      Not really, here a list of phones who have larger batteries that came out this year: Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7 + Edge, Nexus 6P, Moto Z Force. Sure there are some phones that have less battery but they could've improved it. The phone has a camera bump and they could've filled out the body with more battery in my opinion. But remember I said the battery was amazing so I sure didn't underestimate it.

    • @stephen_sezs

      Those models have bigger batteries, sure. The implication of "only" communicates lacking, not relativity as you now suggest. Poor word choice IMO.

      i didn't use it out of box long enough to be belled. I loaded up nova prime and away it goes like a true champion, the UI issues are not bad, just different. Not sammy, not LG nor Moto. Just different

    "Only 3250mAh" Meanwhile on my Nexus 5... 2400.

    • @kickthejamz
      @kickthejamz 7 років тому

      ThierryTheuns I just bought this phone because of a black Friday deal and I've been using my Nexus 5 for almost 3 three years without a problem. I just replaced the battery because it was getting hot and dying way to fast and I'm getting 4-5 hours SoT now. My Nexus 5 will probly get the same SoT as the A7.

    • @Liam-wh8it
      @Liam-wh8it 7 років тому

      ThierryTheuns It is quite large but I speak from experience when I say it drains very fast even on battery saving mode.

    • @ThierryTheuns
      @ThierryTheuns 7 років тому +1

      ***** I've had it for a few weeks now. I've got no issues with the battery life, it outlasts my Nexus 5 without any issue, that is without battery savings on. I do have to admit the phone is idling with its screen off for at least 7 hours of the day at work.But when it is not it's on full volume, full brightness, all apps still running in the background.

    • @kickthejamz
      @kickthejamz 7 років тому +1

      ThierryTheuns OK update after having the phone for 6 weeks this phone is amazing compared to my nexus 5, I only get 4 maybe 5 on a good day on the nexus but the A7 gets anywhere from 5.5 to 8+. my average on GSam is 6.5 hours SoT

    • @ThierryTheuns
      @ThierryTheuns 7 років тому +1

      kickthejamz Good to see you're enjoying it. I'm more than happy with the upgrade and can't think of any reason to upgrade any time soon. Unless apps get progressively bigger I won't need an upgrade. I don't game on it so I don't need a GPU upgrade at any point in time.

  • @coreygarcia622
    @coreygarcia622 7 років тому +23

    I have an Axon 7 and have been using it for a little over a month. I absolutely love it! I bought it because I primarily use my phones to watch videos and listen to music, so it was perfect for me. The speakers are very good and loud, and the screen is way above average. The battery is honestly not an issue, even when watching videos for extended periods of time, and the standby time is very good. I can also say that you get used to the notification bell the first day (at least I did). The only thing that I haven't gotten used to are the unlit buttons. I find myself mis-"clicking" a lot (albeit it only wastes a half a second) and it can get frustrating, though I have for the most part, acquired some muscle memory. This is an absolute beast of a phone for 400$. Feel free to ask questions!

    • @HumbertoGRNeto
      @HumbertoGRNeto 7 років тому +2

      Is there a way to remove the black bars while watching videos? are kinda annoying..
      also, how smooth is the phone?

    • @coreygarcia622
      @coreygarcia622 7 років тому +2

      +Humberto Neto the black space only appears when watching videos of lower resolution due to the qhd (I.e. 480p), but it is not removable to my knowledge. As far as the smoothness of the phone, after a month it's just like I bought it yesterday. No hiccups, glitches, stutters, lag, etc. The hardware is top of the line and the software is minimalistic, so it will move and transition as fast as you want it to. Hope this helped!

    • @coreygarcia622
      @coreygarcia622 7 років тому

    • @coreygarcia622
      @coreygarcia622 7 років тому

      +henrkpc As far as lte connection goes I've never had a problem. For wifi, it might disconnect randomly probably once a week or two. Definitely not a dealbreaker as the amount of times it disconnects is pretty negligible IMO, and there is never a problem reconnecting. And sorry but there's no Danish language :(

    Everyone is complaining about the capacitive keys not lighting up, which I don't get. It's true they don't light up, but they are still fairly easy to see even in the dark. The phones that do have light up keys, they turn off after a few seconds, then you can't see them at all.... it's just black.. look at the HTC 10. I think ZTE got these buttons right. They don't light up and waste battery and they can be seen.

    Well some of those thing were fixed on the Axon 7 mini but the Axon 7 mini owners had to wait longer to update to Android 7 which gave us multi-window and let us run apps that crashed before the update.

    The capacitive buttons is a good point rather than bad. I like the way ZTE made their capacitive buttons such that I can switch the "back" and "recent" buttons like those found in Samsung phones. This is why it is shown as two dots so that the buttons can be switched. For those interested in switching or prefer the right hand to tap the back button, LG V20 is the other phone that lets you switch the capacitive buttons.

  • @maroonstarsface
    @maroonstarsface 7 років тому

    the buttons are only dots because you can change what they do! I love it as I seem to be the only one that prefers having the back button on the left. lock screen notification bell - you have a finger print scanner... you don't even need to press the power button to open your phone and with it being a finger scanner on the back not a thumb on the front I personally have it unlocked before my hand even leaves my pocket, think the only time I see the lock screen is if the phone restarts. can't defend the camera, it's just a trade off for the price being so good and same for the lack of SD integration but compared to the big brand flagships and even the oneplus 3, the fact you can use a memory card at all is fantastic!

    Great video on the Axon 7. Now! The magic words in 2016 are: "Hi-specs phones from China $400 or under". And so we have the Axon 7. Oneplus 3. Lenovo ZUK2. Asus Zenfone 3. Honor V8. Huawei P9. Xiaomi MI5. LTV Le Eco Le Max2. Alcatel Idol 4S. Is there a ranking about them? Is there a list of specs in which each phone outperforms the others? Do any have a hardware durability guarantee (or the opposite do any have a track record of hardware failure?). Is community (or lack of it) an important factor? Thanks guys!

      i prefer more screen with cap buttons, its no problem after a while to find the right one, even in dark. actually prefer that over the sammy plan

    I bought my Axon 7 about 10 months ago. An issue popped up in less than a week of having it. Everytime I pressed the power button, or used the fingerprint scanner, the screen would not wake up. There is still a 2-4 second delay everytime I haven't woken up the screen in awhile. The other thing I do not like about the Axon 7 is that the battery drains really fast. I only play BTD5 and BTD6 for about 30min-1hour here and there, but I would lose 20-30% battery everytime. The quick charging does make up for it though. I would say the phone is not worth $300 beause of the first apparent issue. Try looking at the Huawei Honor 7x or Asus Zenfone Series.

    I find that many of the issues are software related, I have yet to get mine(I don't live in the US), I've seen even better pics taken by 3rd party apps, so most of the issues can be fixed luckily, and the Last "worst" thing, is that, sure adoptable storage is good, its not a deal breaker when a lot of phones don't even come with an SD card tray, I do get your point, but I find it too much like, "This phone is great, we must find at least something that is bad", and I actually want to believe it that way, because personally the SD is something really important for me, given that I carry a huge lot of music, autocad and others with me most of the time, it's the main reason why the OnePlus was a no go, besides, Im eager to finally have Hi-Fi audio.

    Bad low light is to be expected sense the phone has 20 megapixels more pixels mean it needs more light to hit the pixels that's why a lot of manufacturers went with less but in total honesty for the price and for what it can do this is a great phone and looking forward to buying

    I needed to know the pros and cons given I am looking for a budget, smart phone to replace my first generation Moto G (don't judge me). I am familiar with one plus 3, Alcatel, and Honor. I am, however, leaning towards the Moto G 5 or the Moto Z play. I guess if you go Moto, you get hooked.

    OK if you are watching and you are thinking of buying the phone
    The software has been fixed
    The bell notification has been fix
    About the buttons being same you will get it after three days
    And because your mind is so accustomed to it you can locate the buttons in the dark

    Finger print reader is crazy fast on my a7. The device is speedy but as always android hang ups occur. I'm a bit bummed about the signal strength. This phone is incredible especially for the price. I look forward to be updates. Oh and the miflavor thing removes app drawer but I'm using the stock android skin so no problem there. Love toys phones audio and the speakers

    the thing i hate most is, trying to get zte to acknowledge my deviced is registered and under warranty.
    they do not have a dedicated warranty page.
    i have talked to to zte and posted on the forum but no one can tell me if my device is registered.
    they said your receipt is your warranty.
    other than that i love this phone.

    Have had the phone for week now and can easily use it at night (only took 3 days ahah). Another con is that there are no current tempered glass screen protectors that fully cover the axon 7's screen due to the slight curved edges :( Honestly, to many pros for it's cons and this phone is outrageously good.

    I think that ZTE is on the right track with the Axon series. Axon 8 , if they take care of the front button and make them backlit and further polish the software. I almost/might consider the Axon 7/8 just as a musikplayer. God thinking there ZTE!
