i remember reading the back of alot of pc game boxes saying pentium 4 3.2ghz recommended, wouldve felt godly to have back then to reach those mystic numbers

ty, it is quite fast, and also doubles as a space heater LoL. Above 3.2GHz and they start running fairly hot, I believe the Pentium 4 I'm using has a TDP of 115 watts

@@fiveleggedspider my shitrig is the same too, warms up my bedroom like no other heater ever does from its passive cooling. Im not a computer man as you are, I just remember specifically the Medal of Honor Pacific Assault specs requiring what you built amongst other games. I'd love an XP or a 98 rig one day for DOS/95 games

@@TheDzhoel That is wild, what kind of passive cooling are you using? Also as far has XP/98SE era goes there is a large in-between area from 2000 to about 2003 or 2004 where drivers were made for 98SE and XP both. For DOS games you just need to make sure you have something with decent OPL support like a SoundBlaster Vibra 16S (16C is sometimes OK but not true OPL2/3), or an ESS AudioDrive 1868 or 1869. I mention those here because that's about all that's affordable, there are all sorts of other solutions though. If you wanted one machine for both XP and 98SE at once, dual-boot or having a 3.5" hdd caddy installed in the front of the case to switch hdds are probably the best options. I say 98SE because I have found it's best to avoid the initial release of Windows 98 LOL

My 8 core Mac Pro broke down on me a couple months ago and they won't repair it. I need to get a new computer for editing, can I transfer 16GB DDR2 memory to a Compaq laptop??

I am sorry to hear that, that is awful. If you can give me the model number of the laptop I can take a look and see what max RAM is officially supported but also see if someone has managed to exceed that at some point, sometimes PCs will take upgrades that they say they won't take and do just fine
