Great review and very informative. For me, the takeaway is to learn how to tune your quad. Even if it’s manufacture tuned, I prefer to tune mine and then compare it to the manufacturer.
It appears the new norm for smaller quads are thin yet thicker arms. I’m currently testing a prototype 3.5” quad that’s not released yet which also has 5mm arms, yet very thin.
Great looking quads!!
Yes sir! You do need to be able to do basic tuning at least.. I wish I didn't have that "review it as it comes" thing going on ;)
Yep.. narrow but thicker arms.. Shock result in less drag?
Fantastic flying and review, dude! 😃
I bet it was a huge issue, but the tune looks great now!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks brother :D Well yeah.. I wouldn't call it a huge issue.. I just hadn't expected stock BF to run better then what Foxeer had entered as a tune :$
Cheers and have a good week over there!
love 4 inch!.....wish they offered a BNF frsky option... (I know, what can I say ....I still use frsky)
Don't worry.. I also fly with a Frsky radio.. I just don't use their protocols for quads :$
It wasn't that long ago most companies offered their quads with R-XSR or what? ;)
Can you tell me how much maximum current this 4" took?
I was looking into this one, but as all 4" bnf these are much too heavy. Built my own and am so happy with it.
ohwww dammit.. I do have DVR recordings with OSD, but I have not flown it with the current indicator on screen :$
However: this is not ment as a long-range / light quad at all...
@@DutchRC thanks. It would be interesting. That tells me how powerful it is more or less.
@@chrisbee5481if the weather is flyable this weekend I record a DVR for you :)
@@chrisbee5481here you go! :) ua-cam.com/video/0eVwLte7yA0/v-deo.html
I tried to order the Aura 5" a few days ago, and foxeer sent me a email saying they had just discontinued it....they said they would sell me the Mega 5"' instead...I liked your reviews on the Aura and respect rour opinion.....How does the Mega compare with the Aura???......(I realize that you have the 4" here).....Any comparison info that you can give me would be helpful......great vids always......thx...
Thanks for the trust Gusto!
I would see the Mega version(s) mostly as an evelution of the Aura's, and I would order one in a hartbeat. The frame is mostly the same with a better camera-mount / cage..
So If you wanted the Aura 5.. You will like the Mega 5 :) (I would ;) )
Cheers and happy flying!
@@DutchRC thanks so so much for thde info - I will look forward to my new Mega 5"!
@@gustofpv4470 Haha :D now you have me wondering if I need a Mega5 as well ;)
They look tacky! No spare bolts, no spare anything, diatone give you everything *2 m3 screws, loctited
Noo, look so tacky and cheap apart from motors
diatone f4 i have a tune four and its finally got a small crack on bottom plate!
Shame, thanks for the reviews
yeah soooo you probably know I've had my share of Diatone's... I always DO appreciate all the extra stuff they come with.....
And then end up never using that extra stuff :D
ohw well.. My impression is Foxeer focusses more on their quality being the selling point..
Weather that's true is for US to decide I guess :)
4 inches are dead ,they dont make sense!
Absolutely disagree. There is no good 4" bnf on the market right now, but if you build one like I have, you're blown away.
There are just too little 4" frames on the market. Hard to find
@@chrisbee5481 what frame? thank you.
@@PedroTome75 My go to 4" frame is the amax f4mini.
The new hqprop 4x3x3 is awesome.
Motors I use amax 2005 2200kv on 650mah 6s.
My dry weight with DJI o3 is 235g.
All I can tell you from my 40 builds I made the last 5 year, is that this thing is awesome.
My issue with these 4" bnf is, that they are too heavy.
If you're from europe you can buy from amax here. I'm not sponsored, I just tried it out and awesome.
The 2005 motors are only available from the german amax store.
