It's a carefree ride, no pressure to do tricks you mastered 20 years ago. I have other boards for that. A penny is something you, I travel with, and if you go to a park with it. Alot of fun.
Penny boards are cool. I'm more of a Surfskate guy myself, but I've learned the secret to having fun with any skateboard is to learn to enjoy riding it the way it wants to be ridden! Mini cruisers are so fun. If you want to experience something so awesome, throw some 85mm or 90mm wheels on a penny board and some riser pads so they don't wheel bite. Yes it will add some weight and a little height, but it transforms it to an insane fun ride and rolls SO much better after you get used to it to switch it up. You really need 2 Penny boards. One stock and one with huge wheeels. Both are crazy fun. I'm personally prefer wood decks and not a fan of plastic boards, and a like a little wider 7.5" -8" deck so I'm building up a Cal 7 22" Rocket for my mini setup. I'm narrowing the 4.5" wide hangers down to 4", putting a Yow Meraki Surfskate on the front with the 4" hangers, and running 90mm wheels. These little 22" boards are so much fun to mess around with and mod.
Just seeing your comment now, but this is totally sweet to hear! I’ve personally never added risers/bigger wheels to any of my Penny boards, but I can imagine it’d be a crazy experience!

I bought one cause I want to just travel, but we live in the crowded city so lots of people. On the other hand LOTS of mountains and steep hills, long downward curved roads. So it's the worst of both. Lots of people, too much for the long board and lots of downward and steep areas for the penny board. Lastly old time roads. Meaning cube rock hand placed walk ways that's bad for skating. It's a challenge and I don't want to either occupy the car road or the bike roads. Bikes have it busy enough and cars would most likely get into bad situations. Though just the other day I met a longboard skater doing exactly that, and upwards with his friend on a bike. That was insane to me. Might try longboard later after I learn to use the penny board enough.
Smaller boards are less stable but are easily to maneuver. It is not weird because to turn your board across the same angle, you have to move your front foot across a longer curve on a big board than you do on a small board. But another way to think about it is that, on a small board, even if you move your front foot a little, your board turns a big angle, and that is danger-prone

Lolz I own quite a few! I'd say if you find joy in each board and have a purpose to ride them, then it's not "stupid." For example, for me, having a Penny longboard is dope when going down hills and longer cruising sessions. The Penny surfskate is a "fun with friends" kind of board I like to use. The 27-inch is fun for me to ride around my neighborhood. The 32-inch is the best when I want to try doing an actual skate trick. Then I bring knock-off penny boards when I travel abroad in case I get it lost or stolen.
Regarding the last point, how big of a difference is there between the 22 and 27 inch balance wise? I’ve never skated before and want to try. I really like the way the 22 inch ones look and would prefer one of those, but I’m a bit of a nervous Nellie and can’t ride a bike, so I can’t balance for shit apparently (never learned as a kid and bought one a few years ago and then sold it after attempting to ride it about four times). Is the difference super noticeable? I’m only 5’4” if that matters at all lol. Never mind, just found your video comparing the two and it was really helpful. Gonna go with the 22 for the portability and my little feet. 👍
It is a Penny Longboard! It’s 36-inches, with a plastic waffle-cone deck (similar to the Penny) from Penny Skateboards. Ive made a few videos video with it on my channel if you care to see more of it
Hey Felipe, you’d likely want to get a longer board if you’re primary goal is to go 20+ MPH. Penny boards are meant for cruising, and this typically means 5-15mph for the most part
I don’t have a ton of riding experience but I used to occasionally longboard like five years ago. It was too much for me because of how massive it was and I could really get myself around with it well without tiring myself out. I’m only 5’2 (with some damn short legs) and weigh about 115 pounds. I want to use a board for mainly cruising and occasionally getting around, but where I live is also pretty hilly. So would you recommend a penny board or a nickel board?
Typically if one doesn't have a ton of riding experience, I'd generally recommend the Nickel as larger surface area and slightly longer distanced trucks makes it a bit more stable and overall easier to ride compared to the Penny. The Penny is slightly faster than the Nickel as well so if you have hills, the Nickel might be a better option for that too
@@atomgroup3179 I mostly just cruise around! I used to do freestyle tricks on my traditional skateboard, but over time I've shifted to more cruising and general riding/exploring on penny boards and longboards
They don’t, which is why they aren’t made with them. If you want to try and learn tricks on a board though, I’d recommend getting a different board that does as Penny boards are typically meant for cruising/commuting
They are horrible. If other skateboards are bycicles this would be a monocycle. It's compact, you can take it everywhere with you, but why would you?! It's not stable, nor recyclable nor biodegradable, you can hardly even roll over bump comfortably with it. It's everything that skateboard shouldn't be. It's mostly cheap plastic trash that rolls.

Glad to hear! I hope it works well for you and you have a blast🤘🏼
hi. in clip 2:05 is that a penny long board?
It is a Penny Longboard! It’s 36-inches, with a plastic waffle-cone deck (similar to the Penny) from Penny Skateboards.
Ive made a few videos video with it on my channel if you care to see more of it
@@TheTylerRossmann definately will do!! thanks! i'm thinking about buying it
Penny boards are amazing training
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Learn on a penny and longboards feel like couches
Lolz Ive never heard that expression!
How fast can you comfortably ride? Once i get to about 20 mph I’m getting the speed wobbles
Hey Felipe, you’d likely want to get a longer board if you’re primary goal is to go 20+ MPH. Penny boards are meant for cruising, and this typically means 5-15mph for the most part
if you REALLY want to go fast on a penny board, i suggest you at least tighten your trucks
The Penny is slightly faster than the Nickel as well so if you have hills, the Nickel might be a better option for that too
Bought a cheap one so when my electric longboard dies I can skate back instead walk lol.
Nice 👍🏼
I had previous experience, but I really wish I had gotten the nickel instead of the penny... but then I'd be wishing I had both haha
Who knows! Maybe this could be the start of your new collection 😎
i find penny boards easier to do tricks on than a traditional one
Interesting! You're the first person I've known to say that
Wow! Are you a freestyle skater?
@@atomgroup3179 I mostly just cruise around! I used to do freestyle tricks on my traditional skateboard, but over time I've shifted to more cruising and general riding/exploring on penny boards and longboards
A month ago i did get a great pennyboard for a cheap price.
I'm encouraging you to check it out.
The name of the board is Choke Spicy Sabrina
I will look it up!
I’m getting a long board but my cousins gave me a penny board and it’s fun. But I’m still getting a long Bword.
Nice! Longboards are sweet, and now you’ll have two boards to travel/play around with!
in australia we just call them pennies (at least i do)
Noiiiiice 🤙🏼
So i wsna say i go down hills whot penny board like i dont get hurt
Yooo when will you post a new video??
Yooooo I’ve been away for a bit for personal reasons, but I plan to return next week!
Just pick them all up choose one with you
if you have the money then for sure!
Great video. i love penny
Appreciate it! I love Penny too 🤙🏼
do penny boards need grip tape or no?
They don’t, which is why they aren’t made with them. If you want to try and learn tricks on a board though, I’d recommend getting a different board that does as Penny boards are typically meant for cruising/commuting
Commute
You definitely can commute with them; I’d recommend the 27-inch Nickel board or the 32-inch Skateboard before the 22-inch though
Hey thanks for mansplaining a penny board, we had no idea what they were used for. This whole time I thought it was for moving pianos
If you listened to what I said, I started with “for those that don’t know…”
I’m glad to know you knew though.
Anyways, have fun riding 🤙🏼
I love mine
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Who wants penny board for only $25 ? I am selling i have 6 not used, new
Eu
@@fabianobarros3505 what means eu😂
@@markosmkrtchyan4282 I think Fabiano is wondering if you're selling it within Europe 😊
MEE
do you sell in belgium? (in europe)
they're called Banana Boards and no you don't get one unless your goal is to make LollerBladers look butch.
Yoooo where are you from?! I’ve never heard of a “Banana board” or a “LollerBlader!”
@@pennyboardtyler how do you not know of Banana boards, they're from the 70's and as for the Rollerbladers...
penny board are petty unstable. they are not for beginners. bigger boards for sure for me.
I agree; that’s why I mention if you don’t have previous riding experience, a 27-inch nickel board or any other longer type board would be great 👍🏼
Who are they for? Hipsters are who they're for, well in Australia anyway.
Lolz I live in Connecticut in the US
No, buy a real skateboard
Go for it 👍🏼
@@pennyboardtyler already have one, you ride a toddler’s mini board 🫠😂
Yay plastic! Buy wood, kids.
🪵🪵🪵
They are horrible.
If other skateboards are bycicles this would be a monocycle. It's compact, you can take it everywhere with you, but why would you?!
It's not stable, nor recyclable nor biodegradable, you can hardly even roll over bump comfortably with it. It's everything that skateboard shouldn't be. It's mostly cheap plastic trash that rolls.
Depends if you buy knock-off or an on-brand pennyboard
Just seeing your comment now.
I understand you don’t like them, which is perfectly fine. A lot of other people do enjoy them however.
Ride whatever you like to ride, and have fun 🤙🏼
Pennyboards are useless
Thanks for your comment 👍🏼
