Thank you!!! I studied my butt off and failed the test. I watched this webinar twice and PASSED!!! Thank you!!!
That’s amazing! I’m so glad you found it helpful. Congrats on passing your test!
The 5205 was BRUTAL compared to the others I have taken.
Please help me...I took in back in May and failed by 8 points! I need to pass this test to keep my job

Im on the same boat failed by 6 points but 2 teachers told me she is really good and scored high. SO@@aliciadavage6633
For those of you who read these comments, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND KATHLEEN JASPER'S BOOK!! The book combined with her UA-cam videos has been an incredible help!! I was going to hire a private tutor but it is unnecessary and so expensive!!! I love how Kathleen Jasper reads the people's questions and answers them. ❤❤❤❤ Thank you, K.J.
Wow! Thank you so much. I’m thrilled you found the book helpful. 😊
This was so helpful! I passed praxis 5205 with flying colors! 🎉Your study guide and these videos were instrumental for my success. Thank you!
That's fantastic news! Keep up the great work and wishing you continued success in your future endeavors!

Thank you Kathleen! You are such a natural at explaining all of this. I studied for the 7811 using your 7811 manual then found out my state was changing testing requirements to the 5205. I had just a day and a half to study. Your 7811 study guide was very helpful as well as all your videos. I took the test Sunday and am waiting to hear back.
A few things:
- taking the free practice test helped me realize I needed to hustle through the multiple choice questions so I would have enough time for the written response questions at the end
- my test had a difficult time getting going (tech wise) but the proctor kept at it and got my test started. I'm also embarrassed to say it was hard to find the start button! I felt blind because it wasn't super obvious on the site they send you to
- My test gave me a pink error screen and shut down about 5 questions in which made me a little nervous but my proctor was again able to get it up and running with no additional difficulties
- I recommend NOT spending very much time on the text heavy questions, making a quick best guess and marking them for review later
- there were maybe 10 questions that had to do with ELL learners, so I would definitely look into best practices for supporting them in your class
- I was nervous about the written response questions but they were honestly a great way for me to write what I DO know. The test suggests giving yourself 10 minutes each for the three questions. I needed more time than that. Your study guide gave me great ideas for interventions. Thank you!
- I marked about 15 m/c questions that I needed to review. After I finished the written response questions, I started going back through those questions. I only had time to review about five of those questions and for each one of them, I was able to see a little more clearly what they were asking/what the answer should be. I changed all five and ran out of time before checking the ten other questions.
Thank you for your kind words and detailed feedback! We're delighted to hear that our materials were helpful for your exam preparation. It sounds like you handled the challenges during the test admirably, and your strategies for managing time and prioritizing questions are valuable insights for others preparing for similar exams. We wish you the best of luck with your results!

Good news, just got my scores and I passed with flying colors! Thank you again so much for your help
ahhh this is a life saver! I've got my 5202 at the end of this month and its my first praxis exam! A lot of this information is familiar to me since I'm taking education classes in college right now, but this is very helpful to a lot of my worries. I didn't think about reading the questions backwards and have found that it is really helping me identify answers that may not work! This is beautiful, thank you!
So glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much! I am a foreigner here but, I was able to pass this test because of your videos! :) May the Lord bless you and your family.
Glad you’re here! Thanks for watching 😊
You are simply the best. Better than anyone, anyone I ever met 😅😅😅❤
Thank you so much :)
Thanks for sharing your knowledge unselfishly. You are the BEST!!!
It's my pleasure :)
I am very thankful for this information. I always tell to my students to 'think of things that make sense and that they can understand.'
Exactly!
I have taken a total of FIVE praxis exams (5903, 5904, 5905, 5205, and 5354) and the 5205 was by far the hardest and most difficult. Thankfully I passed on my first attempt!
Yes, the 5205 is very difficult. There are so many nuances to the test. Well done on passing your exam.
The video with the baby who wrote his brother a "Srtifuckit" was using phonetic spelling really well. Thank you for this video. It explained things really well.
I’ve seen that video too. It’s so funny. It’s also a great example of phonetic spelling.
Wow thanks for your video. I’m from Texas and your content is so valuable and insightful. especially for me as an out of the country educator candidate..just purchased your teaching reading book.Blessings and please stay safe.❤❤❤
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.

I bought the online resource and printed it so I can physically visually track and highlight and make notes for myself. I printed the ETS document as well. I do like the book's tracking and organization as well as the two practice tests. I do wish we had a few extra discussion question examples. I think this is a wonderful resource and I'm grateful!!
I'm using this with two full study days left but I previewed some as I put my workbook together last night. I am hopeful to pass with use of the high-quality guide.
It sounds like you're taking a well-organized approach to your preparation by tracking, highlighting, and making notes. Remember to continue your diligent preparation and use the remaining study days wisely. Best of luck with your exam!

I recently took the PLT for Elementary Education and really struggled with studying. I felt that I did not have good resources. I mainly used Quizlet and it was difficult to fully understand the content because I did not really fully grasp anything if that makes sense. Since it is just flash cards. Still waiting on my PLT scores, but currently am scheduled to take Teaching Reading in a few weeks. Im student teaching right now so I have had a hard time with studying. I was talking with some of my college friends and they recommended your videos! I have been watching your videos for about 3 hours now and WOW! I feel like I actually understand what I need to focus on. Hoping to pass!!!! Fingers crossed lol.
I'm glad to hear that you've found my videos helpful for your preparation, and I hope they continue to assist you in your upcoming Teaching Reading exam. It's common to encounter challenges while studying, and using various resources can make a big difference. Stay positive and keep up the good work. Best of luck with your PLT scores and the Teaching Reading exam - you've got this! 🤞📚✨

amazing!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you. I am going to have to take this soon and many teachers have told me that they had to take this test multiple times.
Lots of people have to take these exams more than once. But you can do it. I have lots of videos on all different Praxis exams.
If you study and give yourself plenty of time to learn the content you should be just fine. I passed on my first attempt and am thankful I did. I couldn’t imagine having to take this test again 🤣
@@DapperDan1983 Well that's kind of mean for the ones who didn't pass the first time smh
@@aliciadavage6633 what about my comment was mean? I fail to understand how saying I am thankful I don’t have to take it again is “being mean.” Study, study, STUDY and learn the content and you will pass. The constructed response questions also test your knowledge of how to apply strategies to reading interventions as well as data interpretation. These constructed response questions account for 25% of your total score so making sure you can collect your thoughts, recall information, and apply it to a real-world situation will determine how you do.
Would you be able to do a separate video for all 4 subject exam? I am a foreign and I am having difficulty passing the exam. Thank you

Hi Kathleen do you recommend the practice exam through praxis? I have severe test anxiety and have failed one test 16 times. Tomorrow will be my first time taking the reading 5205 exam and I am nervous. I have taken the online praxis practice exam and the most I got right was 40 out of 90 ugh. I have been watching your videos and I feel more confident. Any tips or tricks to help calm my nerves?
Here are a few tips to help calm your nerves and boost your confidence:
Deep Breathing: Practice deep breathing exercises to help reduce anxiety. Inhale slowly for a count of four, hold for four, and then exhale for four. Repeat this several times until you feel calmer.
Positive Visualization: Visualize yourself successfully completing the exam. Imagine the process going smoothly and feeling confident in your answers.
Good Night's Sleep: Ensure you get a good night's sleep before the exam. Being well-rested can significantly improve your concentration and performance.
Healthy Breakfast: Eat a healthy breakfast on the day of the exam. Avoid heavy or sugary foods that could cause an energy crash.
Manage Your Time: During the exam, keep an eye on the time, but don't panic. If you get stuck on a question, move on and come back to it later if you have time.
Stay Positive: Remind yourself of your preparation and the effort you've put in. Trust your knowledge and the work you've done leading up to this point.
Practice Under Test Conditions: If you have time today, take another practice test under timed conditions to simulate the real exam environment.
Remember, it's normal to feel nervous, but you've prepared for this. Trust in your abilities, and try to stay as calm as possible. Good luck, you’ve got this!

I’m on a FB group for people that are taking praxis exams especially 5205 . & it seems as if it’s impossible to get over a 13/18 for the CR portion which is a 71%.
Should we write paragraphs?? Like what exactly do they want ..
Everything that is required is outlined in the rubric for grading. You will probably never get a perfect score on the writing. I mean, I guess it's possible, but very rare. What they want you to do is:
- Clearly and specifically answer all parts of the question in a way that directly addresses the instruction situation described.
- Show strong knowledge of concepts, theories, facts, procedures, or methodologies relevant to the question. Any errors or facts or terminology are minor and do not detract from the understanding shown.
- Provide a strong explanation that is well supported by evidence.
Paragraphs help. I use them when I explain how to approach the writing. They help to keep the writing organized.
I just did a video on the 5205 writing. You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/1LBbIIEt-s4/v-deo.html
Hope that helps and have a great day.
Do the Praxix Reading webinars help us pass the Pearsons OAE 091 Foundations of Reading exam???
Yes, it will. The tests are very similar. Thanks for watching!
I would like to know a book that would help me passing K-6 subject exams?
