Vincent Garcia is also the guy that got called by Cory Wong to replace his usual bassist that could not come on tour in Europe, learns 30 songs in 2 days and does the whole tour with Cory's band like if he was always part of it...
One of my favourite two bass players breaking down the other and giving some love. Huge respect to both! You guys are the leading players of the day, pleased to say I’ve seen one live, and the other one soon!

Hey Charles this video was so good. To say I enjoyed this is an understatement. Thank you for exposing Vincen to the bass community. He is so unbelievably talented. I really enjoyed how you broke down the song and explained the parts so thorough and so good. My favorite part of the video was when you played the part slowed down. You still played it so funky and in the pocket, you made it musical even though it was slower (a lot of people when playing slow treat it as checking a box). This is also a testament to Vincen's compositional skills, no matter what tempo it is that line and song are still freaking fantastic.
The percussive notes have a natural sustain gate to them just by the way he's playing it showing a lot of consistent control on very high speeds. The way it just flows and rolls in the solo is very satisfying, indeed both musical and technical, thanks for sharing and breaking it down!
Charles' explanations on bass videos are astonishing. Not only he manages to play solos note by note, but he dissects musically those intrincate parts, making them accesible to everyone...the best possible teacher.
Nothing short of incredible! Definitely interested in more analytical videos like this. Being able to break down riffs like that isn't the easiest to consolidate in your head when you're hearing it for the first time.

There is a video from the tour where Cory explains how Vincent came into the band. Vincent wrote Cory that he would love to play with him whenever he is looking for a bassist. Love it mate yes nice good
Hadn’t seen you since you were just a kid playing a sweet old south gospel piece. Recognized your familiar facial expressions as you played. Knew you instantly. Huge admirer. 👏❤🇨🇦
Love this style of video! It is incredibly valuable seeing you unpack another player’s work as it gives insight into how your mind works as you digest and express music. And you follow through with learning and playing it for us! I’ve not seen a reactor take it that far (since I think most don’t have the chops to pull it off). Having someone with your skill devote time to articulating what skilled players are doing and then doing it yourself is so useful. One enthusiastic vote for more from me!
