Dune: Part Two should have released in December 2023 tbh. Seems like they were a lot more ready but the only reason it got delayed to March 2024 was just to push Aquaman 2 to release as early as possible. You can clearly tell with that film they rushed production. I would have swapped release dates for Dune 2 and Aquaman 2.
It's Nolan's path, they nominated him (Memento/Arrival) then they snubbed A LOT (Batman,Inception/Dunes), but he made a glorious comeback (Oppenheimer/?)
@@crazydouglasb Yeah I actually think most filmmakers starts to stall creatively once they win the big yellow man - especially for actors - so maybe it gives us even more great films?

the way they snubbed Moana in Cinematic Achievement category and they still nominated it in Best Animated Picture... as for Dune 2 it wasn't submittedit for Cinematic Achievement category
I think we’ve suddenly got an embarrassment of riches with Oscar potentials. I agree with Oscar Expert that the six that show up in Drama should generally be copy/pasted into your best picture lineup but I’m going to wait on A Complete Unknown. I’m still not sold on The Substance even after this showing (It’s really good for it though if you like it!) We can’t ignore September 5 or Nickel Boys now - I actually think getting in picture with no other nominations showcases strength. Here’s what I think (Spoiler: I don’t think the Oscars are snubbing Sing Sing in picture… yet): 1. The Brutalist (lead actor, score, cinematography, Director likely) 2. Anora (lead actress, screenplay likely) 3. Conclave (adapted screenplay, editing potential wins) 4. Emilia Perez (foreign film winner and likely nomination leader) 5. A Real Pain (it has a shot at screenplay and supporting actor wins) 6. Wicked (supporting actress, techs) 7. Nickel Boys (cinematography, adapted screenplay, still unsure about Director) 8. September 5 (being praised for the editing and original screenplay is a weak category for it to get into which are big noms) 9. Dune 2 (I’m optimistic it won’t miss but mostly tech noms) 10. Sing sing (Colman seems to be in, hard to imagine it doesn’t also get adapted screenplay and machlin but we’ll see) 11. A complete unknown 12. The substance 13. Challengers
WTF is The Last Showgirl? Never heard of it tbh *searches it up* Oh Kiernan Shipka is in it. That's one reason for me to watch it other than its Golden Globe love

What's your problem? Why don't you get a life? You're annoying as hell!

Diabolical? Nah, that’s too kind a description
SEPTEMBER FIVE INSTEAD FFS?!?!?
Peak Denis and Dune reactions. This is why I'm here.

Saoirse Ronan’s best actress campaign being dead at golden globe noms is insane

Snubbing Denis is wild. Golden Globes, what are you smoking over there?
No more Film Drunk.

I hope she gets more nominations. She didn't get nominated for the Critics award already. 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
