Another woke woman with a fake apology
she wants to keep her job.
Nothing "woke" here. Joust some women, "clad in a little brief authority" on a power trip.
Who does that "inspector" think she is? Talk about government overreach. She should be fired and that ordinance removed.
I agree that those flags should be allowed and those who served respected at all times. But from this one sided story, you are being equally disrespectful. If that was the ordinance or law there, then it should be enforced at all times. I agree that it was a bad regulation. But she had a job to do. And I wouldn’t want any regulations selectively enforced. The veterans and the business can and did appeal to the local government to change that situation. In many places inspectors let some people get away with somethings because they know them or take bribes. That is wrong. I don’t know the entire story here. But if she was enforcing a regulation as part of her job, then she did the right thing. You have no idea how often inspectors get harassed for doing their jobs. Most regulations are in place to protect everyone or keep a thing like posting billboards and flying banners from becoming an eyesore or a safety issue. Just because you got your feelings hurt or angry, isn’t a reason to fire someone doing their job. If disagreeing with employees was grounds for their termination, no one would be employed. Please try to get both sides of a story before you go off half cocked.
@@martinknowsSo you believe in the old “I was just following orders defense” from an obvious DEI hire.
@@jamesbarnes9504 no I believe that people deserve to have both sides of the story told before being judged. And you have no idea what that woman goes through on a daily basis. I know and have known people in position inspecting building construction to food handling. They were constantly verbally abused and occasionally assaulted on the job. I see you believe in “slap them again when they turn the other cheek”. Is it fair for me to judge you as such? Do you appreciate people drawing conclusions about you based on one side of a story? And just out of curiosity, are you a Christian? I mean a true follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ? Because from this interaction, it sure doesn’t seem like it.
@@jamesbarnes9504 - WTF does this have to do with your new favorite right-wing boogeyman? The city inspector was right. The part about her saying the veteran's service didn't matter was a lie. In fact, this entire story is a lie told to paint the store as the victim.
File a misfesance in office.
As we should ALL stand with our veterans and flag!
Yeah!?
The Veteran even asked that the woman not be fired. The Veteran showed more CLASS and INTEGRITY.

The lesson here is: don't believe every bit of bullsh!t you hear just because it confirms your bias. The city inspector NEVER said the veteran's service didn't matter. The veteran himself admitted as much in an interview after the fact.
@@tomogden2432 While I see your point - most don't have time or care really to research things like this....
Give someone the slightest bit of authority and it goes straight to their empty heads. I'm glad to hear that people power prevailed over narcissistic power.

She is a city inspector, yet cannot even type three sentences correctly, in an OFFICIAL apology, says it all…..
Is it any surprise, she studied under Joe Biden.
And the flags were flown correctly, with Old Glory highest, front and centre, and the unit flags below, supporting on either side. As you can tell from my spelling, I'm not American, but in my own country, our national flag flies in the place of honour, too, as is only right and respectful.
As a proud Floridian they will have my biz as long as they are open!
Control freak...
Hey there 👋 Veterans deserve all respect!👍
Ooh rah it's still American 🇺🇸 to respect the flag that protects them... 😢
Hope the store sues the inspector. She sounds like a Karen. Definitely needs to be fired.

The people protecting her job is making decent people suffer unjust BS. "Flag inspector", how stupid is that in America!
Pride flag would have stayed
@@tomp8871 my theory is that’s what irked her in the first place. How can she not be aware of the vets flags when she mentioned that her father, husband, and son in law were all vets? People didn’t see that angle too huh. 🏳️🌈

Thank you Patriots for standing up for our Flags.
When a region is conquered the first thing they do is remove the previous regime's banner.
This should be a clue to everyone what hey actually think of you and your home.
When you’re supporting the veterans in your country a flag means a lot . They are reminded that going to war did matter and they did make a difference ! This is a peaceful reminder . It’s not like flying a flag that hates a certain group of people , that is just ugly and racist .👍❤
This happened quite a few years ago.
Story relevant since so many veterans on streets homeless they need more respect
@@lisavanoni6552 - the veteran in this story _wasn't_ disrespected. This video claims that the city inspector told the veteran his service to this country didn't matter, and that is a bald-faced lie. The veteran decided to insert himself into the situation uninvited, and the city inspector told him his opinion on the citation didn't matter. That's it.
I just wish people would stop swallowing every bit of bullsh!t they see on the Internet just because it confirms their bias.
If govt workers like this doesn’t give voters pause we have a serious problem
You have no idea what you're talking about. Read the story from the local news before you make another stupid comment.
Good story.
Guarantee nobody in her family served any branch of our awesome military!
unconstitutional. sue! 🍻
Inform yourself about the _real_ story, then come back and tell me what about this is "unconstitutional."
@tomogden2432 nah im a shit poster. just like you apparently. i could care less. 🍻
Rules should be followed even if they are ridiculous. If it was against city rules to display those flags then the inspector was right. If certain rules are ridiculous or unfair then change them but until they are just follow them. The inspector was not unprofessional & had nothing to apologise for.
HOW is this an inspectrs job? ROFL days only become more and more INSANE!
It's just one small part of her job. It's not just about flags, it's about any and all city code violations, that someone else drafted, not her.
I bet if the store owner put up a Alphabet flag, they wouldn't have said a word.
Its a first amendment right to fly any flag you want. Whether you agree or disagree doesn't matter.
While I don’t agree what she did why should she lose her job for following rules put in place by others , the people that wrote the rules should be the ones punished if anyone is .
Doesn’t look an apology to me; rather a “sorry not sorry”
weak leaders, government, officials, etc...vote wimpy...get wimpy...
Considering this went down in Florida in 2018 ... Remind me who was president back then?
I like the guy who doesn't hate on POW's and veterans.

Our Veterans all deserve the honor and respect for serving and protecting our country. The flags were displayed for that reason and should not have an ordinance against flags being flown for our Veterans.❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
She’s forcing her opinion….she forces mine
Melinda wrong righteous horrible
America and it's flags! Lol!
That's Jacksonville Florida. There's never been a ban on military flags. That was all the Karen's doing.
This is a classic case of can’t see the forest from the trees! Sad but true, this happens all the time because some people are micro management style. There is the LETTER of the Law, and then there is the SPIRIT of the Law. How you behave counts too!
You just know some ppl drop their drawers to air out their brains. This could be one…….
God bless America.
Don't tread on Me.

Does no one learn these anymore?
lady was just doing her job following a rule that is silly.
huge credit to the vets who resisted a public push to have her fired. i doubt any military person has ever served to create a world that cancels people for something like this. i have the utmost respect for them and how they handled it.
Comments like yours a few and far between.
She was just doing her job. She didn't create the city codes. If the video was about a city code inspector letting some businesses get away with some violations while making sure others stick by them, people would be hating her for showing favoritism.
Best comment by far!
Betcha if there was a Homo flag flying there, your opinion would be different to " the lady was just doing her Job". Her ass should be fired for making up rules as she goes along her daily routine.
Melinda, Keep on telling yourself that you are right and you will recover---or maybe you won't. I don't care either way. We stand WITH Veterans.
She only apologized because she was forced to in order to keep her cushy job. She is the perfect example of what happens when you give weak people a tiny bit of authority.
How and the hell are those flags a danger? The disrespect this inspector showed is shameful. She is not a professional in her job. With her bad attitude towards that veteran, especially since her dad was one is awful behaviour. She either needs retraining on how to approach people in her job or to get fired.
This is all gaslighting bullsh!t. The city inspector cited the store for violating the city's ordinance against excessive signage, not specifically for flying military flags, and she. Also, the city inspector NEVER said the veteran's service didn't matter. The veteran himself was interviewed for this story and admitted that the inspector said _his opinion on the citation_ "doesn’t really matter at this point," as she was present only to discuss city ordinances.
City employees with a little bit of power let it go to their heads. Inspectors, code enforcement officers, etc. There was one time they fined a poor old woman because they said her grass was over 2 inches too long. It wasn't like she had neglected her lawn, on the news she said her lawn guy had covid and was over a week behind catching up. Meanwhile the news crew drove around the same neighborhood and recorded three other properties with high grass and neglected yards but no warnings or fines given to them.
So help me out here. I’m Canadian. Why on earth would it not be allowed to fly your countries flag? What did I miss? Were the other flags specifically military, and that’s what she was going on about?
It's a female power trip thing. It's actually quite funny to witness.
She was just enforcing some stupid city code. Probably said something like "No flags other than U.S. flag and State flag may be flown".
@@donlarocque5157lol, she didn't write the city codes and then go out to enforce them. She was doing her job as inspector, not city code writer. Someone else wrote the codes and probably a long time ago. They probably just didn't put enough thought into the possibility of a situation like this.
She did that because they did not put a gay pride flag .
I’ll never understand what the problem is with flying flags. It’s so petty to want them removed.
Depends WHICH Flag And Where It's Flown!!
Support your veterans america.🙏🙏🙏😊
@1:48 Wow--read the inspector's social-media post.
Did she graduate high school? The spelling and grammar are atrocious.
I am pretty sure that she would not have said anything if it was a palestinian or a pride flag. Prove me wrong.
She’d be going around forcing businesses to fly those abominations.
It wasn't about the American flag. They had a bunch of flags. It was just made about the American flag. They should have just said they'd take all the other ones down. Also it was just her job. The mayor changed the part about flying flags and made that part of her job nonexistent after this incident. Nice try though.
Karen should have been made an example of.
She CLEARLY has a power trip and needs knocked back a few steps.
I would put my money on she hasn't learned a damn thing from it. 🤡
DON'T SCREW WITH OUR VETERANS!!!!
Fake apology fire her!
Should never be an effin conversation in the first place. WTF?
Someone is trying to trim our patriotism.
I would imagine that flying flags are like free speech? I think I know what flags the city doesn’t want anyone to fly. Sometimes censorship has unintended results.
That would violate freedom of speech and of expression. The city or in some cases the actual individual can be sued. If the government is not to blame but the person did something? They can be sued. So sue the guy in both his official capacity and his individual capacity. Take the dudes house and garnish his wages.
"The veteran didn't want melinda to lose her job..."
Well, the rest of us do and wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over it.
Activist bullies shouldn't be given positions of authority, especially where our flag and veterans are concerned. Fire her ass. If her supervisor was partially responsible, fire him as well.
This is from years ago. This is older than your Momma.
I would think selling flags would be a First Amendment right. That would be equivalent that if my neighbor flew a Nazi flag, I may not like it, but that would be their First Amendment right to do so.
Melinda just should not be fired. She should also be arrested in sentence to a short period in term for an attitude adjustment in America.!!!!!!!!🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🙏
OH WHATEVER, shes apologizing because she lost the argument and her foolishness went viral.
Lets not paint over the obvious and forgive her. She's guilty and should be FIRED
💩💩💩💩💩💩
I wonder if she would have done that if he was flying the rainbow Flags
DEI Inspector, what will DemoRats think of next
This was 6 f-ing years ago.. Nothing news in Didlyboing Idaho?
So many lives just gone, families destroyed, grief unforgiving due to w a r.
Yeah get you some more of that shitty governance
In my town the raising cane's has flags and no one says anything.
Right on!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😀👍!
I would tell her about how a folded flag was handed to my Friend Rogelios mom. A man who died right in front of me. How we were trying to get food to starving Somalians.
I could play her Johny Cash the old ragged flag. But she still wouldnt give a shit
Where did she get those instructions from that it was not right to fly the flags if they've been flying for years and for her give them a ticket without checking I think was very disrespectful. Maybe they should have been fired but a good suspension would have been good.
You know, Melinda could have looked at the classic display and decided pursuing a citation might not be the best course of action. But she chose to be a jerk.
She couldn't even be bothered to spell check her apology. What a mess that post is.
This is someone who gets to make legal decisions about what others are doing, but can't be bothered to take a few extra seconds to be polite enough to present a readable apology.
She even admits in the first sentence that she *reposted* this mess.
What a loser. Suspension without pay seems on the right track, but if I had the final say, she'd have been terminated for the way she handled the whole thing start to finish. Highly unprofessional and therefore, unemployable by me.
Her apology has fake empathy, too.
Yeah ima lose my shit too
How is that an ordinance?
That's some fucking un-American shit if I ever saw it.
this is more then 5 yrs old 2018
She would have said nothing if the flags had been Pride flags or Ukrainian flags. You can’t be merciful to these people or they will overstep every time.
did any one ask why and again nobody will ask why
What part of the video do we actually see the incident
Forget all about all the what kind of flag would be okay, right or left, nonsense. She said they broke a law. What law? Were there too many? Were they too tall? Is there even a law? If not, she should be fired. If there is, it should be changed because it's a stupid law.
If it was gay pride flags nothing would have been said

This is an old story.
I don't understand?
This is old news. Happened in 2018.
Old news..
What a strange ordinance. Does anyone know what the ordinance actually says and when it came became the law?
As for the inspector, being rude is not appropriate. If you are a public facing city official you have to have your game face on all the time. IMO: all she needed to do is say "Look I am just enforcing the ordinance. No different that police officer who pulls someone over for driving 10 mph over the speed limit, even if the road and traffic could handle 20 mph over the limit. Here is who you should talk to about get ordinance # changed. I am giving you a warning. And I have family members who served."
There's an older video that actually highlights the exchange and gets more into what was said. I imagine it sucks for people to complain about you just doing your job and you get sick of hearing it. She probably just hit a breaking point and it happened to be seriously unfortunate timing. I imagine city inspector is a thankless job and no one is particularly kind to her.
Has she tried to remove “Pride” flags or Palestinian flags ?
Just a babble channel. Shows absolutely nothing of confrontation and inject an ai opinion
