Love the biology of sebum demonstration! You must be a teacher! Edit: can't wait for the essential oils mixing video. This is super helpful and interesting!
I am glad you found it helpful! Look for the essential oils video in the near future. I have some others in the queue before I get to that one, though. And, yes, I am a teacher: a university professor, to be precise.
I have been doing it for years... I get everything on iHerb... almond oil, aragan oil, vit e and essential oils for a bit of fragrence... saves me a fortune. I even make it for freinds.
Thank you for this very informative and money saving teaching. What would you recommend for cold canadian winter climate for beard oil ? Heavier carrier ?
This was a great tutorial. I have been making my own beard balm for a while, but my beard is starting to get pretty long so I will be moving to oil soon, but didn't know what type of oil to use.
greatest fan of your channel , great video again , i am looking to mix the carrier oils - Argan, olive and jojoba oils (mixed with some essential oils for scent) can you please recommend what percent of those 3 carrier oils will I need to use please.. thanks love from London, any other oils you recommend would be awesome awesome awesome ... cheers m8
As far as my research has led me to believe, there is no magic ratio of the oil amounts. I would play with it to see what works best for you. Make some small batches at different ratios and try each for a couple weeks. See which works best. There are so many variables at play: your hair type and characteristics, the weather, your climate, humidity, activity level, nutrition, etc. Finding the right mix is going to be very personal to you. However, as long as you use recommended oils that you aren't allergic to, no ratio should be damaging to your hair.

Coconut oil does have benefits for beards. But, it has also been shown to aggravate acne. I like a blend of oils for a broad spectrum of benefits.
