    25 recorded crashes make it indestructible? Sure makes it very hardy. 🤣 Seems the one item these current line of cinewhoops is missing is camera protection.📸

      Hi Nick, great video as always!
      In previous videos you have mentioned loss of control due to "yaw wash".
      Do you think that you may have been experiencing 'Vortex Ring State' or VRS? (a dangerous condition experienced by helicopters when descending with very low airspeed):

      @@terrylnwoods No I don't believe so as that is more typical when descending straight down flat, rather than nose down in a dive. Also the flight controllers used in quad like in the linked video have very limited abilities and brushed geared motors which struggle to control the prop. Those setups aren't designed around fast prop speed changes.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому

      I suggest staying away from frsky, expresslrs is the go to for many as the hardware is less expensive, and the performance/feature set outstanding. The downside to expresslrs is the firmeware flashing. Many just don't like it. If you don't feel comfortable learning to firmware flash, unfortunately this eliminates the good rx protocols and we are back to frsky, flysky and dmsx

    Really appreciated the information that you share, thank you. I do have a question, I'm still practicing on a simulator and wanted to know from your experience if this drone would be good for a beginner that has the DJI goggles and a Radiomaster Zorro w/Crossfire controller or is there something else that you would recommend? 2nd question, on the link page for the Foxeer it's given you the option to choose Polarization: RHCP or LHCP, sorry but I don't know which to choose if I was going to go with this drone. Thank you again for any help.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому +1

      There are so many quads that can be good or solid first quad, I would put this in that category. I suspect if the product page is showing antenna polarization its the analog version. I think you want to be sure your selecting the dji/vista/link version and normally those don't come with a polarization option as the airunit/vista/link come standard lhcp.

    Overall, I don't think BNF costs it money.
    1. VTX died almost immediately. They send me a new one, but I lost like a week and half.
    2. No buzzer. How much does it cost to put a buzzer in?
    2.1. Okay, I'll put my buzzer in. The drone was disassmbled because of VTX, otherwise it would too much of a hustle for just a buzzer.
    2.2 5 volt buzzer does not work. What kind of buzzer is needed is not specified on the product page, what voltage?..
    2.3 The drone is not setup to buzz with motors. So basically you get a drone WITH NO BUZZER AT ALL. Which is a bit crazy. Tiny Mobula 7 has both.
    3. Camera has its own OSD, because of the other problems I haven't yet got to figuring out how to turn it off.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому

      I am sorry its not working out well for you. As to the buzzer working we need to solder a piezo buzzer to the buzz/beep + and - pads, they are right next to the battery pads. A side note, in micros we don't often get buzzers in the last two years or so. But I do agree in cases of micros over 100grams we can afford the 2.5grams of a buzzer. The camera osd requires the camera dongle to turn camera osd elements off they look like this i.ebayimg.com/images/g/jlcAAOSwkDBiAgCo/s-l500.jpg

    Hi. Is there anyway that I could get hold of your Betaflight "Diff" file for this quad ? I have just purchased one (Analog video with the R-XSR receiver option) and the factory loaded Betaflight settings are totally wrong; even the UART setting for the supplied receiver was incorrectly allocated so nothing worked. Although I now have Betaflight showing "movement" on the Receiver page (I had to select UART 4 to match where the Rx SBUS wire was connected by the factory to flight control board pin "Rx4") the quad is still "dead" so I assume that other settings may also be incorrect.

    It's really hard to see which mount patterns this frame supports. You can fit stuff in there somehow, but some of it is attached to the carbon upper, some of it is attached to the plastic ducts, some of it might be attached to the carbon bottom. And the manufacturer's product page is characteristically ... light on details.
    One of the bigger issues is I fly with a Diamond VTX. Even if I could bury the VTX in the internal space (big if), the ducts will block the SD card and button access, if they don't already crowd the VTX in the first place.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому +1

      The AIO/FC is attached to the carbon. The vista is mounted to the lower carbon plate then secured to the plastic ducts. If the diamond is secure to the AIO and the sd slot is positioned to the right or left there is a gap between the upper carbon frame and the duct framing which could allow access to the sd card slot.

    That's really nice of you to offer to set your friend up with a quad. Good man. I like the video . I dont think I'll be getting this one. I would really want something that can carry my hero 9 which I know that's goong to be hard to do I just can't get a quad and a new action cam . I really want something that I could use to fly around my uncles skating rink and get footage of some people skating for him. He saw a video and is asking me if I could do that for him. All I have are 5" and I have a diatone 349 and that's not made to fly close to anyone. Lol . And suggesting ideas for me ? I would really love to help me uncle out.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому +1

      Kinds depends on what your uncle wants with the footage. If he plans to publish for marketing purposes we probably want something that can carry a naked go pro or better. The speedybee flex25 and foxwhoop25 can both do that as well as many others. The geprc cinelogs fly nice but the prop protection doesn't hold up well in harder crashes.

      @@NickBurnsFPV yeah, somehow 2.5" is considered as gold std for micros. Racewhoop30/25 and cinerace20 done their job well, not lifetime ofkos. Imo smaller seems possible like cockroach75 but these kind of designs are better when it protect the sides more. The stiff carbon fiber holds them really tight-fit and reduces the whole weight by a lot.

    I mostly fly whoop style quads and I hit everything from metal poles to wooden posts to tree's buildings, asphalt, concrete, gravel etc etc etc....and I have NEVER broken a frame not even the prop guards. I have broken props, I knocked a motor off of one and still never broke the frame or guards on any of them.
    So most all "whoop style" quads are pretty tough . But I do not think anything is "indestructible" per say, I am sure some have done some extreme damage to theirs, I guess I have been fortunate not to.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому +1

      Maybe your super power is crashing but not breaking? Its possible. :) By chance do you have the original mobula 7? Or a Geprc Cinelog? Those are two off the top of my head that I hear a lot about the prop protection breaking.

    • @FlyingBuzzard
      @FlyingBuzzard 2 роки тому

      @@NickBurnsFPV Lol could be..No, the only whoop style I have been flying lately ( when I can ) has been the TinyHawk 2's mostly, I do fly the Diatone Tina Whoops a lot as well ( they carry my key cam ) and the only whoop style quad I have ever harmed was the Iflight Cinebee, and that was knocking the motor off and of course the constant props flying off and breaking but still never have broken the prop guards or frame how I do not know...lol
      I also have several and still enjoy the LDARC ET 115 and 125 series quads, now they are like tanks and I have abused them a lot with no loss of any component yet
      Other than those a GEPRC Phantom flight or the Happy Model Larva X HD quads have been my fun ( not whoops ) tho.
      Have not bought a new quad in awhile. As I do not get to fly as much as I would like .
