I'm 73, was a recording engineer for 2 decades, and really like the Mongolian hard rock. I discovered Hu Band several years ago. I will have to add some of this to my collection.
It’s not just the language, you, silly. It’s the ancient art of Mongolian throat singing applied to the music style that was BEGGING for it for decades. I am so happy to see it finally happening. Was waiting forever!
Throat singing was a complete wake up call for me! I've been on a hunt for it for about a year now. All of the differences are just incredible. My favorite right now is a badas$ woman from a tiny island off the coast of Scotland I believe. Her name is Eivør

Their videos are like mini-movies. So I did a google search, wrote down some names to listen to. I wanted a good mix of the types because they all truly sound different. The lady I mentioned in a different post here I did not know about until a few years ago. I recommend reading the translation first and the watch the live performance with the danish orchestra the lighting is part of the performance!

I always like to discover legendary music before they go mainstream,while I dont understand a single word of lyrics the energy they give out gives the vibes of summoning a storm,an absolute banger!
That's how I got into The Hu. I attended their early concerts in small venues. I even snagged a snare drum head with all their autographs for a pittance. Probably worth something now, but I wouldn't sell it. It's valuable to me.
It's been rockin for a long time. You used to pretty much just have Altan Urag and Tengger Cavalry, but back then Tengger Cavalry's recording quality was soooo bad. There were some other bands, but they also had really bad sound quality. A band like this wouldn't have been noticed by labels back then and would be doing home recording like all those other guys. I was really surprised several years ago to hear the Hu on my local radio station. I know it's a lol a big commercial racket at this point, but it's good to know that people are now getting to hear and appreciate the kind of stuff I used to listen to back in the day.

I had known Mongol metal with a concert by The Hu, and UA-cam recommended me that band after discovering The Hu, and no way, Mongol is a great tongue for metal, another banger, and another band I had to discover!

To strange, just found this video and was thinking if everyone listened to Metal/Hard Rock the world would be a much better place. I am from the US and my 3 favorite bands are from Mexico (The Warning), India (Girish and the Chronicles) and Germany (Primal Fear). Great music is universal and brings everyone together.

I didn't understand a word, but didn't need to!!! There's so much to look at while your feet and body are all moving in time with the beat..riding horses must be part of it..what a picturesque work out!! Obviously there was more metal bands from Mongolia before. They just couldnt get attention world wide. If you interested try search for "Altan Urag" which is my favorite band. Also Nine Treasure, Tengry cavalry good.

You mean the morin khuur (AKA horsehead fiddle). It's a traditional Mongolian instrument. I've seen musicians do amazing things with it.
I didn't understand a word, but didn't need to!!! There's so much to look at while your feet and body are all moving in time with the beat..riding horses must be part of it..what a picturesque work out!!
The costumes and instruments are all so stunning and different to take it all in, needs to be viewed a lot to see everything.

Obviously there was more metal bands from Mongolia before. They just couldnt get attention world wide. If you interested try search for "Altan Urag" which is my favorite band. Also Nine Treasure, Tengry cavalry good.
