I've been trying to find this song and video for over 15 years. Never knew its name but it has this unforgettable beat to its own!! First time I danced to it was in L'Antro, in Caracas, back in the late 80's. Funny enough, I came across it thanks to Strangers Things 2, my teenage kids' recommendation!! 😳 It was hard to finnally learn the name of this song. I had to go to the series soundtrack list and sort it out scene by scene. Amazing what mainstream culture and technology can do to nostalgia!! Enjoy!!👍🏻
Go! Living it up. It's a big kick It's good for you Watch the big freeze slip Crack the jackpot, get out of control If you put yourself down You'll never win, get out of that hole Keep your mind open, your head up You'll never, ever get old Go! Your whole world could change If only you just broke through through the fears inside your head 'Cause your fears are doing Nothing for you Keep your head up, your mind open You'll always come through 'Cause living it up, it's a big deal It's good for you Swap your dull gray thoughts For fierce demands you can stand up to Don't put yourself down, you'll never win So let's all smash through Through the fear of being real Through the fear of being really you 'Cause living it up, it's a big deal It's good for you
Valeu !
Well Intended, Perfect Edit for This Song, I wish we had some Live Video of "All us 80's Heads" Dancing to it in the 80's, High Energy NuWave Steps, AND... just about still can manage it now, but Look like a Fool..LOL....but Nobody will Ever Understand Unless you were There...! What an Exquisite Era Babee...!!
This is totally making me smile. This is one of my all time fave songs (baddest ass bassline evah!). First time I've seen this vid. So tastefully done - and just in time for Halloween. Yay!
superstarpally The video was ripped directly from a VHS tape that was edited back in 1986 that I found in the archives of Berlin Nightclub in Chicago, hence the sound quality. It's a slightly different speed than the CD version, so I wasn't able to sync it up properly with better audio. The video edit was apparently a patron favorite back in the day.
P.s., I am a choreographer & also play some bass (& write & sing). So this vid tix all the right boxes. GO! Has always been one of my fave sobgs. Big Love and Rockets fan here :) I used " Love Me" for one of my recent neoclassical ballet pieces.
Tones on Tail, bauhaus, Peter Murphy , para mi todos intocables, como los pario la misma madre, como a the jazz butcher y bueno no olvidemos a love and rockets
I remember hearing/seeing this at the punk & new wave clubs in Chicago in the 80's. Always loved this song-It would get me (and everyone else) out on the dance floor everytime. I don't remember if it was at Berlin or Exit-I think Exit...Even though they are synced well, there is such a disconnect between the images and the sound for me...
someone please tell me they remember this song on a commercial back in like the late 90s or early 2000s about starburst or capri sun or some kind of childrens snack
I started hanging out at Berlin back in the very early 80s. It was on the Belmont stop and I'd take the L (train or metro to others) from Lawrence . I lived in Uptown at the time. It was the red line I remember. I'd just graduated from college so I'd meet my old university pals there. Back then it was just a narrow strip of a bar. Mostly straight back then. Though it was at ground 0 of Boys Town. At that time it was one of Chicago's first video bars. Not everyone had MTV. Not me. Yeah I tossed back many a drinks there. Would take my gfs there, my buddies, my dates, my whatever. O Berlin you were a great place.
They used to play this at the very end of MTV Latino (90s) when they were showing the credits. Show was then hosted by Daisy Fuentes. Anyone remember all that?
I was LUCKY to have this on Vinyl in Junior High School. Recently, My kid made me watch Stranger Things- talk about a road map to my Teens! Same exact age as these kids- and the MUSIC is absolutely Timeless, and Familiar. Seriously, it was brilliant to use the music they did. It sparked my interest to watch every season, making a great Common Interest to inner-act with the kids. My taste in music, got them hooked 😊
1986 - this song is awesome!
2020 - this song is awesome!
100%
2021 - shut the fuck up!
This came out in 1984
When I'm dead: This song kicks ass
2022 - this song is awesome!
This has been called the quintessential 80s song. I love it.
Post Pandemic and we are still alive listening to this freaking JEM of a song!
this morning during instrument time in my pre-k classroom, i played this song. we were rockin OUT!
Stephen Velez ughhh i wish u were my prek teacher
if you had been in my class today, you could have rocked out to this song this very afternoon:-). but i was sending you good go! vibes, vanessa!
I know I'm about 2 years late, but dude. You sound like the greatest pre-k teacher in the world.
We do have fun...all glory to my kids. They make look good!
Yeah!
They used to play this video at Danceteria at 1st Avenue in the 80's. Always a favorite.

This is one of the most brilliant video edits I've ever seen for a song!! This is what I wish to see on MTV!!!
Memories of watching MTV Internacional in the late 80s and early 90s
This song has enough of what the world needs more of. More cowbell.
Looks like you got what you wished for,....
Charles Burnham you can’t ever have too much cowbell
hahahaha
Agogo bells ...one cowbell
Clearly the SECOND greatest cowbell song of all time.
Animation from the first Silly Symphony, The Skeleton Dance, 1929, produced and directed by Walt Disney and animated by Ub Iwerks.
Love this! 😍😎 47 and still dancing!
Still love this song after all these years! ❤❤❤😊
I absolutely love the editing on this video! Perfect for this song!
First Avenue used to play this during Danceteria in the 80s. Great memories.
Go!
Living it up. It's a big kick
It's good for you
Watch the big freeze slip
Crack the jackpot, get out of control
If you put yourself down
You'll never win, get out of that hole
Keep your mind open, your head up
You'll never, ever get old
Go!
Your whole world could change
If only you just broke through
through the fears inside your head
'Cause your fears are doing
Nothing for you
Keep your head up, your mind open
You'll always come through
'Cause living it up, it's a big deal
It's good for you
Swap your dull gray thoughts
For fierce demands you can stand up to
Don't put yourself down, you'll never win
So let's all smash through
Through the fear of being real
Through the fear of being really you
'Cause living it up, it's a big deal
It's good for you
Lyrical everything a human needs to here
Awesome 😎
Wow thank you for posting : we just danced to it. Who knew this song was so deep and so right…and so me. Thank you!!
Heck yeah, one of the best motivational songs ever ♥

I spent a lot of time in Berlin, and this video was fantastic. It is so good to see it after all these years.
I never went to Berlin, I did go to Medusa’s
One of the all time classics. Immediately takes me to Berlin
Yes yes yes
Domingueira na woodstock! 1986! Época áurea do punk rock, rock nacional! Sonzeira!

THOSE were the BRILLIANT 80s
I, too, played this for some pre-K students in the morning, while they were snorting coke. That shit got unreal!
Peter hired me at Berlin in 1988. Must have played this video 40 times or more while working there. Brilliant.
I just found this. Watching literally puts me right back IN Berlin.

. . . but I agree with Chico's comment below- the sound quality is substandard ;-(

Me transportou para as noites no Woodstock , em São Paulo , anos 80 . Alguém mais esteve por lá ?
hace tiempo me había topado con el tema sin conocer a la banda y los perdí, hoy por fin los encuentro
Berlin? Nice. I used to go there in the early 90s. Got a bit old for Medusa's. 😎
