It is true that I did indeed discover that you can turn with the dmic during the Olga cutscene thus facing the direction you will need to move when you leave. I believe that it saves at least almost nearly one frame in total. Back in the day I would watch people speedrun Metal Gear Solid 2 and look on in horror as they entered the Shell 2 Core and would sit lifeless as they skipped the cutscene, over time, with direction and teaching from me eventually implementing that turn became standard. Your guide will ensure that future generations of Metal Gear Solid 2 runners can also save at least almost perhaps one frame. Thanks.

I just come to watch really. I watch just people play games or speedrun. There is another UA-camr I watch who does generally Resident Evil games(he does play other games, but I think he has explained how the algorithm on UA-cam sort of can some times pin you into a particular category), which is maybe why he goes to Twitch to play other things. However, I haven’t really watched regular TV or even any streaming services(like Hulu or Netflix) in years. Just generally nothing worth watching from those places. Generally watching UA-camrs play games. Some would wonder why not just play the games myself. Which I do from time to time, but at times just don’t have the ability to do so or just don’t feel like it. I only play when I feel like it. Great stuff just watching.

second question: i keep failing the door tengu skip what are the exact instructions, throw stun, back against door, let go, press R1 to FPV punch punch kick exit FPV? i seem to get through 40% an dfail 60% (on master collection if that matters)
Lean back against door then press R1 to FPV (don't let go of the lean against the door before entering FPV). PPK, let go mid-way through the K or thereabouts. If you have a Tengu near by it'll auto-aim to them causing you to PPK at an angle which will fail.
okay it was the not letting go mid way on the K that was ruining it get it 95% of the time now, times i got through before were just lucky about letting go on the K by mistake it seems haha @@dlimes13
How do you cancel the shot after aiming without weapon swap on PC. I am using DS4 and have tried super soft release but he will still shoot. When holding up enemies they will automatically go into alert if you unequip. Thanks.
I believe it's L3, but I have that function disabled on my end so I don't accidently do it in a run. Pressure sensitivity will not work on PC or a DS4.
I've got Big Boss rank thanks to your guide. I play MGS2 since my childhood but never at this pro level. I learned some tricks, this game never stops to surprise me. And not less important, you're a beast! Thanks to you and your dedication.
I have the HD collection for my Xbox360, I haven't played it yet but do you have any suggestions or videos for me to learn the buttons and controls better, as someone with memory issues plus the fact I don't play my console often I struggle to learn and remember controller stuff. And sadly I don't have the funds to pay for it all again on Steam or anything haha. Amazing video by the way, MGS2 is my all-time favorite metal gear game over any of the others. Anyone who thinks otherwise can bite me lmao
If you're using an Xbox controller and are used to a PlayStation controller like I am, I use what's called a GIMX adapter or Brook adapter so I can use my DualShock 4 on an Xbox. I can't stand Xbox controllers personally. If it's just learning the controls in general, just have to play with it and get used to it.
9:51 What is the purpose of lining up against the edge of the door right there during Olga? I ask because I'm planning to de-rust pretty soon and I recall Olga being a major pain in the ass on Extreme until you start getting warmed up better.
For Extreme/Euro Extreme, you want her to see you for a split second then lean (hide). This will ensure she doesn't do any weird movement (or less likely) as she continues to shoot you and hopefully empty her magazine. If you do not stand in this position, she is less likely to empty her magazine and the loop will fail. Alternatively, she could start to come out left and retreat back to the start, getting the cutscene instantly, which is very slow. If you're doing Extreme, you could let her shoot you there and you will not die. Euro Extreme it is a one shot kill, so be careful.
When you're using the restart area command via the trainer, is it acting like a save state where you can repeat an area over and over again without it affecting your end-game stats?
okay day 3 another question lol but does using the sword at the end against solidus count for the '700 shots' thing? i beta the rays and the game over screen on solidus says i've done about 640 shots just praying the sword doesnt add to that and its a gun only thing? surely they dont count sword swings?? lol thanks again for all the help so far! liked and subbed!
How do you pull off those i-frames during the Harrier fight? Whenever I do it it's like Raiden doesn't go back against the wall after firing. He fires to the right but then stays in that position and usually just fires again. I've tried practicing the timing but for some reason the way the wall goes down diagonally into the stairs it doesn't work correctly. Is there another way to dodge the missile barrage?
Watch my inputs. I let go of the fire button until Raiden is about to return to his original position. Continually firing or holding the fire button will not work. Additionally, if you are not on the corner like I am, you will slowly go down the stairs.
@@dlimes13 Yeah, I was looking at the controller. Would it help to hold maybe down-left instead of down so that there isn't a chance of sliding down the stairs? I just wish there was a way to practice that corner without the Harrier there.

43:20 hey im going for the big boss achievment in the master collection on steam, why does the PPK combo count as a kill ? as far as im aware it just knocks them out
@dlimes13 I'm using the ppk full on I'm just paranoid coz I had random unexplained kills in previous runs then I heard you saying something about count as a kill. Took me a full day to get past the tanker lol
Even a PPK wouldn't count as a kill. If you are choking him and break his neck then yes that counts. Unless it's something funky with Master Collection. That wouldn't surprise me.

Yup that's correct. One of a number of small differences between regular Extreme and Euro. On regular Ex I'd just get in front of the box instead.

No all the stats will carry-over. It's just resetting the room as if you left and came back in, but clearing any Alert/Evasion/Caution states as well.

Or use D-Pad instead of analog. But down left at that corner should ensure it.
Is it possible to do tengu one glitchless?
Absolutely. Just harder on the higher difficulties. Mostly just hiding in a corner towards the end of the room and using M9 + Coolant.

Realllllllyyyyyy struggling with the rays lol. I have watched your guide over and over again. I just can't seem to get the loop locked down
Just keep at it. Break it up into sections. Like get though the B's without issues, then focus on the C's, etc. Takes a lot of practice.

Are you punching him in the groin? It shouldn't be a kill if you knock him out and see stars above his head.
