Powertec is lucky to have such a quality guy repping their stuff. You have a passion for their equipment that is exciting to see. Take note Powertec. HGHR is a real one. Great spotlight on some solid deals!
Great vid as usual and I really like that lat pull down and low row machine. Just bought a house and am thinking about setting up in the basement. However, with 7.5ft ceilings I'm a little hesitant. Do you think a limited ceiling height would significantly reduce the equipment I could use?
@@DerickCross34 thanks so much! Not at all. Powertec’s Levergym, Lat Pulldown, Power Rack (without the pull-up extenders), and Multisystem are all under 7.5’
I know you struggle with CLBP… Do you find the back support on the leg sled adequate, and is the angle agreeable? What do you like about the sled vs. the press? Sorry so many questions! Love your modifications, very clever and helpful.
@@sratkovi thank you. I’m pretty lucky regarding my lower back because as long as I stay away from barbell squats, deadlifts, and non-chest supported rows, I’m good. I absolutely think the back support on the Sled is adequate and the angle is good. For the longest time, the Sled was my favorite because I found it more lower back friendly; however, now that I put the squat wedge on the Leg Press platform and the Powertec Ab Mat behind my lower back, it’s tough to choose which I like better. I have relatively new reviews for each machine and I have an old video comparing the previous model of each machine if you want to check those out.
Oh I just saw to add the selectorize stack it's an additional $500 so Powertec's functional trainer is $2,400 and REP's Arcadia Max is $2,500. Analyzing both machines Honestly, there is not one unbiased person that would or could realistically buy Powertec's instead of REP's. Have you talked with them about their prices and what regular customers want and are looking for because even Powertec would have to admit that they would buy the Arcadia Max over their's. You know I'm always honest with just as you are with us so I'm really curious about your thoughts and feelings on this. I've told you mine and frankly I'm a little surprised the Powertec's prices are where they are, not on all pieces but just on some certain pieces. Take Care
@@bobbyhunt3009 I just added the Deluxe FT with both stacks to the cart and it came to $2619. The Streamline FT with the stack comes to $1900. Both of Powertec’s functional trainers are almost 5 years old, while the Arcadia is relatively new - so it definitely has some improved features, although, I do like that Powertec’s Deluxe model has a 1:1 pulley ratio while the Arcadia is 2:1. I always email equipment suggestions and ideas to Powertec and I shared some recommendations when I went to Powertec HQ, but I have not suggested pricing for any product. As always, I appreciate the honesty and everything you said is certainly worth considering.

Do you even use the lever gym anymore like it’s not the best cable system and it’s not the best lever arm system the multi press is better than that so if you have the other stuff, are you personally using the leverage gym anymore
@@bdog98765I rotate exercises in and out of my training routine; at the moment, the Levergym is being used for seated calf raises. In this training block, my flat press (due to the lower lever arm attachment site) and incline press are on the Multipress and my cable pulldown and cable chest supported row are on the Lat Pulldown machine (mainly because it’s selectorized). I agree, and I’ve said many times before, the MP is a better pressing station than the LG; the Lat Pulldown Machine is a better cable system than the LG, but if I could only have one machine, it would still be the Powertec Levergym.
That is a great deal on the lat tower and stack. A selectorized lat pulldown with 190 pounds and an option to add plates for 1200? That's awesome. If it had s foot plate instead of that bar thing, i'd be in on that. I get it that other companies have heavier stacks, but lets be honest, nobody here needs a 310 pound stack on these things. You are paying more money for something youll never use.
@@balboa0621 I think it’s a really good deal too. I do all of my rows with my chest supported, so I don’t use the posts, but they are solid. I have seen many footplates on other lat pulldown machines have some wobble; whereas there’s no wobble with those posts.
If you didn’t use the high or low cable in the back to need the clearance for that, how much space does a levergym take up if you have it tucked into a corner about as much as you can?
@ if you’re not going to use the cable system, I would remove the weight horns, which would allow the very back of the Levergym to fit all the way in the corner and the machine would stick out 4’ I can use my cable system with 45s and it only sticks out from the corner 6’ - so the cable system and 45s requires 2 additional feet from the corner / wall.
@@trollzone1 I’d be happy with linear bearings too. Luckily, the machine is smooth, quiet, and it has a 1,000 pound max weight capacity; so I would love to feel how much of a difference, if any, linear bearings make.
@@HomeGymHacksandReviewsit’s basically like the difference nylon vs brass pullies make on a cable machine. I’m just saying stuff in this price range usually has linear bearings. I’m sure it’s an overall fine machine.
Enjoyed the video, Just my opinion but Powertec's functional trainer costs way too much. One can get REP's Arcadia or Arcadia Max for $2,500 and Powertecs's is regularly around $1900 or $2 ,000. You have to admit there is no comparison in the two as REP's is far above the Powertec one. Powertec must give a reason for the consumer to buy their functional trainer and they are not gonna do that with quality, functionality, or looks so they have to do it with price and right now with the price they have on it, there is not enough incentive for the buyer to purchase Powertec's over REP's or any other's. In your opinion what companies are on a lateral level being equal with Powertec on quality, functionality, fit & finish, and overall looks. Very curious in your answer as you are a Powertec lover and I'm totally neutral so we can get a biased opinion from you and an unbiased opinion from me. This is cool I'm not asking in any kind of negative way or trying to put Powertec down any at all, they just happen to be your favorite company and REP is mine so if someone asks me a question about REP, my answer would be biased rather on purpose or not because they are my favorite company. I'm taken out of context a lot with my comments, please dont think I'm shining negative light, I'm only pointing out Powertec needs to lower their prices if they want customers who currently buy from other companies. @@bobbyhunt3009 thank you. Like you said in another comment, some of Powertec’s products are priced incredibly well…maybe even low. However, you are right, when I compare their functional trainers to some of the other functional trainers on the market, Powertec’s haven’t had a recent update and they are priced the same or even more expensive. As for comparing Powertec to other brands, I think Powertec has a more diverse product line up than Rep, Titan, and Rogue. I think Powertec is much better quality than Titan, but Powertec’s racks and benches are not as robust as Rep’s and Rogue’s. However, Powertec’s FID Bench is really the only bench on the market that can accept 6 different plate loaded machines that are all pretty good. I think Powertec is on par with Bells, and from what I’ve seen, some of Powertec’s products look to be made slightly better than Bells. Ultimately, I think Powertec has done a great job of offering equipment that provides a lot of versatility, with a small footprint.
