait to see it. I wasn't a huge Sebastian Stan fan until I saw him play Tommy Lee. I was pretty impressed even though his performance was a wee bit over the top, which is perhaps why he didn't go so hard on trying to do a caricature of trump.
@@jobobtargaryen1258 I completely understand and I may have gone there myself had someone else said that. However! This is one of those videos where not everyone would understand the joke & might take the "Stan" as an actual stalker fan - Which is what Stan is short for. So, I'm not mad about it ✌🏼
I saw the movie on opening night as well and the way you are explaining the movie is very accurate. I'm glad I saw it No I'm not a fan of him, but I wanted to understand what made him tick how did he get this way to be who he is today. I'm not a fan of his and I don't like him at all, but I needed to get a full understanding of why I don't like him and not just what I see in the media or his rhetoric.

@shannon7779 you said yourself that you needed to watch the movie to get a full understanding of why you don't like him. So basically you needed something to justify why you don't like him.
I just watched the movie, last night. I was impressed, it was well done and it helped me get a clearer grasp of how DJT came to be who he is, today. Emphasis was on his connection to Roy Cohn, and how he used that connection to forge ahead on his development schemes. both Sebastian and Jeremy did a superb job of inhabiting their roles. And Ivana’s character was also well done. I did enjoy it!
Kudos to the Film Drunk’s enlightening review. You expressed so accurately all that I thought but was not able to express after having just seen it. The movie was a surprisingly fair depiction of the beginning of Trump’s evolvement to the person he came to be.
Concur. Trump, the entitled, whinning, spoiled brat he still is, can't avoid committing crimes, unethical behavior, and being the despicable person in words and deeds.
I didn't know what to expect either. When the film starts, they try to make Trump a sympatric character. I thought, here we go. They're making him someone to admire. I was wrong. The tone of the film shifts. It gets darker and darker as it goes on. The eerie soundtrack sets the tone. You start to dislike Donald Trump. You see him for the monster he really is. The movie ends on an ominous note. It's like a warning of what's to come.
I thought it was worthy of viewing. I hate his fkn guts, nothing surprised me, but it was insightful. I hope MAGA goes and sees how fkn ruthless he and Cohn were/are. See doc WHERE'S MY ROY COHN--named after a tRump quote hissy-fit during the Mueller investigation
I’m so sorry you didn’t get the Substance. See it when it’s streams ASAP. Very good, unsettling and at times laugh out loud film. Hang on, you do mean the film, the Substance, not the injectable Substance, don’t you? You don’t want the Substance in your city or anywhere else!
I saw it two days ago. I thought it was a really good movie with great acting. Only one theater within 150 miles was showing it. And they ran it once a day at 515 for one week. 6 people in the theater including me and my wife. Two of them walked out at about an hour in, right after the grape scene.
I feel like I am the only person I know who has no strong opinion on him. I don't hate him by any means, But I also acknowledge him for who he is. A flawed human being just like the rest of us. I appreciated things he did in office. But I feel like I truly am the only one who just.. views him as a person. Not high, not low. Cool movie idea, hope it does well with how it seems to be received!
I’m there with ya dude. If it’s between hater and fan, I suppose I would be closer to the fan side. But, I’d never want to watch this movie if it was putting him up on a pedestal, just the same as if it was depicting him as a buffoon. Trump is a very nuanced person with his own strengths and flaws that, and if that’s the route that movie took with him, then I might have to go and see it.
the dude literally broke the law multiple times trying to stay in power. If that doesn't bother you, then you need to rethink your life. In fact many people were injured, some are now DEAD. and hundreds of his own followers had their lives destroyed from being arrested. All at his direction, for his benefit, and because of his lies. And he would gladly trade their lives for his benefit.
The Apprentice” offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of Donald Trump, focusing more on his business acumen and less on his later political life. As someone who admires certain aspects of Trump-specifically his tenacity and determination-I found the film to be both engaging and insightful. It’s not a flawless portrayal, but it does a solid job of capturing the essence of Trump’s unyielding nature. The film showcases Trump as a businessman first and foremost, someone who doesn’t admit defeat and fights through every challenge. That kind of grit, which I admire, shines throughout the movie. However, the film doesn’t shy away from showing his more controversial and difficult moments, particularly in his personal life. There’s an upsetting scene with Ivana, his first wife, that I found heartbreaking. It’s a reminder that, while Trump’s tenacity may be admirable, he is far from perfect, especially in his relationships and the way he sometimes interacts with those closest to him, including his parents. For me, as a visually impaired viewer, the dialogue-heavy nature of the film was particularly helpful. The talkative scenes allowed me to follow the story easily, and I didn’t feel the need for descriptive audio narration. The pacing kept me engaged, and the character interactions were enough to paint a vivid picture of the events in Trump’s life. Overall, while Trump’s flaws are certainly on display, “The Apprentice” gives viewers a balanced look at his strengths and weaknesses. It portrays a man who, despite his faults, had a remarkable ability to push through adversity and make his mark on the world. Whether you admire him or not, the movie offers an intriguing exploration of a complex figure.
I can believe this film is better than Joker 2. Ali Abbasi is a great director who is able to get top shelf (and often terrifying) performances out of his talent. One need look no further than Holy Spider for evidence of that. Whereas Todd Phillips is a hack, who emulates things he sees from other great directors but has no vision as a director himself.
Joker 2 is definitely better than joker 1. It sucks if you look at it as a story about the batman joker..which it isn't. It is trying to say a lot of things which people in the audience in the movie don't like just like the people in the real world. I dont think it's a masterpiece but it's good and yes if it was directed by a master of the craft like Scorcese, it would be a lot better and impactful. Todd Philips is not an A tier director but he may get better with time
With the casting of Jeremy Strong and its hand held filmmaking, this movie is like a 2 hour episode of succession. Whether or not you have a positive view of Trump (I hate him as a president), this movie was very entertaining
There's a bunch of us r nonpartisan. We like to see topics from a different point of view. Its always good to to hav different points of views from different people. Film is a dieing art.
I am going to go and watch that movie soon. (I am just waiting for a rainy day. I am not going to waste a sunny October day in a movie theater.) People that hate Trump because of his past have an anachronic judgment issue. The 70s and the 80s were very different periods that required different attitudes to just survive. I feel like a lot of haters don't even grasp that reality. In the 70s you had to elbow yourself ruthlessly just to get back home after a day at work. I really like that guy, Donald Trump, because he is so adaptative and always trying to exit by the top. Also, he already proved he was a great president of the US. The best ever. If you don't understand it, I can't help.
Marc Maron had Sebastien Stan as a guest on his WTF podcast the other day, where Stan states the movie is a character study - definitely not a bio pic, as many people claim.
This is where youth comes into the picture. This is a character study, something that is rare in most films today. It is not a destination with a pretty bow to wrap it up. It is a true journey film that has a couple themes which are only understandable with age and life experience. This is not an insult, just a truth about life and living. Great film. Highly recommended.
I feel that we already have a better version of this movie with that one where Christian Bale plays the vice president, it’s the same concept of a cautionary tale where a stupid man has way too much determination, and acomplishes all his goals, but being an awful person you don’t want him to suceed
I don't know if there is a single human being in the world as divisive as Trump. Pretty ballsy move to make a movie about him right behind the election.
I like in the third act how Trump uses what he learned from Roy to alienate everyone and everything, including his humanity. It does create a more unsatisfying conclusion, but I think that was the point, and it fit the theme very well.
Sebastian Stan's and Jeremy Strong's performances alone are 10/10. Spot on, real impressions of people we are all familiar with, without caricature. They humanized these two a-holes wonderfully.
I think one thing that most folks miss, is when Trum initially meets Cohn and is introduced to his 'friends' - they are notorious mob bosses (and clients). It says so much from the start about Cohn's amorality and his notoriety as THE Alpha Shark in the New York legal scene. I felt that the movie humanized all its characters. I don't think it was a hit job OR a P.R. job on any of its characters. It seemed to be even handed with facts I'd long heard about Trump, his family situation, his mentorship by Cohn and his ambition to be the hottest thing in 1980s NYC. Folks criticize the scene where Fred berates Fred Junior at the family table, telling him what a disgrace he is and calling him a bus driver with wings. I've heard similar recollections from his daughter Mary, so I'll give the movie lots of slack. It's no dpocumentary, but most if not all of the incidents and beats of this film seem to come from stories told about Trump over the years. I think it did a great job at humanizing him, and showing how an insecure but ambitious kid from Queens becomes .....(for better or worse) a cultural icon.
As someone who lived through those times, I found it to be very good. I think as a story about the characters it is as much about Roy as it is about Donald. I also am one who does not need that "great moment" to enjoy a movie. Subtlety in art is not a weak or bad thing for me. I feel if you understand that this is as much Cohn's story as it is Trump's the third act works very well. I can see where your lack of knowledge about the times can reduce your appreciation of the story. I lived in NYC during the Beam and Koch administrations.
To me, the movie deals with the Faustian deal between two characters (Trump, Cohn). This has been made a hundred times before in Hollywood, and the movie owns his strength by displaying a complex character. In terms of directing, Ali Abbasi chose to "borrow" from mafia/mob movies from the past (namely The Godfather, Goodfellas and so on). That makes the movie interesting. So it's good but you can feel a lack of "shakespearean" drama. And yes, Sebastian Stan does a good job as an actor.
I just found your channel and I have already subbed and liked. Awesome job with this review I totally agree with you on it. This film as well as the book “All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way Book by Frederick Christ Trump III” made me see a younger version of trump in a different way. 😅
I went to see it. I had to walk out after he raped his wife. I knew about prior but to watch that knowing he’s could be president again. It made me really sick and I cried for days.
@@louclarkson6098 Easily grow? Donald only took over his dad’s business that was already big lol The only reason Donald became famous in the 80s because he televised the company and became the face of it.
Seeing this tomorrow, and my hunch says that Bakalova is going to be the main target of MAGA hate, for crossing Trump's way to the White House for a 2nd time in a row... if that happens, it won't matter her limited screen time, she might sweep notices and support during Awards season, maybe win the Oscar they owe her since 2020.
@Superhero movies aren't good because those that make them are on autopilot. Creativity and interest is going down because the content creators don't care as much. Hopefully James Gunn's DCEU revives interest.

There are countless documentaries about villains, and many dramatizations. I think everyone should see the so we know how we got here.
@@BrigsComics Trump and his father fiercely fought a 1973 discrimination lawsuit brought by the Justice Department for their alleged refusal to rent apartments in predominantly white buildings to black tenants. Testimony showed that the applications filed by black apartment seekers were marked with a “C’’ for “colored.” A settlement that ended the lawsuit did not require the Trumps to explicitly acknowledge that discrimination had occurred - but the government’s description of the settlement said Trump and his father had “failed and neglected” to comply with the Fair Housing Act. The FBI has released nearly 400 pages of records on an investigation the bureau conducted in the 1970s into alleged racial discrimination in the rental of apartments from President Donald Trump's real estate company. The files detail dozens of interviews the bureau conducted with Trump building tenants, management and employees, seeking indications that minority tenants were steered away from housing complexes. Most of those interviewed said they were not aware of any discrimination. However, some of the records recount the stories of black rental applicants who said they were told no apartments were available, while whites sent to check on the same apartments were offered leases. The records, posted on the FBI's Freedom of Information Act website, include a 1974 interview with a former doorman at a Trump building in Brooklyn. A supervisor "told me that if a black person came to 2650 Ocean Parkway and inquired about an apartment for rent, and he, that is [redacted] was not there at the time, that I should tell him that the rent was twice as much as it really was, in order that he could not afford the apartment," the ex-doorman said.

Roy Cohn was unambiguously a real-life supervillain whose dark influence looms over American politics.
i mean it’s not roy’s fault so many politics were corrupt or bad people and he had that dirt on them of the bad stuff their doing.
The fact that Roy Cohen is gay, a lawyer, and rubs elbows with politicians who are totally against gay people was very perplexing to me. It's like how do you hang around those people who hate your lifestyle. It was so interesting

This is gonna be great! 😁
@RyanRogers-o1p I didn't say it was. I was saying that one reviewer believed it had to be to be worth anything.
I saw it yesterday and I was impressed with it. The performances were amazing, particularly Jeremy Strong!!!!
You saw at cinema?
@ yes, in Sydney Australia.
But this gimmick is not used for any kind of character insight or depth, instead it' becomes just them telling him and the audience that he was very bad (in case we haven't realized that ourselves by watching his actions, I guess?)
The low point is where they have a hallucination/ghost (?) version of Joseph Welch, the legal council from the Army hearing who managed to destroy McCarthy on live TV by provoking him - basically by badgering Cohn with homophobic allusions.
Horseshit

That’s the hardest thing to discern sometimes, because many people want a clear cut “hero” or “villain” - even some of the most vile human beings or the most saintly can be understood why they are the way they are, and a movie exploring it can be a good vehicle to help people understand even the most confusing or comically bad things. It’s worse to just hide it and say, “this is bad/good, accept it.” We’re (humankind) always finding ourselves in trouble when we keep reducing things to that level.

Yesterday I drove about ten miles away, to a cineplex to see the just released movie The Apprentice (about Trump in the 1970s and 80s). At the 4pm screening I was one of nine people in the audience, and my review is:
Since I unfortunately started paying attention to Donald Trump when he descended his “golden” escalator at the Trump Tower on June 16, 2015 to begin his first political campaign - almost ten years ago - nothing in this movie was new to me but as a biography it hit ALL the notes about him in the 1970s and 80s. This movie was well written (100% plausible dialog and situations), superbly acted and produced, and when it ended after two hours I felt dirty and in need of a hot shower.
@robbriner9575 Actually, the orange jackass had run for president several times before :)
Watch "Angels in America" for Pacino's take on Roy Cohn. I consider it the best performance of Pacino's career, and if Jeremy Strong can be half as good as Pacino is in that, then Strong deserves the Oscar nomination.

It was an an amazing production and I totally agree that it was Pacino's best performance.
Loved his performance. Jeremy strong is an absolute blast to watch.

Joker 2 is better than Joker 1
Joker 2 is definitely better than joker 1. It sucks if you look at it as a story about the batman joker..which it isn't. It is trying to say a lot of things which people in the audience in the movie don't like just like the people in the real world. I dont think it's a masterpiece but it's good and yes if it was directed by a master of the craft like Scorcese, it would be a lot better and impactful.

I would suggest reading the book “Lucky Loser”
The only gripe I had with this movie was it didn’t end with the love of money by the OJs

@@BrigsComics Thanks for asking. I'll refer you to this Wikipedia article that enumerates his racist statements and acts.

@@willgalison not surprised about the housing in the 70s. Very common at the time. Joe Biden himself was against the desegregation of schools a few years before that. I can see how him accusing those men of rape can be seen as racist but there’s honestly no proof that he thought there were for no other reason than them being convicted of it lol. “The very fine people “ on both sides has been debunked, and was taken out of context and he literally said at that same conference “and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists - because they should be condemned totally. “ I can keep going but this is enough for now.
@@willgalison not surprised about the housing in the 70s, that was happening everywhere and Joe Biden himself was against desegregation in schools a few years prior. The five boys argument makes more sense but there really is no solid proof that he believed they did it other than the fact that they were convicted of the crime. The “fine people on both sides “ was taken out of context and I’ve read up on it. He actually condemns neo Nazis and white nationalists in that same exact conference. Saying there are criminals coming over the southern border isn’t racist either: ms13 is very real and was and still is a big problem.
People who don't like Trump want to see it.
I def don't like tRump, and I def don't want to see it.
@@denisefrenette1928 don't watch it
There are 2 documentary on Roy are so eye opening !!
Have a look at the HBO & Max
Both have different outlooks on Roy but much the SAME.
This man was not a good human!!
Really enjoyed it
Cohn was his mentor. To this day he uses his methods.
The fact that donOld wants to ban the movie! I want to see it😂🤣😭
I wanted so very badly to see it, but October has too many days until payday, and I wasn't spending my last. Not that interested in being without just to see him. But I will see him, and you are the first who completed the run, so do tell.
I might check it out in a decade. Not now. Not now.
Since James Gandalfini has passed, I don’t think a serious trump movie could be made.
They’ve run the numbers; he would be wealthier if he had just put the money that he inherited from his father into a SP500 index fund.
You're saying the film is actually somewhat fair to him? Tbh I expected that two hour hit piece considering what time of the year it is. If that's not the case then I'm mildly intrigued, his NY past is pretty interesting to say the least.
I just came from the theater seeing it, and I was genuinely really surprised. It could have easily fallen to the knees of Trump and praised him to high hell or could’ve been, like you said, a hit piece. It balances that very thin line very well and I think the film is great
@@Kelzp23yea besides a couple of things its pretty fair. And I’m a Trump supporter 😂
That it received the Streisand Effect, says a lot.
i think this movie is extremely important to exist and that biopics for evil people are a good way to at least somewhat encourage people to educate themselves
The director was accomplished, and was serious about his role. Write on.
Great review!
I loved this movie, but my only problem is that it barely explored the dynamic between Donald, his father and his brother. At the same time I think having Roy Cohn as the focus made for a better movie though.
I was also impressed with the portrayal. The angle they chose was a fascinating insight. The acting was also very good. I'm actually impressed with you too that you saw the nuance of it. I wasn't sure if it was too subtle of a performance.
I’m the typa guy to watch every one of Film Drunk’s videos
