    You’re an absolute legend sir. Worked like a charm for me. If anyone’s having any trouble with this, use the hand clamp it made life sooo much easier

    I had the same issue coming home from work the shifter went out. Luckily I was still in drive and made it home. Then went to Utube and saw your video and fix the problem the following morning. 👍🏾

      That's awesome Richard! This is exactly the reason I started making videos. I've used UA-cam many times myself. Good job on your repair!

    Damn, just had my 2005 F150 towed to the mechanic shop. They're not open yet, but ill call them when they do. I'll find out the cost, may do it myself now since I saw your vid! As well, need a brake job, might get a price on them doing that as well - thanks for the vid!

    Thanks a lot, sir. Was about to take mine to the dealership until I saw this video. Exactly what it was. 10$ and 10 minutes, and I was good to go. Dealership would have charged me probably 500$ BSing around.

    May God continue to Bless you in all of your endeavors! This was more than refreshing to see a video that represents the same issue I face. The way of the world now in Auto Repair Mechanic shops not being trustworthy, looking to capitalize in a cash grab opportunity taking advantage of those clueless to the malfunctions of automobiles. This is what God intended for his children to experience in the world. Community in genuinely helping others. Knowing for certain you posted this video for purpose of truly aiding someone with no idea, giving them resolution in a matter that they can fix themselves! You have fulfilled this portion of your purpose and I pray you continue to be favored.

      I found it at my local AutoZone. I'd do a Google search using that part number and see if you find it local if you haven't already.

    Hey I have a 2006 Ford F-150, my gear shifts okay but when I try to go from drive to reverse it starts to rev the engine, so I have to put it in park and then I can start to reverse fine without it revving the engine. Hopefully this is the solution but does anyone know the problem?

    • @junkyyarddawg
      @junkyyarddawg  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure, but if you have excess play or movement in your shifter, it can cause it to not fully engage.

    Hey benny i need help i have a 2004 f150 stuck in home depot parking shifts but doesnt move

    • @junkyyarddawg
      @junkyyarddawg  2 роки тому

      If the shifter is moving but it's not going in gear, could either be the top side in the console or bottom side at the transmission.

    • @junkyyarddawg
      @junkyyarddawg  2 роки тому

      Are you in Shreveport? Sorry I saw this so late. You might need to look under your truck to see if the shifter cable is attached to the transmission shift lever. If it's attached then it's up in the console if you have one. The plastic grommet is most likely broken.

    • @junkyyarddawg
      @junkyyarddawg  8 місяців тому +1

      Hello. Sorry about that. There's really no tools required. You pull up on the cover for the shifter on the console. The cable end and bushing is popped off and on, almost like a hip and socked. Once the bushing is pressed on the cable end and installed on the socket, simply press on the console/shifter cover.
