I believe that's the first time I've seen him express a truly joyful smile with a series of questions in an interview. It was nice to see and kudos to the interviewer.
yeeeeeah, Dr John, that's what I am talking about! "Real musicians, playing real music" spot on. Imagine that Aqualung was played on the radio. God I wish the industry would just dissolve it's current ways, get offline and value great music again
@@nicdrost7359 Kirk’s voice is fucked up just like Phil’s was at the time this video was recorded because of the way Kirk sang with Crowbar and Phil with Superjoint.
I saw the gig years ago where Phil discovered King Parrot. Me and my mate said Phil will have ears open for Aussie music and seems we were right. So happy for this 🇦🇺
@@keitha.563 Definitely. It's good to see Phil taking care of himself in recent years. I've sober 14 years and it's not easy sometimes. I can only imagine how hard it is for Phil.

It’s nice to know that somebody as famous and talented as Phil (FAR BEYOND DRIVEN alone is an awesome legacy) has many of the same traits/passions/vices as myself. He is only 2yrs older and we both love death metal, horror movies, as well as unloading on the heavy bags. Whilst he too became addicted to Heroin, I totally annihilate him in the former drug addiction department however. Edit : I always find Phil’s honesty interesting to listen to.
I love how in his interviews he always has a band to suggest and in this case a movie. I'm about to check out portal and house by the cemetary. I also love horror movies.
I really think that variety is such an important part of being a musician. Being able to hear everything that influenced your favorite artists all the way back to the base of the ladder is so lucrative when you're making music
@@dotChrollo Yes, I agree completely with your comment! It's very important and if you play an instrument like me I play guitar for over 25 years now the more genres you listen to will make you better at writing your own music. Look at ZAKK WYLDE he was very into playing country guitar before finding his love of metal.
A fun thing about Phil is that he was a super fan of the italian horror movies such as he said house by the cemetary. He played in necrophagia as Anton crowley. Songs that is all about the italian horror movies. You even see scenes from The beyond in a music video were Phil plays on.
had this guy done Game character voice-overs? ever?? Cuz I've heard this voice at many many many instances during my journey around nuclear tored world of Fallout
Go find the film "Dark Waters" from 1993. An amazing atmospheric and creepy film. I don't know how I just came across it until recently. One of the best horror films of the 90s. Italian horror is all I've been looking up lately.
ORANGE SAVAGE written and performed by ZBORRO, underground supergroup from Rome. There's METIBLA (vocals), INFERNO (drums and guitar) and KARDIA (bass), you should check them out too. I'm trying to persuade them to upload here the whole record, it f**** rocks🤘
I know dude, I got the one and only demo they've ever made 🤷♂️. It's a kinda super band from Rome, there's some Inferno(sci-fi grind and roll) some Bikini Death Race and some Metibla in it 😉
He is a LEGEND. Amazing front man and vocalist.
The best hardcore metal singer in his prime.
