The **CORRECT** d-pad inputs to spawn that final chest are: up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, up, down, left, right. The image I used in the video by u/skititlez u/RioxAA of the translated back cover has the wrong d-pad inputs. I recorded my footage for this a few weeks ago, but when I wrote my script for this video yesterday, I just copied the inputs from that translation image without double-checking them. Sorry about that! Also, the **CORRECT** d-pad inputs for secret treasure #2 are: left, up, left, up, right, up, left, up, right, down, right, right, up, right, down, left, down, right, down, left, down, left. This time I missed a down when writing in the script of the code. I'm so sorry for anyone having trouble with these! I'll put a note in the video title.
THANK YOU!!! I've been putting in this code for half an hour now and only just decided to read the comments to see if anyone else had the same problem of it not working
Also a good a idea, so people used to Watch the Video over an Ober again for more playtime. Same as me thinking im dumb. Then searching for help in the comments.😂 Thanks for the Video.🙌🏼
1:28 actualy makes zero sense you say right down then left.. i dont' see any indication of a left with those dots. this game pisses me off honestly think they coulda done this a bit better, i was able to find the crown on my own and that's it. I still don't even know what some of the items do , like the little fox dolls or the fox tea cup lookin things? the game never tells you and it is absolutely annoying to me that they would do that. They shoulda added more text from the NPC's we talk to for hints
I think that the code at 9:50 is incorrect. He missed a down. The real code should be this (at least it was for me). left up left up right up left up right down right right up right down left down right down left down left. Hope this works if you're having trouble!
It's not so bad. Something Mister Forged doesn't mention in this video is that Page 54 of the manual has a diagram, helpfully labeled "For additional support and secrets" in english, that has an arrangement of twelve circles with numbers written in them. If you've found one of the treasures and the treasure room they go in, it becomes quickly apparent that the diagram corresponds to the treasure room, and the numbers are the pages of the manual that have a hint to that treasure. Armed with that knowledge, I was able to get 11 out of the 12 on my own, only missing number 4 because that one NEEDS you to translate the language and I just couldn't be bothered.
protip: the hints for all of these secrets are always written in an blue marker on certain guide book pages, as opposed to all other notes which are written in other colours.
I was so pissed to find that the secret chest in the Hero's Grave that took me ages to decipher held nothing more than a single coin. Well, at least it's funny.
These 12 puzzles are like a second playthrough for me. Cos the first time I played, I never noticed any of the D-pad stuff until the very end of the game when some doods on the internet said there's a puzzle for the door on the mountains. So I solved it and quit the game. And now that I'm playing Tunic a second time having never noticed these 12 treasures, it's simply a treat to enjoy a game for the second time and having it completely fresh now. Now- the ultimate puzzle isn't the mountain puzzle but figuring out what on earth is on page 34.
I had no idea you could use the fire wand and ice dagger at the same time. I did know about grappling to frozen enemies, so I kept lobbing ice bombs from the ledge above until one managed to clip the slime. Now that I see the actual solution, I’m shook
It felt very rewarding finding these, they're like the Animal Well rabbits but actually feasible to get by yourself. I managed to get all of them without hints except #4, I'm just no good at riddles. My favorites are #8 and #9, particularly #9 because of the realization that the chest in the photo isn't actually there, and finding that chest is what gives the treasure
That windmill one took me forever to get, as for the one that teaches how to use the dagger with the magic rod I just used an freeze bomb instead. (I opted to approach from the top)
Yeah, I've seen that some people have done it that way. I was just mindblown when I noticed there was a whole new combat/movement tactic, though, that allows you to sequence break through the entire game. It's great.
the 4th secret treasure really frustrates me, i had to find this video find it, even though i learned the game's language by myself, only using the game's manual, and translating everything by hand, no internet or outside advice, i was very proud of that. But when i decoded the message after soaking the page in water, it made no sense to me at all, i was thinking of a bird's feather. Thing is, i'm not a native english speaker, i speak it decently but cannot understand the subtility of the language and this play of words made it impossible for me to complete this challenge by myself. Even though the game Is translated, every rune still is unchanged and refers to english and that fucked me up through the whole process. Kinda sad that this game's wonderfull secrets are WAY harder if you've not been blessed by being a native english speaker.
I can't seem to get the 13th treasure no matter what I do, I have every page, I'm in ng+ after a true ending I have every fairy, I have every other treasure but this one refuses to spawn. There's 3 possibilities I can think of: 1. You wrote and said the code wrong which I find unlikely in this case. 2. I'm stupid and am missing something 3. There's some additional prerequisite
My first encounter with the large white spider was peeking through to the landmass at treasure 10 before I even hit the quarry. Anyone know what that was about?
Can someone explain to me how someone would work out number 9/back to work. If I’m supposed to connect the dots from left to right, how can there be a dpad entry that is left. I’m obviously missing something (probably something obvious) but I can’t find anything online that actually shows me how the dots connect
After seeing the way they wanted us to connect the dots here, I am enraged. That was so bogus. Lol. Gonna finish this game out of pure spite at this point but wow. Time for a more rewarding hobby, for real.
Something you don't mention in the video, and I think you should is that there's a page in the manual that talks about and hints at where to find hints for each of these treasures. It becomes more clear when you realize the shape of the pedestals that you put the secrets on, and hints at what happens when you do find the treasures ;) Look at page 54 :)
man i didn't know how to get the fairies and thought i was supposed to get the secret treasures since i found around half of them before finding any fairies lmao i got stuck for a good 8 or so hours just finding secret treasures thinking it was the right way to do it
The 13 treasure sounds more like the sword in the gardens under where you fight the small guardian boss. not at the hero grave but the other place to get a sword. I thought it was weird for the game to have that second sword behind the holy cross door.
This is really cool, though from a naive perpective I would suggest showing all of the problem-solving steps explicitly. You mostly do, however there are a few exceptions - for example, at 1:25 when you explain that the dots have the d-pad code, it wasn't clear to me at first that there is only one possible path for connecting the dots. I was initially trying to read somehow from left to right. Or the riddle about the softest feather corrected 11 times, how to get from that to the d-pad code. Just a suggestion, hope not to seem rude. Cool stuff overall, thanks!
Thank you for giving me critique and ALSO being nice! Not rude at all. Some people just write, "this video sux. I hate you." and that's not useful at all, haha. You have a good day.
“The softest feather” is down feather, so down. “Corrected” means to right, so right, and it tells you 11 times. When someone has “Departed” it means they have left. Once more means that you add one to the previous 11, so 12.
It's like a connect-the-dots path. You start at the big dot in the upper-left, then go right, down, left, up, left, left, down, right, right, down, down - ending at the final dot in the bottom-right. Do you see it now?
@@FuryForged that's what I tried doing too but I don't see how you get those directions. I guess I'm confused by the order cause left doesn't make sense to me. From big dot to closest one right? Then go the one below, and then right and then up is the only way I can connect it. How could it be left after going down?
@@FuryForged ahhh I think I get it now. You go from big dot to the one far right? Then down one row then left. I kept thinking it was closest dot, not per row
I've tried 4 for hours and It just doesn't work for me... Both with sound and soundless. I press DOWN RIGHT 11x times first and then LEFT 12x times but still it doesn't work... What can I do?? :'(
About the 13 secret chest, furyforged said he'd talk about it again in a different video about Tuneic, the other secret language. Is that because the noise translates to something funny that is different from the fairy chests? I'm just trying to make sure there isn't anything special that I missed.
Hey man i just started playing this game but what about the secret on the starting shore you can dash teleport to the right and read what i think is a sign but i dont know the runic language have you seen that secret? And if so what does it mean

Some have pretty rewarding solutions (3, 9), some are way too easy (10, 11), and some are completely disconnected from the rest of the game (2, 5) (hitting a random wall, really? Don't feel bad, I'm a native english speaker and even if I had gone through all the trouble of translating (which I didn't) I still wouldn't have figured out the riddle. Why they put that treasure behind several layers of difficult puzzles is beyond me.
The musical notes puzzle is so unfair. How am I supposed to know which notes are those ones written on the manual? And even tho I knew what they meant, how would I recognize which was a high note or not? Who knows this stuff? They all sound the same to me

For secret treasure 4, you don't actually need to turn the volume off, the "shh" is just saying to keep the message a secret.
