I love your content. So knowledgeable. I have a question for you: what's your take on dog poop bags, based on your compostable vs biodegradable video I'm going with compostable but I'd love to know what the pros and cons are. So much greenwashing goes on in that industry, I want to know what the best decision is. I live in Toronto so I know a lot has to do with the composting facilities in your neighborhood. I'd love to know your take on dog poop bags (i may be the first person on earth to ask that question lol)?
Thank you, so glad you're finding it useful! So compostable dog poop bags, yes, IF you can actually compost them. Most industrial / local municipal composting facilities though do not accept dog poop, so the only alternative is to have a home composting solution for this. You do get specific home dog poop composters - check your local pet store. Otherwise, I personally use old newspaper. It's always lying around and while it can't all be thrown in the compost bin it's better than buying and using recycled plastic or virgin plastic poop bags. Hope that helps!
We've not found a PVA-free sheet solution but if you want the convenience of drop-and-go sheets, Blueland makes PVA-free tablets, or you can homemake your own laundry pods, which we've tried and had good success with.
I saw someone on here on UA-cam vaguely claim that municipal water systems can "breakdown" pva. I am sceptical. There are millions of these little pacs being released daily. This can't be good. I will avoid these pacs in the future because they are made with petrochemicals.
Very interesting thanks Lyall!
Oh no! 🤯
You referred to a list of "upcycles" stores but I couldn't find the link??? I live in the US near Boston, MA
He’s got a zillion links. Play around with clicking under the title? Maybe clicking on the word “more”? (Depending on what device you’re using … )

So I want to make laundry sheets but don't want to use PVA, what is the alternative solution?
