Max is known to smile, bake some pancakes and do his tax return all whilst going into turn one on a F1 race. The fact that he's not smiling during this drive, tells me he isn't too exited about the car. Also, his reaction afterwards seems to be out of politeness, not because he just had a killer run in the Honda.

It's not like he is asking for it. He gets invited to drive these cars or it is sponsor related. Think every car lover would love to do it.
He's racing all the time too, that's the thing. If he's not racing in real life, you have a high chance of finding him racing in iracing.
He'll be racing in his 70's in some capacity, no doubt in my mind.
The problem with having all of these cameras is that editors think people want to constantly switch from one view to the next, even though you never actually get to SEE ANYTHING!!!!

I agree with the thing about this editing style. But realistically like what’re you expecting to see here. He’s solo on a track. Not racing anyone. In arguably one of the ugliest cars produced.. He literally said at the end, “It doesn’t drive good but it’s cool”. It’s not like he set a world record lap time in it..

I’m always amazed at what HRC and Honda R&D East/West/Europe build. Imagine if the base platforms of these builds started out as actual performance cars.
Except that they did? It's a racing chassis with an ugly crossover shell on top of it. Even the powertrain is an Indycar mill.
@@virgilthemob1242 You misunderstood me. I meant imagine if the actual production cars you could buy from Honda were good performance cars from the start. Not HPD busing a one-off custom tube chassis with an Indy engine and slapping a CRV body on it.

@@EagleEye666666 The car itself might be capable of being driven harder or faster probably, but for the kind of driving he was doing, it was right on the limits. If your back snaps like that, there's not much more the car can give you.

Literally any other racing driver is this calm when driving a race car.. It doesn't say anything or have anything to do with him being the best. Y'all need to stop overanalyzing everything. Probably has to do with the fact that even though it’s a V6 configuration like F1 the engine is slightly larger in displacement and uses twin turbochargers as opposed to F1 using a single so the exhaust exits via two pipes as opposed to one large pipe.
Two exhaust pipes, 2.2 liter displacement, and uses E-85 or E100 ethanol fuel. And it also rev limits at 12,000 RPM

It's a CRV, probably weighs stupid amounts.
You can tell by his eyes and counter-steers he's very much focused on getting the most he can out of the car, doesn't look bored one bit. All his track action we see him flitting between the dash to get his gear shifts right, and staring down the apex.
@@jonathanchung7209 It's a silhouette car, it's a probably a tube frame chassis with a composite or carbon body shell weighing 800-1000kg total. This is just my guess however

What they do in F1 is they attach external pumps and push heated fluids through the engine for about 40 minutes so it's basically hot before they even fire it up, I imagine the Indy engines are the same.

Drop the CR-V down like this one, put a bodykit around it, put in the integra type-s engine, boom you have a sportswagon. Which is actually popular in Western Europe. Or maybe actually give the CR-Z a faster engine? Its not like Honda doesn't make good cars, they do, but the funfactor of old seems to be dissappearing. My K24 CM2 Wagon is just a thing of the past.
