I love this song and as a guitar player I’m ashamed to say I never realised how good this solo was until you gave me a new appreciation and understanding of it 👍🏻
Thank you GP; as always, you make complex stuff seem easy. Thank you for bringing Spin Doctors back to memory; a great funk-jazzy-Rock n' Roll group... one of the gems of pop music history.
I saw the notification and knew it was this song. There are other great solo in the 90s . But this band came form almost nowhere and created an hymn of the 90s with a one hit wonder
Hello Pilgrim! Yes, that's a great solo. Glad to see you're back with your "Great solos"-series. Now, how about the much awaited take on Genesis/Steve Hackett - "Firth OF Fifth" solo? I'm sure you could master that. 😉👌
Eric has knocked out some amazing solos weaving in and around inventive chord progressions. Great tone with crunching chords. Version of Spanish Castle Magic is definitive. How Could You Want Him (When You Know You Can Have Me) is in my top 10 tracks.
"Little Miss Count Along" with Zoe & the Count! So glad I caught that one with the VCR for my son. Of course now I can just look it up & play it for his 18 month old daughter!
@@cgdoublezerorc that’s awesome! Those VHS tapes were a blessing when my kids were growing up. My daughter is always pulling old stuff up from UA-cam to show her kids, so it’s clear they were hitting the mark on that show. Fun for both parents and kids.
Very spooky, haven't heard this song for ages but it was on the radio this morning and I was thinking I really should learn that one! Maybe you heard it on Nova too?? 😀
Hey Thom! Is this a new series? That would be awesome! Your Top 3 solos from each decade? Ps... I wouldn't mind seeing Candlebox "Far Behind" solo Great work, as always ✌
Hi Pilgrim! Amazing solo! Could you try breaking down "Shakin Stevens - This ole house"? The guitar in there is beautiful but it's so hard to figure it out
I think a great idea for a video would be the end of I Got A Feeling. They are both playing movable Dominant 7th chords and moving in opposite directions.
Hello Thom, thanks for the video! You use a guitar with a tremolo. What is your solution to prevent the higher string go out of tune when you bend the lover string in those country licks?
@@GuitarPilgrim I did not ask about using the tremolo. :) But when you bend a string it should pull the tremolo out of its position a little (or more). Expect if you blocked the tremolo or have the springs of the tremolo set very-very tight.
just simply breakdown mateus asato playing or create a lesson on his playing style it's my urge to understand his way of handleing instrument from your side.....

I love 90s
The 90’s was the last good decade. Since the 90’s everything has sucked more and more.
@@guyfromnj Let's hope somehow in the future things will come full circle and people will appreciate this music more.
@@fatkitty4207 let’s hope!!!
The 90’s were the best decade of music for me
It's just amazing how great guitar pilgrim is in every kind of music.
I love this song and as a guitar player I’m ashamed to say I never realised how good this solo was until you gave me a new appreciation and understanding of it 👍🏻
Great! Jimmy Olsen's Blues is also an incredible fun song to learn.

Couldn't agree more. Great song and solo. I love the rhythmic start to the solo.
Awesome Pilgrim, I really enjoy these tutorials. Shame you don't get more views man. Been fantastic for years now.
absolutely perfect complimenting the lyrics
Completely forgot about the Spin Doctors, putting some Kryptonite in my pocket playlist today. Enjoyed the video, thanks GP and have a great weekend.
EXCELLENT!
This song is really one of the best rock songs ever...
Song and guitar solo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great, man. 👍🏻
I've been thinking the same thing. its on the 90s Spotify playlist that my boss puts on and that last double country bend gets me every single time!
Fabulous! Well done. I remembered the chord progression as soon as you started to play, but I never learned the solo! Now I can & will. 00
Always loved this solo. Great vid. Cheers!
Little miss can't be wrong by this group was great too
always loved that song, tells a great story and yeah - fantastic guitar solo!
it's always fascinating to watch you 👏👏👏👍
The spin doctors were awesome !!! Merciiiiiii
Jeez you play that solo well. Made replicating all the well timed and precise bends look like you've been doing it since the song came out.
I saw the notification and knew it was this song. There are other great solo in the 90s . But this band came form almost nowhere and created an hymn of the 90s with a one hit wonder
I always liked the band this song and the second single they played on SNL , little miss cant be wrong

The solo brings back memories
Never realized how skynyrd-y this solo was before now.. haha.. love the major/minor key interplay.
Another great video. Always a pleausure to watch, listen and learn. No better guitar channel on the web!
SD were all great musicians, Eric in particular a very tasteful and overlooked player

Pilgrim, your playing absolutetly blows my mind each time! I'd love to have you join my next World Wide Shred Collab!! 🥳🔥🎸🙌
They played that on Sesame St with Zoe and Elmo as I recall. Different words of course, fun song.

Do the “I Got A Woman” solo interpreted by John Mayer Trio, that’s just pure blues inspiration
Straight into my sweet 16
I’ve spent so much time on my cd player to try to play it in the 90´s !!!
thanks Pilgrim!!! i love those videos , i got it, i got that level and i can do it hahahaha
Hey Thom! Is this a new series? That would be awesome! Your Top 3 solos from each decade? Ps... I wouldn't mind seeing Candlebox "Far Behind" solo Great work, as always ✌
Love it
The last great decade . The 90's.
I agree, after the 90's most of everything was shite (or I'm getting old:)
I woke up today thinking about the Spin Doctors! And wondered whatever happened to them??? Two hit wonders or???
Merci
Could you please do Gary Moore version of pretty woman???
Hi Pilgrim! Amazing solo! Could you try breaking down "Shakin Stevens - This ole house"? The guitar in there is beautiful but it's so hard to figure it out
Thom i'v said this before - is there anything you CAN'T play ? Excellent 👍🎸
I'm struggling with chopin 4th ballade at the moment, yes there most certainly is
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Eric Schenkman is one of the greatest.
Brillant! As always.
The same, I would marry you if you were not a boy 😂
I like what you do and how you do for us 👍
Alive by pearl jam was a good one too.
You always have GREAT tone! Do you use a VOX or a VOX style plugin?
I think the guitar player in that band was actually very good.
Happy Friday GP!!
Happy Friday brother!
Patreon here. Please please tell me how you get that tone.. It's incredible. Almost as good as yoiut playing.
Check out the 100k how I get my tone video!

I rarely use the tremolo

No! Don't ever go full spin doctors.
Not only solo but a riff. It has loosy vibe. Marshall 90 era sound? Someone know a amp used. Maybe its a Boss ds into Marshall. This sound is So 90ish
completely forgot this song.
just simply breakdown mateus asato playing or create a lesson on his playing style it's my urge to understand his way of handleing instrument from your side.....
One of "the best" of the decade?? meh. It's a good pop solo, but not at the top of the list.
