Am I the only one who loves a high quality sound sweep? I always think of the sound just before the Death Star fired it's main weapon... Star Wars (The OG)
Thank you man, we went through alot of trial and error on this design to get the most bass possible out of the tacomas. Im a bass head my self and this box gets down !!
Love it!! Now I know which sounds better. I like how it’s really detailed between which subwoofer and box. Really looking forward to get the 6.5 sub box when I get my Tacoma😂❤
Thanks for the video. I'm pushing three SunDown Audio SA-6.5s with a SFB 1800.5. At 1.3 ohms I'm at about 831 watts. I say it does the job. Very happy with your box. I'll be upgrading to three CT Sound Mesos and a Taramp Smart 3 3000 Watt mono. The box makes all the difference. So happy.
Never heard of CT Sounds being an upgrade from Sundown, but too each their own. Also DD has some nice 6.5@ also. 500 RMS and can take more. Just thought I would put that out there.
Box is everything. I’ve been in trucks on some high powered 8s that absolutely get downnnn. If you are gonna do a cheap ass build go for cone area. I’ve got 3 tens in my truck on 4k in a 7.0 cube net box that beats
Well this is on my list for next year purchase. I had a sub in an s10 years ago and severely miss it. Can you do a partial installation video? Or maybe go over the amp settings and connections. It has been 15years since i messed with audio installation. Does your full kit work with factory radio without the jbl?
When you build a boxer speakers, you have to build it based on the requirements of the woofer not the size of box you have available. That box isn't even big enough for 112-in let alone two. Obviously it's going to perform poorly in a box that's way. Undersized hence why they didn't play low. If you called the test, which speakers can I get the most output from in this specific box size? Out of being a better way to explain the test then to make it sound like a 12-in sub isn't as good as a 6 and 1/2
Hey Mahalo for the support! I would recommend 1st any name brand head unit (kenwood) (alpine) with 3 sets of 4 volt preouts also high pass filters / low pass filters features.
Found this video really helpful! I had brought a full Memphis audio system piece by piece for my 2014 Chevy Malibu ltz but unfortunately someone hit me Super Bowl Sunday and my car is totaled. I’ve been wanting to get a Tacoma but didn’t want the speakers I bought to go to waste. Do you think 3 8” Memphis mojos would fit back there?
Unfortunately, there is not enough air space behind the back seat for the 8s to perform correctly. I've tried it before, and it's not as loud or deep of bass compared to 6.5" subs.
nice!!! quick question, i just got a 23 access cab trd off road. i was wondering if you ever had any electrical problems from installing subs..i want to avoid issues before installing my type R
@@MauiSoundsCarAudio jus heard people got electrical gremlins..i dont got an ig but u gave me confidence to do it!!! thanks hope all is good in maui aloha from big island!! subbed!
Of course 6.5 “ because more cone area vs 2 12” subwoofer, plus the 6.5 would be better suited for small trucks then 12 “ subwoofers. Cone area and excursion is what you look for.
@@MauiSoundsCarAudio There aint even enough air space for 2 12’s too. Thats why the 6.5’s metered higher on the lows. 2 10’s ported behind the seat Will fuck those 6.5s up

Haha its pretty epic !
Think this just solidified my choice to buy your package for my 3rd Gen. Awesome work man.
Thank you ! We definitely got the tacomas dialed in over the years.
I just heard the 3 6.5s. At first I was very skeptical, after the demo I was very Impressed very clean low and loud.
Thanks for checking em out !
I have a single Kicker 45VL7R121 12in SoloR powered by a CXA1200.1, going at either 4Ω or 1Ω an it sounds damn good in my 21 Taco.
Nice man, always good to have some bass
I’d love to get one of your boxes in the future, the design is awesome!

Good job man keep up the great work! And keep the videos coming!
Thanks man! I gotta come visit Louisiana soon

@MauiSoundsCarAudio where can I get a sub box for the 6.5? Thanks nice video
@@LeonD519 yeah, scratching the CTs. I changed my mind for 6.5 SunDown U's.
@@George-Kliavkoff4Big12 my buddy loves his U’s, they get down.
I'm saving to get one bro I promise. Hopefully sooner then later.
Thank you muchly appreciated!

Awesome video. I have 6, 6 5 CT Sounds Meso, and they pound for their size. Is it extreme? No but i went for sound quality
I heard a Long time ago 8s are the perfect size for full range and sound...
Edit..not full range but full bass frequencies
In my experience: CONE area is everything: 2 proper enclosure: 3 clean electrical 😮

What do you think three DD 1506's would perform like in your box. Also could they even fit in there.
We recommend sundown audio U series 6.5" for best performance. Audio Dynamics 2000 series 6.5" is the next one we recommend.
Great video are you located on Maui?
Yes we are
Good shit
Just got a new sub

Hey, yes we will be making a how to install video in the future, in the mean time I can do video tech support to help out with installation.
And yes the kit on our website works with your system with or without jbl system

If you would have kept going down to 20 hz, you would have found the 12s to have substantially more output below 32hz. 🔊🔊
Bulllshit 🤣 try it
Would this fit in a 2022 Tacoma? Double cab, and where do I find the 3 6.5 speaker box?
Yes it does , check out mauisounds.com
Can the box handle DD Audo 6.5" 1500 Series Subwoofer
If the cutout diameter is the same and the mounting depth is the same or less as the audio dynamics 2000 series, then yes, they will fit.
What head unit is recommended to use with the bundle package..i just bought the bundle!
Hey Mahalo for the support! I would recommend 1st any name brand head unit (kenwood) (alpine) with 3 sets of 4 volt preouts also high pass filters / low pass filters features.
@@MauiSoundsCarAudio Do you think you can look for one for me, i prefer alpine but either or is good
Can you suggest a head unit for me with those specs please 🙏🏽
I’d a factory non-JBL head unit still usable?
@David-ww5tz Kenwood DMX7709S and if you order off if crutchfield they can assist you with parts / install instructions.
Just got my Tacoma box from y'all today and love how it hits the lows!! I'm a bas head, have yall ever tried 5 6.5 subs in the box?
Nice man glad you like it ! If you put more subs it won't hit the lows as good. We tried 4 and 5 6.5" but it sounded like crap compared to the 3 6.5"
Can that speaker box go in 2015 taco???
Yes, and they are available on MauiSounds.com

If you dont use the audio dynamics subs what are the next best thing for the people that only buy the box?
Ct sounds meso 6.5" is the next best option, the audio dynamics are louder but if on a budget the ct sounds is a good choice.
I just bought 2023 tacoma sport. Will the 3 6.5" box still fit in the back?
If your truck is the double cab with 4 doors it will fit that model.
Can you put links. Where you can buy the sub boxes
Hey, yes, check out mauisounds.com , we have a few different package options available.
Hey, where did you mount the amps?
The bass amp is under the drivers seat, the 4 channel amp is under the passenger seat.
Do you know at what volume level the Alpine headunit clips?
33 is the maximum unclipped signal.
Would you sell the blueprints for the sub box??
Sorry, no we only sell the boxes loaded with subs or without.
WERE THE 12'S HITTING THE BACK OF THE SEAT?
No, they have about an inch of clearance before the seat hits.
What is the cubic feet space of the sub box?
1.10 cubic feet after sub and port displacement
Pull the back seat up some !!
Can you explain more ?
Did the 6.5s get louder in the lows because of the port? I have 2 l7t 10s in a sealed box and the lows are terrible. Peak is around 55hz.
It's a combination of the subs being down fired and the port making it hit the lows better.
Do you ship to Guam?
Yes but it is expensive
how u gonna compare your top line 6.5’s to the most trashest shallow 12s in a sealed box🤣🤣🤣
It'll out perform the JL audio 12s as well.
@@MauiSoundsCarAudio two of them tw3’s? Hell no

@@MauiSoundsCarAudio Would 2 full size 8’s behind the seat be louder than 3 6.5’s?
Unfortunately no, if you look back on our IG we did that with some sundown 8s and it didnt perform as good as the 6.5s down fired
Smaller then speakers faster the bass response bigger the speaker slower the bass response
