    Derringers are meant for point-blank range, so you load the top barrel with any 3 inch #4 birdshot, and the bottom barrel with 2.5 inch Federal handgun 000 buckshot. You fire the birdshot first, pointing at the face; that way you don't have to waste time aiming. You diminish and distract the attacker with that first quick shot, and likely blind them as well. Then you follow up with the buckshot. You want 2.5 inch buckshot, because they are higher velocity, since they're pushing less weight; which results in more penetration.

    I just picked up my "Rough n Rowdy". Ive been wanting one of these style Derringer pistols. I had intially looked at the "Judge" which sparked my interest in one that has interchangeable barrels.
    But i really made my decision from researching a Online Ad when I ran onto a "Bond Arms" add online. After seeing ALL the different makes and models of this style pistol. I was really impressed. And once I seen that it was a Family owned American Company. That sealed the deal for me! Im big on family owned and small business support!!!
    Im trying to see whats a decent ammo to target practice with and also for carrying concealed.
    Im very excited to go out and shoot this gun. Im from WV and im sooo glad we still have our rights and abilities to just go out and shoot responsibly as well as carry.

    I just purchased one of the roughnecks in 38 special and right out of the box the round extractor was extremely loose. After tightening it the roughneck was almost next to impossible to open with rounds in it. If i fire the rounds and work with it, it is still to tight but will open. It doesnt matter what brand of ammo or even with new unfired brass it is still a bear to open most of the time. In fact it opens better with my reloads. This one slipped through quality control. I contacted them and they wanted pictures and a description of the problem and hopefully will get back with me but i cant believe they sent this one out.

      We did, indeed! When we discovered that we could 3D print a really tough resin in decent quantity, it allowed us to expand into the more brutal rounds. Back when we tested .44Mag, the recoil literally shattered wooden grips and ripped the rubber ones. But, technology eventually solved this issue, and we invented the B6 grip which isn't just tough, but also does a really nice job balancing felt recoil.

    Does anybody have problems with knuckle busting ?

    • @BondArmsInc
      @BondArmsInc  2 роки тому

      Excellent Question! The short answer is: no. Surprised? Here is why:
      Since our derringers don't have a big rotating cylinder like a revolver does, the barrels sit lower in relation to the shooter's hand. Being lower, barrels are actually in-line with the top bone of the shooter's arm directly behind the wrist. So when the Bond is fired, the recoil is a push against the palm rather than a flip up at the muzzle.
      If the barrels sat up higher, that would change the angle of recoil and the gun would flip up at the muzzle end because the fulcrum (I so rarely get to use that word!) is at the wrist. Since this is not the case when it comes to the Bond derringers, we regularly see younger and more slight individuals shooting our hand cannons in .45 Colt and full 3" .410 shotgun rounds with zero recoil issues like knuckle -busting.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey.
    Was kicking around an option you could add to your list.
    As all the derringers are the same blank.
    How about a laser holster combination. The laser would snap onto the barrel. And when extracted from the holster would activate. So any time it is clear of the holster it would be on. As they are short barreled this would help with shot placement over a longer distance. And would add so little to the size of the gun.
    This is an idea solely thought of by myself and I am not claiming any rights to it. I would like the ability to get something quality made and I feel others would appreciate it as well.

    I want to know if buffalo bore 180 gr 357 mag can be shot in a bond arms. Buffalo bore says it can be shot in any modern gun but it's hire pressure. So I guess I just don't know if it excludes this gun. Plus you should make a 44 and a 45-70. I know so many people that would buy one.

    • @BondArmsInc
      @BondArmsInc  2 роки тому

      Regarding the Buffalo Bore: Our engineers and QC department have deemed it a "no-go" as the pressure is indeed very high.
      We do have a .44! Two in fact. 44-40 and 44Spl. :)
      .44Mag and 45-70 is just too much kick. When we tried test firing the .44Mag out of a 6" ported barrel, several employees were injured. We won't put that out for the public because it's not responsible.

    I have a .45 ACP Roughneck that is having light striking issues, occasionally with Aguila maybe 2/50. But with Winchester it's awful, maybe 2/10 rounds it just won't pop. I did buy it used, so it's possible the firing pin has just gotten dirty somehow, so I just gave it a deep clean, but there's definitely an issue with Winchester's lighter 45 ACP round.

      @@JB_Ricks I tried 2 of them. Seemed safe enough. Recoil and noise were pretty normal for 45LC. It’s probably just a liability thing. Wanna cover themselves just in case it didn’t turn out to be safe. Plus at like $5 a shot, I doubt they were springing that kind of money for testing

    I just bought one of your guns the 45/410 rowdy. I was wanting to know can I get a 6in in 38/357. And would you recommend it. In that caliber. I was thinking more power the longer the barrel. Would that be the case if I got that barrel. I'm a big fan now. It's my only carry.

  • @garysnotsowildadventures3045

    I have a Texas defender 357 bond that keyhole ammunition. Is this normal for the derringers? Other than that I love it.

    • @BondArmsInc
      @BondArmsInc  Рік тому +1

      It can be. Really just depends on barrel length, range, and grains of load. I suggest trying a higher grain bullet. The longer bullet will get more centrifugal direction from the rifling of the barrel. I assume you've got a 3" barrel, so that may help.

    I have 3 Bond Arms derringers in 22lr and 22 mag and no matter what ammo I use it hey always stick. CCI being my favorite but I’ve tried almost all the brands that my LGS carry. I don’t have that issue with either of my American Arms derringers ( small revolvers ). Still I like the Bond Arms guns.

      This is one of many reasons we stopped producing the .22 barrels. They just run centerfire much better. However, we do plan to have .22LR for the Stinger and Stinger RS by the end of the year, so don't get rid of that ammo!

    I think Bond Arms has a kick ass product. What I would like to see from Bond Arms is a light weight(artistically machined), long barreled derringer with recoil absorbing back-strap, I think this would be huge on the C.C. market. A 16 ounce 2 1/2" 410/45colt with a 4" barrel would be a market crusher.

    Man, I've got to tell you. I am a pistol loving individual. I carry several different name brands and several different sizes of guns. I bought the rough and rowdy a few days ago and I am excessively impressed and I'm not that easily impressed. The little gun is pretty daggone accurate! It sounds like a cannon and I would not recommend ever shooting it without ear appreciation which is my only concern. I carry mine with a side draw holster just in case somebody is unlucky enough to try to carjack me. I think I'm going to have to keep my ear muffs really close by. That thing is a Canon! I'm probably going to order a longer Barrel so I can shoot the 3-inch 410 shells. I tell you, it's a lot of fun to shoot. I was Target practicing today and some of my gums are a little bit touchy. I had a PMR-30 and it just wasn't laying down rounds like it should have but then again, I didn't clean it the last time I shot it. I had a couple North American Arms pocket guns on me and I must say the 22 long rifle with the slightly bigger rubber grip is a Accurate Gun. My North American Arms 22 Mag is shooting a little to the left. I've got my rifle sighted in So Perfect I should be striking matches like Jed Clampett. I put my earmuffs on and walk down a little closer to the Woods with the rough and rowdy. I was on Target but I did not expect that kind of power. I only shot one two and a half inch Triple ought buck shot and the rest for cowboy loads of 45 Colt. I LOVE IT! Talk about a thrill. I can shoot it with one hand but it takes two for me to pull that a hammer back. I don't mind. I was considering buying a 454 Casull a while back. I'm not hunting elephant and if I were I could probably get one with that gun. I seldom buy any gun that I'm this pleased with Straight Out of the Box. Most handguns are a pain in the ass and you have to spend a lot of time cleaning them and figuring out which ammo works the best. These guns are simple but extremely robust. It's my favorite gun. Now if someone could just invent automatic ear plugs. I'm going to get on that right away😁. Thank you so very much for making a product that actually live up to the hype. I've got a lot of guns and most don't! I will recommend these guns to everyone I know I know a lot of gun shooting freedom-loving Americans.

    2 1/2 inch 410 Bore shotshells with 9 shot will pulverize any snake. Although 410 Bore shotshells are crazy expensive when available.
    The 45 Automatic cartridge in a 3 inch barrel would be handy and probably more accurate then the 45 Colt jumping to the short rifling in a 410 Bore/45 Colt barrel.
    I'm buying the 45 Colt only 3.5 inch barrel for my Bond Arms Snake Slayer. I just need more rifling than a 1/2 inch.

      Very nice. Though I will warn on something you kinda said. The 45 automatic cannot be shot in a 45 Colt. It is rimless, and would get lost in the deeper chamber. But if that's not what you were getting at in your second paragraph, then never mind!
