    Just a pro tip for testing your scent combinations. Put your scents on individual Q-tips and then drop them all into a jar. The sent will combine and give you an idea of what they smell like together. This will keep you from having to mix oils

    I just wanted to add to your sandalwood, orange, & peppermint oil you made, something I will sneak in instead of peppermint is black pepper oil. It smells awesome! Just like the mint, only add a drop. It's strong, but it is nice for winter or against any citrus scent. Gives a nice earthy note. Brings out the sandalwood nice.

    Just put a blend together in a 10ml bottle.
    Equal parts Jojoba/Almond/Argan oils as carriers. 3 drops of bergamot, 3 drops of sandalwood, 2 drops of Patchouli. It was a hit with the kids... they don’t seem to like the woody/earthy smelling ones that I do, but they seemed happy with this one!
    As an added bonus, I read somewhere that both Bergamot and Cedarwood, can encourage hair growth, which could be a bonus for those trying to grow their beard longer at the same time, like I am...
    Thanks for the directions! You’ve gained a subscriber today!

    Love this video for so many reasons, but mostly because you made your own beard oil using natural, plant based products with absolutely no toxins! You use DoTerra, we use Young Living Oils. Some great oils that will make 'mountain-man' type smelling beard oil are Idaho Blue Spruce, Balsam Fir, Northern Lights Black Spruce,
    Cedarwood (which you mentioned), Ocotea, Lavender, etc. Great job on caring for the man-mane! [high-five]

    Hi Jeremy, I'm a new subscriber thanks for all your info on all the type's of oils, id had trouble with split ends as my beard is now about 6 inches long and going for the long beard, I've been getting it trimmed here and there, but it's always been dry and nasty, due to work conditions, making my own oils will be the way to go at least i know what in it, thanks one again mate,

    Really need to start using beard oil, my gf constantly complains of how scratchy my beard is. Thinking of doing one that smells like whiskey, cigars, and spent cordite (which will require some mixing itself). You know, the tired joke about the ATF sounding like a fun afternoon.

    OK. I don't have a beard. I do have a "foo man choo" style mustache. When I did a beard 30 some oodd years ago, it was a scraggly mess. So, my questions are 1) beard oil in a mustache- yes or no. 2) Any tips, tricks, hints, esperiences, etc., about growing a "manly" beard such as your own. Anyway, thanks for the great videos, love the production and the work you put into them. I I look forward to all the new posts you make, even if thier not on time, haha, And know that this is something you don't have to do, but you do it for the love. :-) By the way, I love the music you pick!

    • @JeremySiers
      @JeremySiers  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Marc, glad you are digging the videos! As for using oil in the mustache, sure, I use it in mine. Helps keep it healthy and keeps the skin under the stache in good shape also. Keeps ya from getting any dry flaky skin.
      As for growing a beard...my best advice it just let it grow. Keep it in good shape by using beard oil to minimize damage and breakage. Also to combat itchy skin in the early stages. Keep it well groomed and trim it occasionally to keep in under control so it doesn’t drive you crazy....and grow on!!! 👍🏻

    When using peppermint - keep a bottle of it in the garage with the lid on tight. To use it, bring it in the lab where you're making the beard oil and loosen the lid for 10 seconds. That should be enough.

    I’m looking to be a Santa during the Christmas time, but I wanted to try some stuff ahead of time to know what I want. Any recommendations for Christmas scented beard oil recipes?

    Most easy way to make your beard oil smell like your signature parfyme (like say Creed Aventus) is to add a fief drop of it to the destinated oil. To do that just pull the atomizer out of the parfume bottle and replase it with drop-nozzle, then press the drops to the oil. If you want to get the fragrances better soluble to the oil, give the oil a little microwave before adding the fragrances in it.

    A fountain pen - so digital and analog, both! A lifestyle episode on things like that, why you use a notch cutter instead of my preferred guillotine (won't hold that against you), would be interesting. Would shorter beards benefit from oil?

      I love fountain pens. Just really like the way they write. I actually enjoy writing much more when I’m using a fountain pen. Sometimes the old way is just better 😉👍🏻

    I use jojoba with hazelnut oil and a bit of molten shea butter, then I use a ton of attar scent (a mix of mysore sandal, oud hindi, hina555, cardamom and menthol crystal) It smells like pan masala and this is what I want
    BTW Hina555 is used to flavour tobaccos and betelnut mixes and so is menthol and sandalwood and cardamom

      Does it work good for you though? What results have you seen?

    • @intezamable
      @intezamable 4 роки тому

      @@chriswright6436 not much really, my beard is aprox. the same length as Jeremy's beard so what I try to avoid is breakage from dryness and combing. Aside from that I use the beard oil for scent really (not to attract woman, cuze that would be a really low dawg like thing for us MuXammedans), mainly cents can lock to certain memories, so we can use a scent for some time and then not use for some years and use it to bring back those memories, its a technique we use for memorization of texts as well, it is science. More complex scents such as wild harvested aloes wood (oil) has more storage power, Try this with a Kafur or Salsabeel Journey (aka Psychedelic Trip/DMT/5MeO-DMT) and see how much more you can bring back. However...the beard being so close to the face and the nose...one must take care with synthetic scents which are overly strong and overly longlasting. It can lead to olfactory fatigue wich lasts for hours or days. Which is why we use trad. attars

      Yea, peppermint is really strong. It’s so annoying when you add peppermint, and one more drop goes in than you want... “now I gotta make twice as much!”

    I notice you had some tobacco type oils. How are those in a beard oil and or balm? Are tobacco oils a good stand alone, in you opinion?

    Really great video...thanks for the lesson. You know...after all that you've put us through making us wait 'til Tuesday for Man Shit Monday, we deserve two in one week. 🤣

    Late poster here and with a question. I've been growing my very first beard for several months (been a goatee guy for a couple of decades), shooting for a "yeard" so it's been unrestricted growth except for the occasional cheek line and upper lip hairs trimming 'cause they drive me nuts. I'm getting ready to go for my first professional trimming. My question is: What's a reasonable tip for this service? Never had it done before, so not really sure and want to neither over, nor under, tip. Any input welcomed. Thanks in advance!

    This is my first time seeing the channel... love the content my wife also does doTERRA so I will be trying some of that. Do you know of anything I can do to help thicken my beard?

    • @JeremySiers
      @JeremySiers  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks brother, glad you liked it! As for the thickening there are lots of oils that claim they thicken your beard, but from everything I’ve read it’s all kinda snake oil. Not much can actually make your beard thicker. There are some vitamins that can make hair grow a little faster, like biotin. But like I said that just really helps keep hair healthy and supposedly grow a little faster. Don’t know that there is anything out there that is actually proven to make your hair thicker. Beard oils will definitively keep it healthy and it might appear a little thicker due to less breakage. But over all the amount of hair follicles you have is kind of a genetic thing.
      Just keep it healthy and let it grow. You’ll prob be surprised how thick it is once it has some time to fill in. Hope this helps 👍🏻

    When mixing different oils, do you not have issues with them separating when some oils are heavier than others?
