Great review. Very thorough, detailed and well paced. 👍🏻
Much appreciated!
Love the forged wheels in solid gray.
Whoa! I loved how you saved the launch for the end of the video. It is as if you signed off by saying, "SEE YA". Nice touch
Glad you enjoyed, Gary!
Brian, another great review.
You helped me before so here is one more question for you.
It is not M4 xDrive related, but it is M related. How do you compare M3 vs IS500? What are your thoughts between the two?
And what do you think will last better long term?
Great video, kind of a weird spec on this one. Someone actually ordered the Shadowline delete, giving it body colored spoiler, mirror caps and chrome tips.
Second, there was a little information confusion. The M Drive Professional ($900 option), doesn’t raise the governor, it only gives you the 10 stage traction control, and drift analyzer. The M Drivers Package ($2,500) is the 180mph speed bump, and track day. And ordering the Carbon Ceramics, deletes some of that 100 pound weight gain, to offset xDrive addition. You’re going to lose 25-30lbs going with the ceramic brakes, putting your actual xDrive weight gain, only around 65-75 vs that 100.
Love the review. In other news, I rocked the 'Save the Manuals' T-shirt in Mexico recently.
Where are the pix?!?!?
Very intelligent review! I am an engineer and I can say this was truly top noch. Keep up the great work. I have the real wheel drive an you make me want to run to the dealership.
Cheers, thanks, Christopher. Just stumbled upon this now and I try to stay on top of positive feedback.
Great job, thank you. 🤘🤠
Glad you enjoyed!
Great video, I hav a m5 2021 competition, how much quicker is the m5 than m4 competition
Depends. On paper, I think yours is. In the real world head to head, it depends on who gets the better launch.
Aside from the funky grill, what an awesome car
It truly is. Wonderful all around machine.
Best auto reviewer on UA-cam, should have tons more subscribers.
Thanks, Scott! Another great reminder for our faithful viewers to tell all of your friends!
I'm still watching the video, I don't track but would like to in the future. Why would say this isn't a track car? Just wanting to learn. I do plan on getting this vehicle and modify its exhaust and tune. This will be my first M vehicle.
High praise for the Ugly Duckling, indeed!
I really feel that the progression to an AWD M3/M4 was inevitable, and it could not have come at a better time than the new G20-gen. Given the heft of this coupe (it's as big as the old 6-series coupe) and the direction of the market itself - more usable performance for your dollar - I'm surprised that X-Drive isn't the sole option; it really solidifies the Grand Touring-vibe this car gives off and yet... its still small enough to be playful when you want it to be. Great review as always.
Thanks DB!
Why do you say this not a track car as an AWD? I tracked my RS5 (too nose heavy), then did the same with my F82 Comp (great but tail happy), and now have an G82 Comp with xDrive on order. I plan to do plenty of tracking with it.
You can track anything you want. In your case, you’ll want to run that in rear drive in the dry which is a good thing because it’ll force you to sharpen your skills. In the wet, it’ll be a weapon, but it’s still not a track car. An F82 GTS is a track car.
@@BrianMakse Bill Auberlen disagrees with you, sir. I assume you know who he is. ua-cam.com/video/TixSxjZqbYo/v-deo.html
Dont worry this Car is absolutely a perfect Car for any Racetrack. By the way with the Xdrive you can even switch AWD off and use it as a RWD;) Wish you a lot of fun with the Car, I ordered exactly the same and my Car will be used a lot on the RaceTrack.
If Bill wasn't on the BMW payroll, you'd have a point.
@@BrianMakse he may be on BMW's payroll, but he says in the video I linked to that the xDrive version is better than the standard, rear wheel drive. That was my point.
"It's how ya use it". Lol.
You know it! Just like cars don't understeer by themselves!
Not a track car? Now that the Lancer Evo is gone, I think this can make for a perfect time attack machine. It won’t have the woeful understeer at the limit Quattros tend to suffer, for one thing. It may be heavy, but can hide its weight quite well.
Not a track car. And cars don't understeer by themselves.
What is the top speed M4 Competition convertible X Drive , is it 250 km/h or 297 km/h
Depends on how you option it.
@@BrianMakse if it stock
250
@@BrianMakse thanks
Why does it have a Canadian package, eh?
I’d like this car in the M3 version for me!
I keep missing the M3, definitely need to try one, but the M4s are persuading me to live my best coupe life.
@@BrianMakse Coupe just looks better. Obviously sportier looking plus the illusion of smaller in a giant sized sports market. Looking forward to the upcoming M2 versions. Size does matter….
Tartufo interior 🙌🏻
I love saying tartufo!
What exhaust is on that car?
Stock.
Sorry but saying this Car is not for the RaceTrack is absolutely wrong. It is a perfect car for every Racetrack and was mostly developed for that reason on the Nordschleife and other famous Racetracks. Yes its an AWD but you can even switch off AWD and use it as a RWD;)
They say m440i is faster than the m4 in 0-100 times, would you agree?
No.
Who says that?😂😂
@@Andyyy213 rwd m4 vs xdrive m440i. the m440i is faster.
ua-cam.com/video/wTu5dmlKr5g/v-deo.html for example.
@@Andyyy213 I'm sure several UA-camrs drone on incessantly about it...
@@BrianMakse that is insane. Who in their right mind believes an m440i has a faster 0-60mph time than an m4 comp 🤣
Great review but the camera switch constantly coming from uptop rolling down.....too much. Too many. Overdone. Work on other transitions. Besides that...great job
Noted!
Buddy the awd has tested faster on track
Buddy, if that's the only measure then everybody would be driving race cars.
@@BrianMakse bud you said to get rwd version for track use idk what ppl driving race cars has to do with this but yes everyone should it’s safer
@@trent8812 safer? You'll have to explain that one.
If you want to be the quickest car at the track, you don't need the M4 Comp, you don't need the M4 xDrive Comp, you need the M4 GT4 racecar. You can find the review on this channel.
All cars should be AWD at least part time
Nah…
Thank God o briben’s infrastructure bill with 3% to fix roads passed in the dead of the night last night! Those roads need some serious social justice and woke transgendered attention. “Broke back mountain better “ let’s go Brian (Brandon)
That's a good one! LET'S GO BRIAN! I think we have a new idea for some merch!
Try a better road next time chief that’s hideous
You’re an incredible contributor to this channel. Thank you.
Ass Grill. Ha Ha Ha
