The moral of this story is if anybody calls and asks you to go check on someone don't do it, because if something horrific has happened police will arrest you first and ask questions later. This guy didn't just randomly walk in and find her, he was called and asked specifically to go.
This guy's arrogance in court, his "I can sell ice to the Eskimos" attitude, suggests narcissism, especially when added to the overall theme that "the world owes me a living." I hope that the lady shrink can study public speaking before doing more appearances. She was hard to watch, despite good info. Detective was also passionate, but able to make easy connection with viewers. Learnable skills. RIP dear Catherine.
New Scotland Yard Files is an excellent series. My only cavil is the participation Dr. Donna Youngs. I find her exaggerated head and mouth movements truly irksome, though others might not object. Much more to the point, her comments add nothing but useless speculation about perpetrators' states of mind; apparently she interviewed not a single one of them so she has nothing but guesswork to contribute.
Yes it was top notch detective work but where did they get this absurd, histrionic lady psychologist, it was almost painful to watch her ridiculous facial expressions and mannerisms as she explained what everyone already knew.
1st off I agree that Scottlen yard exudes with excellence however if they're going to be top dog in the crime fighting & forensics as a whole. Then solving the original serial killer from the 1800s😮
Narrator’s voice was irritating; w/ a cigarette-tar coated throat. 🤮 Hey Journalist, a 28 year old woman is NOT a “girl.” Otherwise, excellent video, w/ respect for this poor, precious, innocent victim!
I'm American and I love this British show. Thank you for posting it 💘
Top notch detective work and always respectful to victims

and the reason given was he was coming across as "too helpful". So other moral of the story - dont be helpful
probably the most bent police force in Western Europe… Scotland Yard my Hole!
@@worldbuildermatt Insane isn't it.
Convicted offender was a scary man. Commiserations to the victims family and friends.
RIP Princess. RIP Mum. Some Justice Served. Barbarian at work. A coward. Bottom Crawler.

He is detective not an actor. Lol
She's not new to this, she's been on other series as well. She has a different style, it's grown on me, I like her.
A great series, 26 years is pathetic. Please get rid of that Dr Youngs woman, she rambles on and adds nothing.

26 yes is a joke !
That's a minimum sentence... he won't get parole after 26years necessarily.

what a stupid rip
Before the concept of clues was incorporated they would beat a suspect into confessing
A country covered in cameras. Everywhere but in the courts?
This was 2008

A decent series, but I dislike Dr. Youngs.
why is that?
I dislike old doctors.
They had showers in the reception area ? What kind of professional was she ?
It never said it was for her. There were other businesses in the building.
I've worked in many office blocks with 🚿 .
I know what you're insinuating. Think about it.. A brothel with an open entrance and no cctv? No chance clown
Guess a lot of people use the gym before work?
What are you actually suggesting here?
