In this video, we go through the FAB 5 of reading, which are the emergent skills reading teachers focus on when helping students reach comprehension. This video will help you study for the Praxis Reading Specialist (5301, 5302, 5304, 5306) and Praxis Teaching Reading (5203, 5204, 5305, 5306) exams. Watch the video until the end for an interactive word wall strategy you can use in your classroom.

Syntactic - I cue this with Sy.(system). Because it has to do with system of a language. System such as cogs and rods etc and they had to be put together carefully, not any random order, so whatever the whole they make (in this case, sentences.) could function.

The interactive word wall sounds amazing. One of my kids is nonspeaking and needs lots of movement. This is a great activity that he could participate in along with everyone else. So many lesson plans aren't made with him in mind. I'm planning to get an alternative teaching license and utilizing all of the great things I know about inclusion/ UDL to make a difference for our local kids.

Reading is universal, so it will provide some help. I am not familiar with the test you are referring to and would seek material specific to your exam just to be sure. Thanks for watching.
How many questions are actually counted on the Special Education 161-EC-12 Certification Test? There are 150 questions but all of those questions are not graded, how many are graded? I want to try and keep a count the next time that I take it to know if I’m on track. Thank you!

My reading coach tells me, "Flash the words, make the students look for these words in the gloassary." And then , I see this lecture. Thats my reading coach! Now, I'm just confused. Was she deliberately coaching ms the wrong stuff, or is she just plainly-,---?
Everyone has different approaches to teaching vocabulary. However, simply looking up words in a glossary is not as effective and using the words in context. Here is a helpful video on how to use word walls. ua-cam.com/video/GMwtQU2_4mg/v-deo.html
