Cruise ships aren’t the only place you’re told at the beginning of your trip about what to do if something goes wrong. Ever flown on a commercial plane? Oxygen masks, life vests, escape routes etc.
I’ve been driving charter buses over the road and to casinos for over 25 years. We give a safety speech at the beginning of the trip pointing out all of the emergency exits and evacuation procedures. Safety should always be a top priority
@@josephthornton4206 Good point. 😁 Charter buses could actually be considered a type of vacation. Unlike plane rides where they are just a form of transportation to a vacation. Obviously, the whole video is tongue in cheek humor and we do appreciate all the safety steps cruise lines take to make sure we have a great cruise experience. 😁 Thank you for watching!
I used to drive such charter buses - and my safety announcement was as follows. This is your driver and not your captain. In case of an emergency - I will therefore be the first to leave the bus - and not the last. The last thing you want is people running and falling over each other when they exit the bus.
Similar to the last point are experienced cruisers who say they couldn't stand an inside cabin when they have nevr been in one. Also, its weird how many people want to talk about their membership status. I don't care if you are triple emerald. I don't need to see the special lanyard...
@@kitdyson9468 Good points!! The membership status is something many people display as the badge of honor. We are diamond on Royal Caribbean and we love the perks that come with it but we don’t go around shoving it into people’s faces 😂
You probably never heard of "claustrophobia". Otherwise, you would understand why they are saying it. I do know very smart intelligent and successful people who are unable to enter an elevator, unless their are only 2 or 3 people around.
@@TravelsbyTeena Thank you so much! We are addicted to cruising and think it’s the best type of vacation. This video is all tongue in cheek humor trying to highlight things that make it different from any other vacation 😁
Carnival's muster drill is virtual on all the ships since COVID. My wife and I have 3 matching sets of T-shirts. We normally get a new set for each cruise. Each morning you look up the dinner menu at the MDR. The towel animals are a wonderful tradition. Sometimes we cabin steward does not use the same towel over and over and we end up with a towel animal zoo. Even when we have been at a port 10 times we still get off for at least 3 hours. We leave and collect ducks on every cruise. We have about 2 dozen on our spare bedroom now. I will be going on my 25th cruise in June 2025 and we have 2 friends that are going on their fist cruise since they have seen our pictures and videos.
@@davidhoffman8122 I love bringing new people with us on cruises and getting them hooked on cruising! 😁 We’re way behind you on the matching shirts though. We have the same set for the last couple of years. We need to up our game! 😂 Thank you for watching!
Only other vacation I know of that rivals cruise planning is a trip to Disney World. There, too, the savvy traveller peruses the menus, and plans an entire vacation's worth of meals, far in advance. This is co-ordinated with a daily spreadsheet of activities, precisely timed and planned. All of this is done at least 3 months in advance, often 6 months, up to a year (or more). 🤣 .
Haha! I understand that they need to do it but I was already scared to go on our first cruise. That muster drill scared me even more! 🤣 But, we still got hooked and have been cruising ever since...
My husband and I were both surprised at how much we enjoyed our first cruise. Some friends were going and we decided, on a whim, to tag along. We knew we'd have fun because of our friends being there but were happily amazed at how much we loved it!
I'm so glad to hear that! So many people have pre-conceived notions or are scared to be in the middle of an open sea, only to find out they love it. We got hooked after our very first cruise and cruising is such a better value than a land-based vacation.
@@jhollie8196 Yep, we have Royal Caribbean menu memorized… The first night is “Welcome Aboard” and we always have this prime rib. It’s always been amazing and it’s part of the included dining. 😁

Some ports I could go to over and over again. Other cruise ports are popular ports that I don't particularly like so will stay on the ship. Don't care what others wear, why should they care what I wear. I eat practically round the clock at home or on a cruise. Roll call groups you contact them. On the cruise if you meet them it isn't common. I like towel animals. So did my wife. While a ship is in port you could get some good deals. Those that want to be critics without ever having been on a cruise well, they really don't know what they are talking about.
